  • CINE 100, aka Visual Storytelling, is a semester-long course that comprises one hour of lecture and two hours of studio work. The goal of the course is to develop an understanding of the foundational concepts of filmmaking. From screenplay to mise en scene, to the relationship of the performer and narrative to the cinematic frame, students have the opportunity to learn these concepts through a hands-on approach.
CINE 100 students write seven short scripts and then produce, shoot or direct a final scene as part of a production team. This course is taught by Cinema Program Director Dr. Robert Tregenza.
