I have been a judge at our fair when my mom organized the home building. I looked at how the items best portrayed their own pattern. Loved that an apron won the best sewing. Kids sections were fun too.

The socks are awesome. And really go for ! Shake up the state fair. And you can enter your sewing too.
In your last video, you mentioned cutting your linen dress from selvedge to selvedge...usually a dress pattern is cut out with the grain of the fabric straight up and down. If it's a straight dress...not guys. If you cut it the other way, it could sag in weird ways. I've never used linen. Maybe it's different? Someone else here may know for sure. Good luck on your sewing adventures! I hope it gives you joy 😊

I love your entries for the State Fair! I hope you chose your colorwork sweater! It has the highlighter colors so coordinates well with the other entries and it is your design!!! I stopped in the IKEA in New Haven on my way back from Cape Cod and bought some fabric! I want to try and make a tote bag - now I just need to learn how to use the sewing machine I bought for my daughter ten years ago!!! Good luck at the fair!!!

Did you get the sock done? The colors are SO you! I hope you had fun meeting up with your friend and handing in your submissions together. (That was yesterday in real time, right?) I just wanted to tell you to stop talking and go knit those socks! Glad you finished them, they are gorgeous! You should come away with a ribbon or two with your other knits too. They are all uniquely you. Can’t wait to see what happens!

I think you can take the gathers out and have a bit more fabric.
