it's insane that legend is a game where you can get so creative with units but devs simply choose to slap auto gauge on units and same old unique gauges on lfs and call it a day. like in terms of creativity think about it, most creative thing we saw was synchro gauge this anni and before that it was probably prepration mode/hit's time skip(kinda similar mechanics) like all other stuff in between is same old gauges and counter gauges with a little variance i think master roshi's evil contamination ray was also cool. like legends could do a cell or frieza that transform multiple types, like that guy mentioned - units where you have option to choose between transformation and one of them is super offensive and other is super defensive and you choose as per situation, a cell or meta cooler that spawns a super weak clone but that can act as a 4rth unit in your team providing extra switch and all the benefits of having one extra unit, a zamasu who gets more corrupted with every green card and turns into the sky when dies applying poison, bleed etc on enemy team from time to time. like there is so much creative potential but legends will do the most boring thing.

Just to add on as a active fighting game player. Your partially right. One of the reason to use a practice mode is to practice combos and also is to figure out senarios or to figure out how certain characters work in different situations. For example (In dragon ball legends terms) you can't try revival characters in the try option on banners or you can't see if this drop combo scenario opponents can not vanish. Most important. You can learn how to synergies your team without having to do it in a actual match. You could argue to go to the training battle in pvp but your either going to get new players, or people trying to have fun with a particular set up. Yes. For my question about a training mode, doing a training mode in Fighting Games for combos is helpful but it's also for practicing your mechanics. So in Legends let's say you can set the enemy bot to tap attack a blast followed by a green card if you vanish so you can practice tap attacking after the vanish to react to their AOE green. Or practicing spacing/defense with other means. Also practicing at different ping levels so getting a laggy match doesn't 100% throw you off

17:10 I literally don't play until Anniversary and Fest, and when I do I make a fresh account, grind up all my CC, spend it all, and cruise for the next 2-3 months after the celebration ends with a juiced account
3:00 Glorio isn't the first time we've seen them do that mechanic, so bashing it isn't that big of a deal, it's just a spin on something different rather than giving out the same way to get cover null, either it be on entry, through the main ability or green card, or a counter gauge like UL Super Vegito (I believe). Supreme Kai does the exact same thing and it's not that hard to pull off.
@jhoanmelotheonionring5616 but that's not the point tho, it doesn't matter if you are side unit or the main unit, what the devs give a unit is to either break the cycle of what we are use too or keep giving us the same thing over and over again.
for real thought, Goresh is right. in fact i only play half the year, the 3 months of hypeness during anni and carnival celebrations. then i take a 3 month cool down until the next celebration. I summon then to have more value for my Cc and usually skip a short meta and jump on the next meta. plus all the tickets you get during anni/carnival you maks up for the unit you did not pull earlier. plus unless you are hardcore. you don't need to work on every team. invest in the one you like and you will be fine.
to people who want to get into the game, play it between may-july and november-december, other than that, ur better off playing something else, those are the only times legends devs are somewhat competent, this game is so predatory in that the gacha system rewards the 1% of players who spend half of their paycheck on this game, and punishes f2p-light spenders. I'm not saying whales shouldn't exist, play the game however you want, its just unfortunate that people need to either spend a good amount ofmoney or be extremely lucky to keep up with the most recent meta (if you wanna be god ranked or top 1-3k).
Here’s an idea. Make a new version of the syncro gauge that allows a character to switch back and forth between transformations after meeting a condition. Either each form has a different main ability, or both forms share one. Imagine a Goku that switches in and out of SSG and SSB.
31:22 I am still waiting(10 years) for this exact mechanic in Dokkan to choose to transform between forms and one mechanic that no one talks about is you start as single units but after active or turn passed another character joins you in the fight and you become like joined forces unit.
If Legends made Ultra banners not garbage and the rates even just a smidge better. Bring back consistent, good regular banners with say, 2 SP's with every new LF. And get rid of Exs finally. Fixes SO MANY problems right there.
