Fun fact, "Turm III" is a name Gaijin made up. The real name is "Erprobungsträger mit 3-Achsen stabilisiertem Turm". I assume they made the name up because they didn't and won't add 3-axis stabilization.
Supposedly, they haven't modeled the turret correctly. It suppose to stay level even if you're on a side hill slope. So your sights stay level with the horizon up to a max degree.
WT does not capture the 3 axis stabilizer. Please buff ;) Vertical - Yes Horizontal - Yes Pivot - No (crosshair still stays the same as the turret slant)
The name suggests that this vehicle was never intended to go into combat. Instead this vehicle seems to be only a little something-something to try out this new 3-axis stabilised turret design/mechanism. Should this turret prove itself in the trials, an actual combat vehicle would have to be designed at a later stage.
I have been making this comment since they added this feature like 2-3 years ago. Somehow he still doesn't understand how it works and has never noticed the literal thousands of comments he's received. It seriously, and I mean SERIOUSLY, drives me absolutely mental. He has to guess whether or not he is on spawn radar and it's so frustrating lol

I just don’t use heat at all in this thing since I hate getting sideshots with zero damage. I just use the APDS and then the 30mm for the light targets.
That is because that tank was designed to have a three-way access stabilizer so when you crashed over Hills at an angle your site left-to-right will still be level
Day 171: Phly, you should play the Hawk III Chinese fighter; 900lbs of bombs in a biplane at 1.0 that you can dogfight in after dropping. Totally balanced.
The purpose of the 'strange' design is that it was supposed to have a fixed barrel to the turret, and rotate about all three rotation axis centered in the middle of the turret. The advantage is that it is stabilized in all 3 rotations, meaning in traverse, elevation/depression but also 'roll' (i.e. rotating about the axis of the gun) which probably makes it much more comfortable to operate than conventional tanks. The disadvantage is that you have to store all your ammunition in the turret, and that you also have to fit is within a half-spherical shape. The actuation of the turret also probably causes a lot of the weight, although looking at the technical drawings the constraint/bearing design is actually quite simple and straightforward. It is a shame that gaijin never properly modeled this tank how it is supposed to operate.
So the whole attraction to this thing is the ball turret. That's why you could take a hit straight in the face and survive, the shot disintegrates in the body since most tankers instinctively shoot that first, leaving the ball turret online and give you the chance to shoot back. It's kind of a neat rig 🤔
This is a great great tank lesson in post-war tank construction history - one of the pieces of the legwork required for the MBT-70 was the 3-axis stabilization. Great stuff!
I think we should still get the shell impact kill cam. That helps you to learn the tank. But I agree that it shouldn't show you where exactly they shot from
What’s funny with the turm is the stabilizer…it’s a 3 plane, for horizontal and vertical stability and the 3rd plane is if your on an incline the turret keeps it self horizontal to the incline
I felt that FV4005's pain there, just as I understand the pain of any Ratel that gets one-shot (happens a lot). Speaking of Ratels, the ZT3A2 should have more depression in the gunsight, by the way, because you can guide its ATGMs further down in 3rd person. They should at least make that possible through a commander sight, which it currently doesn't have. The best I can do is use binoculars, click on an enemy in the distance, exit binoculars, then fire in 3rd person without moving at all, and just hope the target doesn't move, as I can't see it at that range. If I want to use the gunner sight, on most maps I have to expose a lot of myself to get on target, and it's hard not to one-shot that thing. Heck, its launcher counts as an ammorack, and I'm pretty sure getting hit there kills you, meaning it's not even safe to find a spot where only the launcher is exposed. Even if you don't get one-shot, if you get shot while guiding an ATGM, it causes the vehicle to rock so violently that it usually either steers the ATGM straight into the ground, or causes it to miss last second. Not to mention the thing must glow like a beacon from the air with how much it attracts CAS. The only advantages of it are the tandem charge ATGM, its ability to climb very steep slopes, and the fact that its guidance system allows its ATGMs to ignore the ATGM jammer on vehicles like the PUMA. However, in the case of the PUMA, it doesn't matter anyway, because they have a laser warning system, and will have backed into cover long before the ATGM arrives. That being said, if you play it really sneaky and nobody sees you, it's decent at close range combat, because its 3rd person guidance allows it to shoot over the crests of hills, and its ATGMs are powerful enough to one-shot most targets. And this has been a rant on a vehicle that has nothing to do with this video.
I am really happy that I preordered this tank. It’s absolutely nuts and that coax 30 has saved my ass so many times, and has sniped so many planes and choppers. Also, somehow I’m yet to get ammoracked in it. Usually I die to arty or they nab my crew. Oh also I’ve somehow been blessed by the snail a lot of the time when I use this because people just stare at me for a moment and usually _somehow_ bounce their shot off of me
PSA: Currently, this vehicle is a Gajin *SCAM* it should have a three axis stabilizer and gajin even promoted it, but currently ingame *it does NOT* have the three plane stab.
As soon as I learnt it was a ball turret it all made sense. Still a ludicrous design, and no surprise it didn't catch on. But a radical attempt at improving turret movement I can believe as the reason for this ammo rack tank
The full name of the tank more or less translates into "Test/Prototype vehicle with three axis stabilized turret". These kinds of names is also the reasons why even the "full" names of some german low to medium tier vehicles are still abbreviation of the complete name of the tanks. A prime example for this is the *Sd.Kfz 234/2* its full name in the details is *s.Pz.Sp.Wg (5cm 39/1 L60) Sd.Kfz 134/2* and it´s actual full name, which wouldn`t nearly fit in the in-game description, is *schwerer Panzer Spähwaggen (5cm 39/1 L60) Sonderkraftfahrzeug 134/2* (= heavy armoured Scoutvehicle (5cm 39/1 L60) Special motorized car 134/2)
So basically Gaijin added a protoype testbed (hence the paper armor) which entire purpose was to test the 3-plane-stabilizer ball turret design and they are not even adding the 3-plane-stabilizer to it, but give it a 30mm autocanon rather than its original 20mm autocannon instead? Yep, seems like something Gaijin would do.
Actually jealous how easily your tank can get up that highway bridge in that city map, I usually play rank 3 top tier and by the time I climb up that with my Churchill, the game would be over

Go to the key bind settings menu and change the scroll wheel control setting from camera to range. You could also set up a key bind for range finding and the tank will automatically aim and set the range for you (only works with laser range finding MBT era tanks thank god)
But isn't that what a Tank should be in a game? Fun to play and good in one category like firepower and weak in others. And it seemed like it has really quite good firepower, so I guess it's only reasonable to make it less armored
