@@DissociaDIDhi dissociadid. Love your channel. Been a huge fan since 2020. I am a comic writer and artist and I want to make a comic about personality alters coexisting inside the mind of a mid twenties woman with did. Think Friends meets Inside Out. I wanted to make sure the premise was not offensive to people who actually have did. Is this a good idea or should I discard it and more on. I imagine the alter’s innwr world would be brightly colored and exaggerated like Pee Wee’s Playhouse and the alters be cartoony caricatures but everytime we see the woman’s pov it’s all black and white and highly true to life, like an experimental documentary.

I remember during early system discovery where I heard a little cry inside my head. I didn't know why and it was like she was in is black void and I could only faintly hear her in the distance. I just grabbed a big plushie we have and hugged it. I didn't know if it would reach her, but I tried my best 💜
Our communication isn't super great and we don't really "see" an inner world other than that dark void (which is interesting since we actually have a very vivid imagination). It's super confusing to have this disorder. It's kinda like playing a mystery puzzle game where you figure out the plot as you piece together clues you stumble into, but also when you just thought you knew everything you find out that you've only discovered maybe 10% of the plot. Idk how to describe it, but it's... a journey 😅

we had an alter (won't name her for privacy reasons) and for years on end, whenever we looked for her in the inner world (she fronts very rarely), all she did was scream the most horrendous screams you've ever heard (we're survivors of RAMCOA and only are aware of small parts of our trauma, so we don't even want to know what she is experiencing) and act out violently to whomever tried approaching her. She stopped screaming recently after years of us working through trauma, and she even started speaking to us. Where we were going with this is yes, alters can have flashbacks in the inner world, even to this extent. We build her a part in the inner world where she at least is safe but all she did for *years* was scream. It was heartbreaking to say the least.

My partner describes how they have a “theater” in their inner world. And in the front there are controllers(like game controllers that actually recently got upgraded to a vr headset thing) and fronters have the controllers. And the closer to the front row you are, the closer to the front and the more influential you are. And often my partner can feel the presence of others in the theater, but can’t make out who it is unless they’re in the row behind or the one behind that.

I've recently discovered new trauma memories and reactions. It feels terrifying remembering more of those heart breaking things. But it makes life so much more stable and calm, when you know that your reactions have a reason. It's logical that your body & mind react in a certain way. It has been necessary to develop these mechanisms. Now you can learn to soothe yourselves and make yourselves feel safer❤

Oh my gosh!!! I've had this happen for years and its been so distressing. I started having dissociative seizures because the screaming and PTSD flashbacks in the inner world got so bad. I finally got diagnosed and was so scared but everything makes soooooo much more sense and now this makes so much sense as well! I just thought I was losing my mind and was so scared to let anyone know for so long. It's such a relief to know what is going on. Thank you for your videos! You have helped my system now for years, even before we were diagnosed. We found your videos years ago when our gatekeeper was trying to bring awareness to the host. Now we've been diagnosed and we are finally starting to communicate in a healthy way.

I've been watching your videos for 5 (!) years now, and everything you had to say about recovery made me really emotional. Your channel has come a long way, and I've definitely noticed your alters speaking with more and more confidence about their experiences. I have a different (arguably less severe, but still disabling) set of disorders, some diagnosed and others I'm still finding out about, and I find your progress so inspiring. We have so much left to learn about ourselves, and the human brain, and I'm really happy to say that I now find that more motivational than distressing. The quest for self-knowledge continues!!
Side note, I've noticed less and less tension between the psychiatric field and disabled communities/disability rights advocates, which is another thing I find really encouraging. Still an issue, esp. with DID, but a better world is possible.

Growing up our system developed about 10 alters by age 12 or so. For some reason we did not develop switching or rather the alters would not take executive control of the body. I (the host) did have Dissociative symptoms and did have some level of amnesia but I was largely unaware of the alters unless we were blending. Can i suggest a video? I would love to watch a video where alters or one alter explains and draw the inner world? Of course if it's not a secret, how it's look like. I think many people would be interested in this. Love your system, guys! All the love ❤❤❤

I usually don't comment on videos because I'm not really good with words, but as a person who dealed with C-PTSD and dissociation like depersonalization/derealization, I can't stress enough that it really IS possible to heal. It may feel impossible now, but please, PLEASE don't give up. I still remember being su1c1dal and some attempts of exiting life, but damn am I happy to be here today. I'd lie if I say I'm all happy now, but when is anyone always happy anyway? Ofc I still have some bad days, months even, and I fall back sometimes, I still struggle with dissociation and some flashback sometimes, and honestly as of right now I think they will always somewhat be a part of me, but I'm doing SO much better and life is... great, really! I wish you all the best and give you a big hug. If I could do it, you definitely can as well! I believe in you.