10:51 As uncreative as Auto dodge gauges are I strongly believe they have even more of an impact than synchro gauge in terms of combat Synchro gauges so far have worked to give us a new, better unit mid combat with its own mechanics but that’s only two characters so far Meanwhile, there have been about 6 auto dodge gauges (UUI, Ultra Gohan, UG4, UGB, Ultra Janemba and new UMV) and all these units they belong to have changed the meta because they simply prevent you from playing the game. Auto dodging literally stops people from attacking and in most cases punishes you for playing as you should and the fact that all of these units were Meta defining is alarming
20:09 I don't think having 6 top tier units in one team is a horrible idea when we have proud rules exist. I think we should start treating proud rules as one of the main game modes of the game than just another game mode, it would be probably one of the main reasons why some of their decisions are kinda odd is because of Proud rules.
Maybe they should introduce a character that draws strikes and blasts that are not your typical strikes and blasts that ignores guages and maybe cleanses debuffs? With a unique strike and blast animations when using those cards
30:51 i think counter gauges are not a bad addition but just giving it to alot of characters with out a certain way for other characters to counter them is the issue (gogeta blue was almost there but they just restricted him to strikes and u have to chain them)
26:21 This is exactly what I thought about Vegeta, we need a strong and fun-to-play Vegeta, not another brainless unit. No one has fun eating 3 free blue cards per match which lower your health restoration or getting aoe green carded where he got more cards, type neutral and immune to card destruction. And furthermore, it's even worst that people are running him with Turles and Goku, which are the tankiest combo in the game right now and Vegeta just mindlessly does anything without worries at all about being killed (can be killed by an endurance-nullified RR but Turles + Goku destroys 5 hundred dragon balls per match or if you've made a mistake, you got aoe green carded and comboed to death by the lock-in ultimate). It's like the dev said here is your reward for summoning on our new units by giving them (especially the ultras) every single mindless ability in the game where a child can still win just by clicking cards. IMO, the counter gauge like UG4 is fine because its purpose is to stop the combo and put the match to a neutral state, auto mechanic shouldn't give you any kind of free damage (I don't say UG4 is not toxic, I just think his gauge alone is fine, what makes him toxic is the lock-in aoe green card, ridiculous ultimate and a universal cover change that guarantees to draw a blue card)
The way they fumbled LF Super Vegeta and Sparking YEL Saiyan Saga Goku and heck even God Goku would always be criminal to me. I love how they made LF Super Vegeta's animation and then they just put a bland kit. Plus, LF Ultimate Gohan's LF animation is so ASS and his kit is unimaginable insane. I hate bias in this game.
When looking back on how they counter units MV is basically the LF cooler of 2024, a unit whos whole kit meant to ciunter a unit completely causes the unit to feel irrelevant, and i do hate that sometimes cause sure, a counter is needed, but it should be more so like How ultra Kid buu was to UGb, or how Treeku is to gogeta 4, just good options to counter the character without the character falling into irrelavance, we shouodnt be getting a USV Vs LF cooler situation all over again, it just straight up unhealthy.
I really like how diverse the releases were in the side banner department. However, if we are to get a lot of underrated characters like the crusher corps or possessed trunks, but they're actual hot garbage, I much prefer the LF and random recycled EX unit format. At least there we had some surprises like yellow ex metal cooler
I think the first tag unit was cool but I also think that that time of the year with the featured boost and adding on with the new unit was horrible, mono purple was so painful to deal with, then when they went off boost or a bit before we had ul gogeta, who was just like really dumb. And even synchro gauge is extremely cool, so I'm not gonna say it's like some glorified transformation but I think the mechanics they gave the units, well one was cheezy as hell, and the other was underwhelming, and then we got the trio of vegito gohan and ug4 like there's always some bs mixed in with what is normally a really cool isolated release. I just really don't like units where it feels like you have to deal with the same thing, like it becomes clockwork what's gonna happen in your match cause of much the unit plays the game for you. You have almost always see ug4s 3 gauge procs, atleast on release it was guaranteed, you have to deal majin vegetas gauge, you have to see deal with turles and gokus db destruction, so much is guaranteed to happen within a match it becomes so monotonous since you know everything that's gonna happen
One of the things that is weird with Majin Vegeta is that the character doesn't tie with the idea of "countering" so his gauge is out of nowhere, when did he counter anything in the anime at all? I get gogeta since he does a lot of flashy counters and all (even if I hate it still) but Majin Vegeta??!!?! He SCREAMS having something like purple cell and explode when he dies and do damage to the team, that and an attack based gauge if anything, you KNOW they went "eh whatever give him an op ability we need money and to bait them before legends fest" and it sucks lmao
The new mechanics of 2024: synchro gauge (very good), rising rush landing even when guessed (you would think that everybody hates it, but at least it's something new) and assault chain (nice concept but horrible execution). Whoever calls comeback a new mechanic, stop. It's a revive where the character doesn't change or transform. That's it
31:03 yep these counter gauges are the devs being lazy, gotta make a new ultra just put aoe green and make em counter something and it's done a 2024 ultra is ready to ship. It's lazy, boring and just frustrating to play against. The best ultra in opinion is the Hit on release he was a very good character with a gauge that tied into a 'broken' mechanic and one that can't be powercrept ever. Thats how a good ultra's should have been really good characters with one broken ability Unique to them. They could've used majin vegeta from majin boo fight who does final explosion and if the gauge is full it nullifies endurance, revival, comeback and indestructible and does aoe damage to the team, that would be way more fun as the opponent as you atleast get a chance to play.
