I always love seeing people get thrown off by how unexpectedly JACKED Dr. Darling is. Such a funny example of how clothes and behavior can completely alter someone's physical appearance.
That was my exact reaction too!
That's how you do a Clark Kent
I love that 'Take Control' literally tells you what is going to happen with Jesse and Polaris towards the end of the song: 'Polaris... Living now inside of me'. A few days after finishing the game i was listening to the song in the gym and was like: Sam Lake you hack
So here's what's even crazier: there is quite literally a part of the song that, when played backwards, describes events that take place before (and are explained primarily through notes found in) Alan Wake 2. Not even especially important events. Just interesting events tangentially related to Control that you don't even have to know.
In 2019, Sam Lake literally hid a secret, completely unimportant message in a song about his next game that was 4 years away.
Sam Lake you hack.
@@BucklingSwashes you know something even crazier? That RETURN trailer in Quantum Break.
Want more? Max Payne 2 has a TV Show in which the main character is described as being trapped in a nightmare, having slipped into a dark twisted alternate reality of NYC after his dark double, a serial killer, has taken his girlfriend and framed him for the murders the dark double commited. Sam Lake is indeed a hack.
Cant believe Brickster even questioned quiting Dinamite song half-way. Would be the first person playing that game who'd done that
I've seen people waiting for it to start, seeing its a song, and then say nah they'd rather move on. Madness.
Copyright BS. It’s the thing every RUclipsr fears.
If I had a nickel for every time Bricky's lack of story comprehension led to him misunderstanding an incorporeal woman's actions as "betraying" him, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice
Wait when did you get the first nickel?
Ayre lmao
@@DilanExist armored core I assume
Yeah AC6 is the first nickel.
Aww, Bricky didn't listen to Trench on the second loop. He starts with the "we've been invaded", and then goes on a whole 15 minute monologue about him and the hiss.
He looked it up on uncut version tho
He went so fast through the maze he broke the pacing of the song and combat beats lmao.
that's what happened to me, I was so sad when that happened I tried to slow down lmao.
THE GUITAR DARLING IS PLAYING IS ONE OF THOSE BLOWUP ONES YOU GET AT THE SHITTY FAIR GAMES OMFG
Love Remedy’s dedication to musical moments in their games.
So memorable and charming.
its not an ending its a cliff
it's an ocean
It’s not delivery, it’s Digiorno!
It's not just an old gods of Asgard song; it's THE OLD GODS OF ASGARD SONG!
Wait til Bricky realizes he can get the Janitor's Assistant uniform by doing all of Ahti's side jobs
Questioning whether to finish Dynamite or not is not very dynamite of you, Bricky
"I am gonna eat myself some food and mule over what Sam Lake was smoking when he wrote this." - Hahaha, this killed me, I woke up the house laughing.
Dr Darling looks like your average nerd and then ...
You absolutely will have to play The Final Draft in Alan Wake 2, especially because of the amazing reference to how SWOLE Darling is.
I love Bricky getting visibly more and more flustered the further he fot in to Dynamite
This man's title puns are getting out of hand
We need to CONTROL him
28:39 it's from the Finish Man's friends, the Old Gods of Asgard
“Did you miss me?”
“Yeah, a little bit”
“Did you have piss in your sock?”
“NOPE, didn’t have that one”
Hahahahah
I honestly can't wait to see Bricky's full videos on the game and its dlc's
Thinking about it, I've only ever gotten one of those dlcs and I don't even know if I finished it. Now I'm kinda tempted to go back and beat them so I can be excited to see Bricky's reactions to things.
Im kinda suprised fundation came out looking better then alan wake dlc where everthing was summed up to flipping switches on, honesly my mind thought that alan wake dlc was suppose to be cooler but apparently i remembed incorrectly
@@lop90ful1 I liked the AWE DLC a bit more because of the dark moodyness of it. Didn't like the cave structures of foundation that much. Both were stellar additions though and Marshall was a better boss than Hartman.
After Project: Wingman and Control, we have now completed both the ORANGE and RED games.
Can't wait for the GREEN one.
I know I'm super late but 13:07 is impeccable comedic timing for me. Bricky just talking to chat, looking around because he thinks he cleared all the enemies, the sniper staring at him, *missing* point-blank and interrupting Bricky's sentence
At 48:45 - it is a parody of a 1970s song " Dyna-mite " performed by Mud.
Look it up, it's a banger.
"It's not a house, it's a tree"
"It's not a tree, it's a forest"
27:00 With Ahti's help, she's binding the OoP _from the inside._
She ate the path, to quote Marathon Infinity.
57:45 No, that's Darling's ghost.
6:20 this is why we do it man, that shit right there? yeah
Watching Bricky play through control has really made me appreciate it more. Maybe I got bad rolls on the drops or it didn't gel as well on a controller for me but man, this has been a wild ride.
I always forget how incredibly rushed the last bit of the game is, in comparison to the rest of the game. It's one of those games where you really have to embrace the "it's about the journey, not the destination".
True, and it's strange too how the middle of the game can drag on in pacing so much. The game's beginning is chock full of developments, reveals, and great gameplay moments. Then in the mid-game the pacing takes a nosedive into horridly slow for a minute. (at least in my opinion, the mold section is by far the worst section in the game.) Then the story "wraps up" at a break-neck speed in the last 40ish minutes.
