Thank you! Actually 43! Lots of sunscreen in my younger years. And for daily use I love EltaMD daily sunscreen with tint. Events out my sun spots and great protection!
Thanks for this video I've said this a lot to your videos lol. I'm 48 but I've never really had problems with bags or dark circles unless I was sick or had bad allergies. However, I recently lost a bunch of weight and I have new fine lines around my eyes, circles and bags. I guess you can't win them all lol.
Hi Dr Wong, I would love a video about glasses for East Asians ( Chinese, Japanese, Korean). I have a hard time with glasses falling down so I constantly have to push them up
I make sure that area is dry, then I rub a tiny bit of deodorant either side of my nose but not near eyes, it’s sweat that makes my glasses slip, oh and clean the little eye pads on the glasses.😀
Aloha! I recently discovered (this week) your channel and have been watching your videos ever since. I'm so glad I came across your channel as I've always wished there were more information on eye care - including tips when wearing make-up or when using Latisse. Due to the abundant and easily accessible information on skincare on the internet and my dermatologist, I have been able to be on top of my skincare regiment but I wasn't giving the same TLC for my eyes. When I had to get prescription glasses last year, I became more motivated to better take care of my eyes. I think with the knowledge you share on your channel, I can definitely do better for my eyes! Mahalo! PS. Few years ago, I moved to Oahu for work and fell in love with Hawaii. Hence, I moved back to Seattle but visit Hawaii couple times a year. I have a special in my ❤ for Hawaii.
Thank you so much for your kind words! Yes, I think so many of us don't take proper care of our eyes until it's too late! And Oahu is a beautiful place, I'm glad you got to experience it!
Hawaii is highly overrated in my view ! Their residential's have no sidewalks SMH . There's always a overcast SMH there is a methamphetamine crisis / epidemic going on there SMH they're downtown areas look a lot like L.A .SMH and their food yuck ! Alot of spam and poke YUK !!!!
Good video! I would love the know the basics of taking care of the skin face. I often hear we should do a couple of steps before/after washing it but I have no Idea where to start. I don't wear any makeup too. But other bloggers get payed to sell you Creams... So I just want to have a good skincare thanks xx
Hey Jenna, Thanks for your suggestions. Keep a watch out for the upcoming videos. If you have anything in particular you would like me to address about these issues, let me know.
very helpful as always. I would like to see a review from you regarding fillers (hyaluronic acid)for under eyes and botox for the frown. I heard that it could be dangerous to put fillers on the top area from the face because if it happens an error it could affect the optic nerve. I would appreciate your opinion about this. I am 43 years old and I was thinking about doing those treatments but this information stops me. Thank you! Greetings from Argentina!
You are absolutely correct, there is an artery that runs right there that supplies the optic nerve, so a very rare but devastating complication of filler in the glabella region is blindness.
Great video as usual Dr Rupa! I cry a lot haha I will try to avoid it Would you make one video about sunken/hollow eyes? Or is the same problem? I don't have bags but I see my eyes sunken compared with my nose? Also is it safe to use castor oil in my lashes? I'm scared to use the serums.
omg - i cry every time i watch 'This is Us" . And i watch it late at night too. So, i should have included that in there. Don't watch that show late at night.
Hi Dr Rupa. I just ran across your channel today & have watched at least 10 videos. I'm 72. I dont have bags but recently discovered I have 10 to 20 oil bumps under each eye. I guess its since Covid, spending so much time alone at home. Each oil bump will "give up" its oil contents fairly easily but by the next day they are full again. I dont squeeze or pinch them, just slide one tong of a tweezer across the top. Since I discovered them, I no longer put any kind of moisturizer under my eyes. I do occasionally use foundation if I need to go out (doctors or groceries). When I remove my foundation & eye makeup I use Pond's cold cream & wash that off with warm water on a clean white wash cloth. Any ideas on their origin or suggestions for prevention and/or removal? Thank you. PS I don't usually have oily skin.
+ Dr. Rupa Wong WOW You look awesome without any make-up, Some women genuinely look great without anything and makeup impoves there already good looks. I've been told that I look good and younger without makup but I WAS much younger when I was told that. These days I have to call in the concrete mixer to cover up my face these days lol.
Margaret, it is so interesting how we can have things that neither of our parents had. It can also be aggravating! I hope that you can successfully eat less salt and drink more water. You won't regret it!
This is so insightful thank you. I had like a million “Ah-Ha” moments watching this video, specially when you talked about the blood vessels under the eyes and the allergens!!! It’s so crazy how every time I get my allergies and I sneeze constantly, the dark circles look more prominent!!! Mind=blown. Thank you!
For my allergies that make my eyes itch....my eye dr said to use Baby Shampoo. I use it at night after removing makeup & in morning. The antibacterial helps....I never have itch eyes now!
Absolutely! Baby shampoo is what I recommend to all of my patients with blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelid margin). It's inexpensive and works great.
@@DrRupaWong How can you recommend baby shampoo full of perfume ? my doctor recommended me and i said no. I wash my eyes with salty water and it is better.
Love your videos. Thank you for sharing all of this helpful information. You should include MD after your name, you earned it. Too many “doctors” offering their expert opinions on RUclips.
Hi, I just found this and I tend to have genetics of large eye bags not dark just very visible. I don’t have that yet but I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be passed down to me, I was wondering if doing these things would prevent them.
I don't have the dark circles and very slight crows feet, my problem is definitely the bags and almost completely hooded eyes. Is there anything 'non-surgical' that can be done for hooded eyes? I'm 59 with medium light skin tone.
Thanks for this video Dr Wong! I have dark circles that also look a bit hollow- I’ve been thinking about fillers and noticed you mentioned it in this video. Sounds like you have had filler? Does the skin gets stretched and require continuous refills every few years? Thanks!!
i had fillers about 7 years ago in the tear trough area. It's an area i inject pretty commonly and it definitely helps reduce the hollow appearance. Some people can also do fat transfer, but I think fillers are a nice option. Last about 12 months in that area.
Hi Dr. Wong. Another great video teaching me I need to take care of my eyes too. The Plexaderm TV commercials catch my attention ever time I see it. It "magically" reduces eye bags. I just turned 60 and always had eye bags. Please make a video or comment about products like this. Does it work? Are there any bad long term effects? Aloha.
I just found your channel and I am so grateful for your content. I have watched several so far and have a question you may have answered already in another one that I simply haven’t gotten to yet. When I was younger I had a beautician wax my eyebrows too much and very wrong. I think she most likely damaged the follicles because they never grew back. My eyebrows went from a Brook Shields natural state to pencil thin. I am in my 40’s and know thinning often happens as we age. Is there any thing I can do to give the appearance of thicker brows and more of them without having to use makeup?
@@DrRupaWong Not really. I’ve mixed VitE oil with castor and coconut oil and put that on them. I’m wary of spending money on stuff to try without know the right ones to use.
I had an allergy test years ago and I reacted to everything. Everything. Tried every allergy medication made. Then had an allergy blood test where I was told I'm technically not allergic, I just react to it all, therefore, no medication will work. So, where does that leave me?!
Dr. Rupo do you know of any professional in Southern Illinois that does the shot injections to decrease the appearance of baggie under eyes in Brown and Black women 60 and older? Help please 😏
Dr Rupa, thank you for your informative videos , i found them very interesting and helpful. I have dark circles under my eyes , its genetic, i am blond with blue eyes, also i had retinal detachment in my left eye and postsurgery secondary glaucoma side effect. i use creams to treat the darkness and would like to know if to take more aggressive treatment in my case ( fillers , botox etc . ) is it recommended any side effects to it or maybe there is something you would recommend looking at with my conditions specifically and maybe to stay only with the creams . Thank you a lot
Hey Dr. Rupa! Are you familiar with "Floppy Eyelid Syndrome"? Like is that really even a thing lol? I had an eye doctor tell me that I had it and that I should tape my eyes shut when I sleep to prevent my eyelids from flipping inside out and causing dryness from rubbing against the pillowcase. 😫
You're 42 years old?...wow...how do you keep your skin so smooth and beautiful😳
Thank you! Actually 43! Lots of sunscreen in my younger years. And for daily use I love EltaMD daily sunscreen with tint. Events out my sun spots and great protection!

