Someone asked about the Blue Heart Event but I can't find the comment anymore...
to get the Blue Heart Event:
1) See all previous events
2) Brandon & Gotts must be in the workshop
3) the event take place on ( Mon, Fri, Tue, Wed)days
4) from 1pm to 3pm only
5) Any weather is fine
Edit: Also;
1) try befriending Gotts to get Brandon
2) BTW Brandon like cucumbers, also I gave him an egg daily & I think it worked, and I gave Gotts a lumber a day :)

i never played this game before but I am interested in starting but I am curious do all of the characters that the Mc marries have a kid or is it just a select few?
Yes, all characters will have a kid (even same sex marriage)

Yeah, craftsmen of all kinds often tend to be quite a bit on the rude side. They perceive things in certain aspects rather differently compared to most. Look at Saibara and Gotz for example.