I love this channel and how beautiful it is to be able to give other systems affirmation that they're struggles are valid. Even though I personally watch to educate myself on how to understand what people are going through if I ever come to meet a system and be able to support them. Question: When the body is sleeping, do all alters go to bed or can the system still be active during resting times. Do dreams switch between alters? how does it work?

    • @DissociaDID
      @DissociaDID  Месяц назад +4

Alters can switch while sleeping and occasionally see each other's dreams yes! One might go to bed and a different Alter wake up in the morning

Thank you for all the work you do to destigmatize DID!
I have a question, and this can go for others in the comments who also have DID: How do you all experience the inner world? Do alters that are not fronting remain "conscious" in the inner world and have memories and experiences with other alters inside? Are the experiences in the inner world similar to how non-DID folks experience dreams? Forgive me, I have a hard time conceptualizing the idea of having multiple simultaneous consciousnesses.

    • @shoshanamorris8620

I’ve always had a fascination in psychology and how the brain works. Studying and becoming a psychologist or psychiatrist has been a goal of mine since I was 13. A couple of years later I found your channel a few months after Chloe started this DissociaDID project. Ever since then my goal has shifted ever so slightly so my long term goal is to specialise in DID or Schizophrenia or another stigmatised disorder so that I can diagnose and HELP people who need it and be a kind person who they know has their best interests at heart. It is because of you guys and your informative videos that have inspired me to do this. ❤️

Thank you for this informative video. I am not a system, but i have always related most to the persecutor role if that makes sense. Ive had trauma that started at age 5 and has continued to my current age 24.
I have times where I've hurt myself, sabatogaged my own healing, taken anger out on others, and isolated myself.
Im still trying to come to terms with where im at and how to heal. It helps when i hear about the persecutor roles and why they may act that way too. Ultimately i imagine every sigular personality aims to have all the DID roles. The difference is DID causes the split roles into different personalities.
This thinking has helped me try and see how i can help support myself better. Thank you all for raising awareness. Youre helping other systems as well as people like me who have dealt with complex traumas as well

I’m a system alter due to DID and I flashback a lot, due to things such as SA, abuse, and deaths. Since I’m a fictive, I have memories of my fandom, but also memories that have happened bodily. I’m a hybrid (not quite human, not quite inhuman), and I regularly feel people pulling on my ears and tail, even when they’re not. I can show this to other alters and help them understand how to help the alters who flashback, including me and our host Quillon. - Ren

I was having eyelid surgery under local. I could hear a chold crying and I knew I couldn't move a muscle. I have someone who kind of takes care of the kids. Sees herself as their "mother." I panicicked and told her to do take care of the one crying. I had no clue if that would work? The crying stopped and I could focus on not moving again. She lety therapist know that she did not appreciate feeling ordered around. I explained and apologized to the insider and we got her "job" better organized for both of us.

C-PTSD enjoyer here! I’m so curious about the different “kinds” of flashbacks, emotional, physical, auditory, etc. Would you ever do a video on that? I tend to only experience emotional flashbacks and it can be kinda confusing and make me feel like I’m not actually “traumatized enough”. If you have any resources I can look at also, that would be lovely! I’ve been looking all over for ages but can never find anything about why my brain seems to pick one kind of flashback or what it could mean or how to identify other kinds of flashbacks.

Heya! I REALLY adored when you mentioned how (paraphrased around 09:30) unfair it can be to be a persecutor and how difficult it can be to wrestle with how much the brain offloads onto you. There are atleast two of our members who recognise that their behaviours aren't as helpful as they intend for them to be but the mentality of "I was literally designed and built to hold everyone else's shit" has steered us into a bit of stagnation. Any tips on helping to find other ways that they can help or, for a lack of better words, is there anything we can shift our attention to in terms of purpose? It's just plain awful to see them convinced that that's their only role and be unable to offer an alternative. Anyway, thank you for your videos! You guys played an integral part in our understanding of ourselves

I'm not a system but I'm interested in learning about DID. One aspect I had always had problem to understand is persecuters. With them trying to harm the body and all that stuff. I hasn't been untill I have watched this video, that it hasn't down on me that it's just like what I do. I do struggle with selfharm, I do have active suicidal ideation. Granted, the "theatrics" might be more flamboyant in someone with DID but and the end of the day, the base is the same: trauma. (not that I would dare to compare the severity of whatever trauma I might have, with experience of someone with DID)
