Woman Escapes Hostage Situation During Deadly Gas Station Shootout

  • Published on Sep 19, 2022
  • Bodycam footage shows a woman escaping a hostage situation during a shootout at a Texas gas station on August 23. The Houston Police Department said 52-year-old Melvin Porter allegedly took his ex-girlfriend hostage and forced her to drive for hours after swapping places with her co-worker, who Porter allegedly kidnapped. Police say they found Porter at a Shell gas station after his ex-girlfriend convinced him to stop to use the bathroom. A shootout between police and Porter occurred while his ex-girlfriend fled to safety. The officers involved and the victim were not injured. Porter was pronounced dead at the scene.

Yes, they get paid it's their job but sometimes they will show exceptional bravery or a life saving act that is beyond their normal duties. His dept will probably recognize him in some way, they give awards, stripes, medals in special situations like the military does.

Just because they also save people alot which they do, doesn't give them a pass to keep violating natural law which they do through enforcing tax (theft) and drug laws. They're a much bigger threat to freedom than they are heroes. Crazy how your captors can also be your hero in certain situations but they're still your captor...
