You want to get as close to 21 without getting over it… every cards value is what you see, K Q and J are worth 10, and A is either 10 or 1 whichever is more beneficial to you (if you’re at 15 and get an A it’s value will be 1, if you have 9 and get an A it’s value will be 10)
So seeing this one guy at minute 8:35 already having a Queen and a King (value 20) and still getting a new card (it being a J) is pretty wild! That dude got nearly as close to 21 as possible (only way to get closer would have been an A or 1) and got a J (additional 10) he screwed up big time! Haha.
So… now you can get angry at it too!

This is the first time I’ve seen one of these where they’ve spoken to the people who re-stock the cards. She thanks the woman and they reply that she’s welcome. This has a greater meaning in a system where they’re both performing a required function. It’s so sweet.
That or she's been trained to say thanks as to play up the "sweet dealer" routine. Just like how they get them to half mumble their words.
Assume the worst about gambling, it's not something to romanticize.
I actually work as a dealer and we do that out of respect for shufflers, nobody tought us anything.

This reminds me of late night UK TV when i was in my late teens i had a real issue with insomnia and nightly when programming would finish they had a thing called Super Casino, mainly roulette. It put me to sleep nightly
the only thing worse than that guy splitting 10s (and somehow managing to get lucky doing it) was find calm doubling down on 20. lmfao.
And yet, the dealer responded to that play. Find calm was playing 5d blackjack to get extra personal attention in the commentary.
Not to mention increase RUclips engagement

Blackjack's way easier to understand than Baccarat - you want to get the closest to 21 without going over, every card is the value on the card, except the face cards (J Q K) are worth 10, and the Ace is either 1 or 11, whichever amount keeps you at or below 21 (for instance, if you have an A and a 6, you would have 17, but then if you hit and get a 9, the A changes to being a 1 so you now have a score of 16 rather than 26). If you go over 21, you lose. Hitting on a 20 is insane, since you're only safe if you get an Ace which are obviously very low odds. Single deck Blackjack is also the easiest game to count cards during, which is why double deck Blackjack exists.

@BeckettSmeckett basically of you have two of the same card you can split them, essentially quadrupling your money if you win. Usually you wanna do it if you get two 10's

Baccarat has more simple gameplay since it’s pure chance and requires no player action besides placing bets but is harder to follow since the way the cards are totaled isn’t as intuitive as blackjack.

How does the computer know when a split happens? There has to be someone behind the screen for that I think.
Cards are scanned, and the dealer is looking at the screen telling her who is doing what.. not rocket science
Because there are little people inside the computer. That's how computers know anything.
She IS the "someone behind the screen." The camera we're viewing is right at the top of a screen which is showing her everyone's names, which "seat" they're at, and every bet/hit/split they make, in real time. If you notice, every card has a barcode in the middle of it. When she pulls the cards from the deck, they pass over that little barcode scanner at the base of the dispenser. The computer knows what card it is (and where it goes) before she even flips it over for us to see. Then it's just up to her to put every card in its correct spot on the table so we can view it on the camera.