I love this game to death, one of the all time greats, but it is not flawless. Not even close. Some of those flaws I can find charming, some not so much.
I disagree. After playing through Max Payne 1 & 2, Alan Wake, and Quantum Break, I was glad we didn't have to do a shit final boss fight.
I lost so much respect for Bricky for even having the thought of leaving in the middle of Darling’s song
underhill might have a point about the mold being a bigger concern 😂
We are back in Control.
It's not a loop, it's a spiral :D
cut to Sam Lake screaming
SAM HACK you LAKE !
That “I’ve been shown so much” “it will now spread” then he says “I” it’s probably the hiss taking darling or at least trying but the exposure to Polaris is protecting him. This game is so interesting
2010 reference in Darling's last message.

Yeah the game kinda sets itself up for failiure by putting some of the best/most memorable parts before the ending that intentionaly or not feels empty and lackluster because it so open to interpretation/solves literally nothing in terms of conflict.
Everyone says that, about Darling. 😅
Maybe Hedron was the friends we made along the way.
Don't worry about the mold bricky. You've farm Phorid for resources before this should be old hat
I guess jesse has a crush on darling
Can we blame her?
Who doesn't?
Don't we all tho?
Dr D is fucking YOKED!!!
this is what I was WAITING FORRRRRR
finshed watching all the videos and 3 minutes later you upload. nice.
Bricky needs to watch Lady of Lore.
Her videos will help him understand
Who would even dream of leaving halfway through Dynamite!!!!
when you get shawshanked by a hack
Has Bricky found out that he can grab grenades and missiles from the air and back at the enemies?
Well, it's dependent on getting the correct upgrade. I think he has it in the later sections of this video, but I think he's too far into the game to pick up that new habit.
It's not an ending, it's an ocean.
Bricky will have fun with Alan Wake 2 lol
Ground Control to Major Tom
Please please please continue The Long Dark!!!
He should have taken the ending more slowly their is alot of dialog he missed.
AH IM CONTROOLING AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
Sam Lake, you hack.
FoR tHe AlGoRiThM
Did Bricky do the clocks mission?
Nope, pretty sure he didn’t do a single Langston mission which is a real shame. The Flamingo, Anchor, and Clock side quests were so awesome.
Release the Shirt art works on your store, Bricky. I promise i will buy it!
The ending definitely felt underwhelming... Like they ran out of time or resources to make it proper... But it's always especially disappointing when it comes at the end of a great game.
On another note, while watching this video, the whole time i was like "Don't skip the Trench monologue, don't skip the Trench monolo... Ah, damn it..."
I was here in the first four minutes because of that thumbnail.
Mannnnnnnn I know you still need to make a video for Control but I really can't wait for you to just play AW2
I'm edging, I'M EDGING.
he's going to start playing it in the coming days. maybe even today
@@apple_with_a_human_butt oh, I
hope, man.
I've been thinking on this ending since you played it on stream, and yeah, it's got issues.
We get the emotional climax of the story, but we don't get the skill climax, and the narrative climax felt hollow.
Jesse has the emotional climax in the death of Hedron, along with the office scene. It was very much a "the power is in you now" moment.
However, the time between that emotional jerk of "I've been relying on Polaris, but now I am/contain Polaris" and the ending confrontation is either a bit too long, or far too close. In other words, Hedron needed to be Obi-Wan Kenobi and die act 2, and we have to soldier on without her, or she needed to die as we were in the final conflict itself.
And sure it's cool that the board gave you the power boost, but it removes the challenge from the end of the game, so you feel like you've been building up for a conflict that doesn't actually occur.
Jesse was clearly struggling hard to cleanse the Hiss from Dylan, but all you the player do is press F.
How I would pitch fixing the ending?
Have the actual climax of the game be at the Hedron death scene. Jesse fights her way in, nearly gets there, then Dylan shows up with the slide projector Pokeballs Hedron, and you follow him directly to the end fight in the Astral plane. Hedron tells you to stop the hiss who are corrupting The Board/Everything (Perhaps make it a binary choice with a bad end if the Hiss/Dylan corrupts the board?) and you fight your way to Dylan (perhaps with the board/Polaris's power up). Then as you're cleansing him, Polaris dies, and Dylan claps back and tries to corrupt you. Now you get the Office scene, except at the end of each loop you actually fight the Hiss in Dylan as it tries to infect you, loosing and resetting at first, but regaining your power as the loops continue/as you explore. Perhaps have each time you loose, Jesse looses a bit of herself, with X many loops to win or GG; you're converted too and the world ends. You finally regain enough of your power, realize Polaris in you, push Dylan's corruption out, then cleanse actual Dylan into a coma.
We'd probably have to sacrifice Dynamite by Dr Darling (perhaps have it as something you find as you loose the first time before starting to regain power?) but I think this gives us a much more satisfactory ending. The emotional climax of the story (Failing to save Hedron) happens as we walk into the ending confrontation, you see the struggle Jesse has in cleansing Dylan, as well as fighting his corruption, and most importantly, you the player have a challenge in defeating Dylan.
But yeah, the ending …is not good.
Wasnt a fan of the ending either, far too abrut. Easily the worst part of the game.
