Cozy games for me are games with low frustrations. Light combat is fine if I can set it so I don’t constantly die. I like games that let you customize gameplay to your preferences.
Pikmin has always been a cozy game for me. Vibrant colors, cheerful music. Each "day" is only 15 minutes long, which you can spend growing Pikmin, collecting fruit, and treasure hunting. And whenever you're feeling more adventurous, you can take your group of Pikmin and play it like an RTS. Although the first one has a limited number of "days", the sequels let you play it at your own pace.
Thank you so much for this video! I had not heard of most of these!! I don’t really like farming, but like the other parts of farming games (crafting, mining, exploring, quests for villagers) so it is a breath of fresh air seeing cozy games that don’t require farming. You’re right, cozy means different things to different people. Farming stresses me out, but puzzles, life sims, narrative games and light management games calm me/are cozy to me. So thank you again!
I'm so glad this has been helpful for you. I feel puzzle and platformer games especially don't get shown much love in the cozy community and deserve more recognition. :) Happy Gaming!!
With Little Kitty, Big City, I made it my goal to steal as many cell phones from people as possible and put them in a nice little pile. At one point I had probably 50 phones. Then I completed a phone-based achievement in the game and my pile despawned...
I really like Islands of Insight! The world is gorgeous, exploration is great and you can switch between first and third person view while navigating the landscapes, and a lot of the puzzles are just challenging enough to keep you engaged and wanting to uncover more! If you wanna just explore and solve some pretty puzzles, def check this one out 💜
Took the wind out of your sails? "Goodbye Farming" and "Non-Farming" is literally in the title and thumbnail so you should have already expected this list did NOT include anything like Stardew... Sorry to tell you but there are TONS of games in the "cozy" genre that don't involve farming. Not all cozy games have to be like Stardew and I'm sure tons of people would agree. At the end of the day, "cozy" is what YOU make of it no matter the game. You may only see all the farming ones since that's more your style and what comes up in your recommendations since it's tailored to YOU but I can promise you it's not 99.999%. Search "Non-Farming Cozy Games" here on RUclips and you'll see an endless list of results. But thanks for watching and commenting to boost the video! Much appreciated!😉 Happy Gaming!!
cozy for me would be no fighting and a relaxed pace (which can be hit and miss with management games unfortunately). I didn't know about the quilts and cats game, thanks for mentioning it !
Sorry about that. Looks like it ended up not getting released on Switch yet. My mistake. Their website shows you can wishlist it on Switch and buy it on PC right now.
Oh no! I just looked into it and it looks like the release on the switch was delayed so right now it's only available on Steam. I don't see an ETA for when it'll be released on switch yet. So sorry about that!
I dont mind combat, in fact I kind of prefer a bit of combat in my games. I think I'm nore of a chill gamer than a cozy gamer. I love games like Powerwash Simulator and House Flipper for actual chill games. Some of my comfort games are Pokemon, Dragon Quest Treasures and Dragon Quest Builders 2. Theres some combat and progression, but its not stressful. Games like Dave the Diver, Dredge, Harvestella, where its cool and calm, but theres some little combat to give it some zing. But its not soul crushing if you lose or "die". Theres no consequences that will have you compeltely resetting your game. I loved games like Fantasy Life and Ever Oasis on 3ds and they were the perfect blend of cozy with combat. Progression without stress and regret. Any game that doesnt make me lose every item when I die, doesnt make me lose out on story options through choices I make in the game and combat doesnt have me crying of frustration.

Great top list, I think everybody can find some of their fav titles here. ❤ We're also leaving a small hint, that another cozy game is on the way - our Hotel Galactic is coming to Kickstarter very soon 👀
Yay 🤗 glad to see some Playstation options ❤❤ i will definitely check out hand in hand -its a similar graphic style to a game i played a couple years ago.
wow than g od fotr this video all the other videos are garming but i dont want farming not right now at keadt bust mybr another time but not now thank again
@@donwald3436 Just because it comes from a specific place doesn't mean it's NOT popular in other places. So because it's from Taiwan are you saying it's not "a thing" in the United States or anywhere else? "lol" We aren't talking about WHERE it came from. It's 100% a thing/popular in Japan. Regardless, WHO CARES? This is a video about cozy games... not where Boba comes from sooooo, your point?? 👀 Have a fantabulous day!!
For me, cozy is mainly any game that doesn’t make me feel rushed
I feel like id agree, but at the same time games like moving out or overcooked are so cozy, but they still rush you
To me, a cozy game is a game where you don’t fight or get attacked.
Is that a strict rule or are there exceptions like stardew valley and animal crossing where those aspects take a minor role?
@@VioletStone100 And Dinkum where animals can attack you.
Same, for me is exactly that or at least games I dont want to scream because a monster is following me to kill me🤣🤣
@@JustOneiro Yeah, I call Dinkum a cozy game but, sometimes, I have second thoughts about whether it qualifies.
People consider Subnautica a cozy game. Somehow.
Cozy games for me are games with low frustrations. Light combat is fine if I can set it so I don’t constantly die. I like games that let you customize gameplay to your preferences.
Love farming games but It's always nice to have other options so you don't burn out.
These all look awesome! Thank you so much for the showcase!
Finally, a list where Stardew Valley isn’t every single entry
Stardew Valley is definitely not my definition of a cozy game due to its time constraints. I just cannot fit all required activities in a 13-min day.
Pikmin has always been a cozy game for me.

