Yup! I had an album (my very first) of a Christian singer named Lauren Daigle (I don’t listen to her anymore) my mom got it from Barnes and Nobles the album from the outside was scratched despite the packaging and the cd was scratched. When I got my first K-POP album, it was so neat! My cousin has a “The Weeknd” album and it’s like any other western album.

Western artists don't consider packaging as an important thing cuz they usually spend years to record a new album and put all their emotions into it so the purpose of their albums is the music the emotion in their life not just packaging and visuals.
The packaging makes it also way more expensive. You wouldn't pay 30 bucks for an EP with 5 songs on it over here, but you easily pay that much for EPs by some Korean groups just for having nice packaging and some photobooks.
This is how u know jre is a real kpop fan.. not just reacting for views..

But everyone has to agree that the packaging of kpop albums is just on another level! So many different sizes and materials but all are so pretty and unique! 💖

I once bought a Japanese CD (they randomly sold it 4,5 years ago here in Germany in an electronic-things store where you can get videogames, computers, mobile phones, fridges, washing mashines... and I fell so asfsfefetrdgfhdhd and it had a little pictures-thingy behind the inside of where you can see the albums-cover with a total of around 12 pictures of the 3 female members and I fell so special at this moment, but I forgot that korean CD was an other level xD I just fell so special at that time, cause German CD/English CD you get in Germany often has no group-pictures inside or only 1 or 2 group-pictures...)
Oh and by the way, this video makde me doing a mistake: I got me a BTS-album and and iKON-backpack right after seeing this video...

Ja kann ich verstehen ^^ Die Website wo ich bestellt habe (am fucking Sonntag) verspricht mir ich würde meine Sachen so gegen Dienstags-Donnerstag bekommen. Ist schnell, aber kein Wunder, wenn alles, außer die Vorbestellungen schon in Deutschland rumliegen. Wie ichs kaum aushalten kann jetzt bald "Love yourself" (Mein Handy wollte das fast in "Lieber Youssef" korrigieren dafuq? -.-) und bei dem Rucksack, den braucht ich nicht, weil ich gefühlt 6 Handtaschen und 2 Rucksäcke habe, aber auch wenn er bei 36€ lag, dachte ich mir, das ich den dennoch haben wollte ^^ Ey wie die eine, die ich auf der Arbeit immer sehe, dann wohl Augen machen wird, falls die weiß wer iKON ist, wenn ich den Rucksack irgendwann dann mal benutzen und mit nehmen werde xD (ich seh auf der Arbeit öfter mals eine, die ist auch KPop fan und das weiß ich nur, weil die mich spontan mal gefragt hatte, ob ich wüste wer Girls Generation ist und sie jammerte, das sie sich keinen Merch leisten kann, aber dennoch lief sie am nächsten Tag mit ner SHINee-Tasche rum...)

I'm scared of what will happen when I do get money though because I'm a multifandom and I won't know which album to buy... Just a tip for deciding, which to buy first: Choose from albums of which you love every single track and then look at the packaging, often there are really plain/classic packagings but sometimes they can be REALLY awesome, like something you would never find from western artists... Therefore you could start watch unboxings (if you don't do yet) Those would be my personal tips if you really do not have an idea at all which album to buy
Oh and I don't know which country you live in but I made the experience that it's the cheapest option to buy at an actual store, so if there's one near by you should check it out and compare it to other prices on online sites etc. and be careful with shipping fee and possible taxes that could come with importing
