Returning to the blueprint that helped them get off to a 14-0 start this year, the 18th-ranked Baylor women got balanced scoring throughout the lineup and shot nearly 50% in knocking off 22nd-ranked West Virginia, 65-58, Saturday afternoon at Foster Pavilion.
Bouncing back from a road loss at BYU, the Bears (18-5, 7-5) picked up their fifth top-25 win of the season and beat the Mountaineers (20-3, 9-3) for the first time in two years.
Darianna Littlepage-Buggs scored 10 of her game-high 14 points in the first half and added 10 rebounds for a double-double, while fellow sophomore Bella Fontleroy also posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards.
After getting beat badly on the board at BYU, the Bears finished with a 41-33 edge against West Virginia.
Leading for almost 35 minutes, Baylor was up by as many as 13 in the second quarter and was up 36-28 at intermission. The Mountaineers did make a run, pulling within five late, but Baylor forced a couple turnovers to clinch the win.
Aijha Blackwell and Dre'Una Edwards scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, helping the Bears survive a 19-turnover game. JJ Quinerly scored 11 of her team-high 13 points in the second half, while Jordan Harrison and Kyah Watson had 12 points apiece.
Baylor will go back on the road to face 24th-ranked and league-leading Oklahoma (16-6, 10-1) at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Okla. The Sooners are playing a road game at Iowa State later Saturday.

how is West Virginia #22 in the ACC but they’re 20-2? They should at least be #3 because Iowa is #2

They are in the Big 12. Probably not ranked higher because of their non-conference schedule.