I have a bit of a hot take about them and I feel like they are a necessary evil against character that now have cover null and multiple lvl card draw. And now with immunity to card destruction and ki reduction. Still hate them but I can see why they exist.
I think No-Switching makes...."sense", but what doesn't make sense is that there is just no counter-play against it, none at all aside from...errr I guess having a character who can survive being the one who gets locked in???
I think majin vegetas lock was necessary right now. The meta has been heavily turles/ buu saga unkillable teams because of sub count reduction and endurance/comeback and almost EVERY SINGLE game went to timer. To me I would like 1000 majin vegetas before I play in that meta again. They created the unfun unkillable teams they have to make someone like him to nullify it.
I think zenkais have value just being on banners because of bench value like grn ss3 goku buffs saiyans with his zenkai ability and if this was dokkan you just couldn't pull for him for years on end. thats the difference with this game and dokkan, dokkan once a characters lifespan in content runs out their value runs out but in legends they have value until they hard get replaced by the same or similar z ability + zenkai ability combo. we're still using EX gokua to this day on bench for his hp imagine if he was taken completely off banners
The issue with Goresh is that he doesn’t consider that the vast majority of players are casuals who don’t play the game past platinum. Most of the characters he says are bad, are still pretty good and very useable, ie: GT spirit bomb Goku, revival Pikkon, heck, even super Vegeta. Like I said, for the vast majority of players, these characters are very useable. Also, who the heck actually plays this game to top rank PvP that isn’t a content creator?
You know what's Funny despite the whole Son Family Allegations we still never got a LL Tag Namek Goku and Namek Piccolo that have a Preparation Mode for a Spirit Bomb same with GT Goku as well as Buu Saga Goku like what gives!?
Aoe green cards would be so much better to play against if it reset to neutral and couldn't be comboable. I also think if you tie in dokabaki Impact both with number and timer it should reset to neutral and not be a coin flip, because losing the match or momemtum because of a coin flip out of my control is not a good feeling, and they need to make the gauge consistent because there times where that shit is slow, and times where it's fast to react too.
My biggest issue right now are the AOE Green cards with Cover null. Characters these days are just spamming green after green after green. And the counter unique gauges.
It does definitely feel like your opponent gets a green card everytime they gain an advantage, even if their kit doesn't actually supply green cards or carries one like Whis. Especially Ultra units.

I mean kai is a side banner unit, glorio is one of the headlining units of the new db anime
@jhoanmelotheonionring5616 but that's not the point tho, it doesn't matter if you are side unit or the main unit, what the devs give a unit is to either break the cycle of what we are use too or keep giving us the same thing over and over again.
Super Vegeta in a crater: “Damn, he really didn’t hold back” 😂
Goresh, how does it feel beating Toon in almost every “Guess that Dokkan Unit!”
for real thought, Goresh is right. in fact i only play half the year, the 3 months of hypeness during anni and carnival celebrations. then i take a 3 month cool down until the next celebration.
