There's one more tramtrain-system in Germany: In the city of Nordhausen, there is a fleet of three small Siemens Combino trams equipped with BMW car engines. At Nordhausen station, they switch to dieselelectric mode to run on a tram line into the Harz mountains. They're not super fast, but definetely worth checking out.

Cologne has also 3 tramtrains lines but without dual mode vehicles like on the line S1 to Bad Herrenalb in Karlsruhe and the line 4 in Kassel. 2 of those lines connect the lightrail system of Cologne to the lightrail system of Bonn.

But in Karsruhe, the tendering process is slowly destroying the system. One line has already been switched to mainline trains and no longer go to the city center

Tram-trains are ideal for suburbs and are better than buses and greener. I totally agree with you why tram-trains in Germany are lot better than the Sheffield Supertram.
When the extension to Rotherham Parkgate was completed several years ago. And the Class 399 tram-train vehicles were built to operate to Rotherham.
And not forgetting Cardiff, Newport and South Wales who are getting Class 398 tram-trains. As Transport for Wales is to take over some of the local heavy branch lines in the Cardiff area in couple years time.

On 17:30 the tram from Kassel to Hessisch-Lichtenau drives really fast. On some parts of this line between Kaufungen and Hessisch-Lichtenau the tram reach a speed of up to ± 75 km/h.

You could have included the Cologne/Bonn Stadtbahn, which has two lines running on mainline tracks, or rather tracks using mainline signalling system.