Totally, as we age, we love volume in our mid face and if you've recently lost weight, you'll probably notice that as well as wrinkles and fine lines.
Hi Dr Wong,
I would love a video about glasses for East Asians ( Chinese, Japanese, Korean). I have a hard time with glasses falling down so I constantly have to push them up
There are actually glasses that are termed "universal fit" which have a more built up nose bridge. But, that's a great topic!
I make sure that area is dry, then I rub a tiny bit of deodorant either side of my nose but not near eyes, it’s sweat that makes my glasses slip, oh and clean the little eye pads on the glasses.😀
Are you still wearing and loving your magnetic liner and lashes? Can’t tell if you are wearing them in this video. Looks so natural
I was wondering the same thing!!

Yes, i can definitely do one on my skin care regimen! It's actually pretty simple for me. I don't do a ton of steps.
Thank you Dr.Rupa! Im seriously thinking of surgery. Had no clue that my thyroid could have a part of having bags under my eyes.
Hi Dr Rupa, please make more videos about dry eyes, blepharitis, or meibomian gland dysfunction. Thank you!

What are concealers that are safe for sensitive eyes? What brand do you use?
Love your videos!! SO informative

I am 45 and I have developed blue bulging vein under my eye. What could it be the cause? Aging? Eye sight problem? It bothers me so much. Thank you.

What about message the eye area to drain the fluid?
Yes, excellent idea. Actually I'm researching that now and bought some massagers on Sephora to see if they really do help.
Ha I don’t have dark circles under eyes, I have like a half moons either side of my inner corner eye it drives me mad..
i am trying to modify my salt intake.