Watching the counter gauge part of the video after green VB dropped is crazy cause that boi just don’t give a fuck
If Legends made Ultra banners not garbage and the rates even just a smidge better. Bring back consistent, good regular banners with say, 2 SP's with every new LF. And get rid of Exs finally. Fixes SO MANY problems right there.
10:51 As uncreative as Auto dodge gauges are I strongly believe they have even more of an impact than synchro gauge in terms of combat
Synchro gauges so far have worked to give us a new, better unit mid combat with its own mechanics but that’s only two characters so far
Meanwhile, there have been about 6 auto dodge gauges (UUI, Ultra Gohan, UG4, UGB, Ultra Janemba and new UMV) and all these units they belong to have changed the meta because they simply prevent you from playing the game. Auto dodging literally stops people from attacking and in most cases punishes you for playing as you should and the fact that all of these units were Meta defining is alarming
He says to wait till big festivals to summon. Like brother I have been doing that for years on this game
I didnt even know how to charge step until late last year around legends fest or early 2024. i alwys tried but never could figure out the timing.
34:15 i’m tripping or is Rage Shenron in the wrong spot in the characters screen, he came out way after S17
5:45 they did it for goku and frezia for 5th anni cuz for a headliner anni unit they weren’t great
20:09 I don't think having 6 top tier units in one team is a horrible idea when we have proud rules exist.
I think they should release more units like hit. He is actually fun like you actually have to play to use him
30:51 i think counter gauges are not a bad addition but just giving it to alot of characters with out a certain way for other characters to counter them is the issue (gogeta blue was almost there but they just restricted him to strikes and u have to chain them)
26:21 This is exactly what I thought about Vegeta, we need a strong and fun-to-play Vegeta, not another brainless unit.
48:50 S17 was more hype than the whole 2023 Festival units put together but aight, found the UI fan I guess.
Bro can't get over Glorio😂
If the legends team really would have put thought into characters kit, they would make it so majin vegera has an aoe blue with a chance to faint
I couldn't agree more I literally hate when they add characters that's extremely outdated to banners it's annoying and frustrating
I really like how diverse the releases were in the side banner department. However, if we are to get a lot of underrated characters like the crusher corps or possessed trunks, but they're actual hot garbage, I much prefer the LF and random recycled EX unit format. At least there we had some surprises like yellow ex metal cooler
8:38 Dokkamdave momento
I love unhinged goresh
Justice for namek piccolo
6:30 they do whatever for hype units cuz people are gonna summon anyway and they give less hype units extremely broken kits to compensate
Goresh uncensored 😍
I feel like the “counter” unique gauges should be strictly for OP characters like UI Goku, Beast G, Fusions, etc.
3:00 ok so i have something to say about this
doesn't shin literally have the exact same thing as glorio??????
I think the LF banners should be 7 steps with a LF guaranteed ticket
I preferred when they released units that had some relation to the one previous. By tag, saga, etc. Instead of kinda sticking to one or two sagas
That's it
5:23 didn’t tag goku Frieza get a balance change?
make this man a dev
They created the unfun unkillable teams they have to make someone like him to nullify it.
beast as the next ultra would make me quit
Goresh directly abusing the legends devs 💀
the fact that Vegeta clan wasnt even in top 5 in and when they got top tier units they dont even buff the tag
45:27
Daddy Goresh responded to me
You gonna comeback for legends fest?
@ idk, I fell for the majin vegeta bait since I’m a Vegeta clan fan and have no cc
@@nubberton1345 I skipped his banner so yeah
Honestly for counter gauges I'd just rather have ui gokus gauge because it doesn't punish u for playing the game unlike other gauges
Orange Piccolo should have gotten a better unique equip.
7:28
1. It’s an Ultra
2. It’s Gohan
they have done the cover null after landing a card this year with shin
I remember yesterday I was hit by 7 aoe greens in one combo by ultra vegeta
Goku black zamasu tag into merged for sure.... 😅
Its sad that i only summon or play the game anymore is during kegends fest or anni. Otherwise i cant be bothered to ever summon
@@joshuasmith4643 Turles, Tree of might Goku, Majin Vegeta, even freaking God Goku.