Lol, that's cute and hilarious. hehe
Paper Trail certainly deserves to be on this list, I had a lovely time! Hope they do Paper Trail 2
Little kitty big city is a very cute way to burn a night.

Couldn't agree more! I've been dying to play in on stream. It's absolutely beautiful. :)
0:03 what’s that game called? The one that has the pc catching a fish.
I believe that one is Roots of Pacha.
I was going to ask the same
I want fishing, crafting and maybe magic. Loads of people love farming -- and that's wonderful, for them.
I'm always down for a good magic game. ;-)
Wow thanks for sharing! The cozy games that I know are all farming games 😂 this is refreshing
"YA LIKE STARDEW VALLEY?!"
Me: No...
The 99.999% of the "Cozy" Genre: Oh... Well that took the wind out of my sails.

I'm kinda intrigued on the Hotel game..... It's ran by what appears Raccoons... and raccoons are full of chaos and shennanigans. ^_^
I definitely want to check out Hotel Hustle with you. LOL Instantly thought of you when I saw it. haha
Is quilts and cats of calico actually out yet on the switch cause I can't find it in the eshop?😢
Sorry about that. Looks like it ended up not getting released on Switch yet. My mistake. Their website shows you can wishlist it on Switch and buy it on PC right now.
Anyone know what game that is at 0:03 in the intro with the beachy vibes? Looks like something I’d be into.
Hi, it’s a game called Roots of Pacha.
@@lumberrobot8939 thank you!
Hi! Was wondering what the game was in the into where someone catches a jelly fish? I look the look of the art style
That would be Promenade that's discussed at 13:04. :)
I’d love the Quilts & Cats of Calico-but it’s not coming up in the e-Shop at all. 😣

I would continue this top with the Island Hoppers, I play this game 24/7, have you tried it?
No, I'm not aware of that one. Thanks for the recommendation and thanks for watching!

Dang, why is every game I wanted only for PC 😭😭😭
Little kitty big city is on Xbox too.
A game isn't a cozy game for me unless there IS farming! D:
Resident Evil is a very cozy and cottage core game. Would recommend. And very cute style too!
I got Little Kitty, Big City last week, and finished it in 4 days
It's a cute little game meant to have short game play. It was super cute. Congrats on finishing it!
@JadeMistGaming Honestly, it was still pretty fun! My favorite part were collecting the hats!
Great video! What games do you think will be your favorite?
So hard to choose a favorite! lol
Def recommend duck detective so funny and fun
Great top list, I think everybody can find some of their fav titles here. ❤
We're also leaving a small hint, that another cozy game is on the way - our Hotel Galactic is coming to Kickstarter very soon 👀
Thanks for the recommendation! I just checked out the trailer and it looks amazing!! Excited to see the launch on kickstarter. 🥰
I agree I think Zelda and Harry Potter is cozy !
So many to look forward to
Yay 🤗 glad to see some Playstation options ❤❤ i will definitely check out hand in hand -its a similar graphic style to a game i played a couple years ago.
The other game was called Hollow Knight for anyone interested 🤗 it's a super cute little goth style game.
I fell in love with Hand in Hand as soon as I figured out what the heck was going on with controlling both characters. LOL
you have an amazing name haha we need to collab some day
Lol!! I was just thinking you have an amazing name as well! hahaha love that!
So many cool games!!
So many games, so little time!! lol
For now I play cozy grove
Surprised Palia isn't on the list ... cause the farming in there makes me want to go play Stardew Valley.
Palia is considered a farming type game. These games are "Non-Farming" games to check out to get away from farming a bit. ;-)
wow than g od fotr this video all the other videos are garming but i dont want farming not right now at keadt bust mybr another time but not now thank again
