This was the best of your episodes. It was so breathtakingly beautiful in so many ways. Seeing you in your dream to be creating this chapter of your life with such dedication to yourself and your vision, empowered and utterly inspired me in my own life to take my own dream along with new self love and self regard to a higher level. So many of us from different walks, cultures and environments who just wanna have a cup of coffee and sing "The hills are alive" from your front yard. ha God bless you indeed!
I just wanted to cry at the end. So many emotions. The beauty of nature in the begining, the order of the tools on workbench wall, the manpower and ingenuity to get the really heavy logs up close to the cabin, the way everyone worked together to put those beams in place, the closing camera shots and music. You are just a master at creating the most amazing vlogs that touch each one of us so deeply. Thank you so much. I feel so nourished by the experiences the vlogs generate as I watch your projects unfold.
I totally agree with your written sentiments. I had a little cry at the end , very emotional to see what a huge challenge this was to get the beams on the roof. You worked so hard and yet we were blessed with a longer video. Thank you for everything. 🙏❤️👏
Well said Sahlaa! He does touch us. I totally admired the way he set up his work bench with the tools neatly on the wall. Love his attitude, the beauty inside him. When his parents raised him, they must have done everything right! 😀

Martijn, you must have lived many previous lives to have gained the knowledge, patience, craftsmanship and endurance you display. The unique perspective you provide your viewers each week is nothing short of remarkable. Your artistry brings tears to my eyes. Profound thanks.
So intense, so beautiful to see young men working in good spirit and harmony. Your calm demeanor sets the tone for successful results. Good vibes to all of them and good wishes to you, Martijn. This series of videos is not only exciting, but heartwarming.
So well said working in good spirit and harmony. If only the whole world could work together like this, without politicians, what a wonderful world we could have.
My favorite part was the tractor that came to help with the beams! And also I was amazed by how the Mavic Air 2 was able to follow you through the branches! And by the end, people coming together to help with this project is always amazing.
You are a wonderful videographer and editor. I love the silence, and the methodical, patient, execution of well thought out and designed plans. The silence, birds and views are healing and aligning my spirit. Thank you for all your hard work in sharing this experience with us. Wendy, Oregon, USA
As you say Martjin: manpower = the oldest and still most practical way of getting tricky jobs done. Thank you to all for providing assistance to Martjin and thereby us with another excellent video.
The whole video is wonderful, as they all are, but the last couple of minutes, moving up through the clouds, literally took my breath away. What world is this?
That last shot up and through the clouds was brilliant. And then the view of the mountain at the end was perfect. Thank you for taking us along on this amazing venture of yours.
With the type of work you are doing here, and with strangers that don't have a history of working together, some guardrails to keep people from falling off the scaffolding (in the tallest levels at least) would have been recommended. With heavy weights, the weight sometimes moves you rather than the other way around. I've built several log homes so I know a little. Love the vids.
That’s community . It stirs a deep memory in my bones inside me, of longing , grieving for solitude freedom, something from my past maybe another life time. Thank you.

This is the first time I felt some restless energy from you Martijn. No matter the reason, take good care of yourself! Every time I am surprised by the progress you make, this week especially. But do not burn yourself out please!
Yes Martijn! It was great to see the crane you built from scratch in action, then all the guys working together to place the beams. Feels like it's moving so fast lately. Superb camera work, as always and love the longer episode. Thanks.

Absolutely exceptional videos - I wait with bated breath for each new release - love your work Martijn. Thumbs up to the local men helping with their heavy moving equipment and to the lads helping out periodically. Thank you from New Zealand...
the cinematography, the sound, the atmosphere... this is such a masterpiece. i'm genuinly glad that i found my way to this channel and am able to follow along as the cabin comes back to life.
loved, loved, loved the rain! i bet it smelled divine. hmmmm...watermelon. yum. the local farmer and his tractor was awesome. everybody needs a friend like that. i loved that you filmed your frustration - making you very human. do you hear cow bells all day long? oh, you just said the farmer asked you to have them graze on your land, so makes sense why you can hear them so much in this video. it was sad to see the old joists removed. The opening 1st scene with spectacular views and beautiful music was like the start of a new movie. Yet again all the guys coming together for the awkward heavy work was practical and necessary. Well done everyone 👏 Thank you for a great video again.
When all the guys were working together on those beams, the buzz of energy and immense unified effort were enthralling. Set alongside the days when Martijn is quietly working alone, it makes for compelling viewing
Après tant d’efforts le réconfort en regardant le paysage, les montagnes, entendre les vaches qui profitent de l’herbe. C’était une super équipe solidaire !!
Again an amazing day with the young men who helped. It is so satisfying to watch you build a home from the beginning. I cannot wait till the next episode reveals a new chapter to the story. Stay safe.
The element that is most valuable with a group of workers tightly engaged in a potentially dangerous and physically stressful task is communication. I was very impressed at how your quickly assembled group spoke as a team and worked as a team toward a goal that none of them probably had any previous experience with. Great to have that done!
Just ask those cows in your front area about the advantages of legs as opposed to wheels in those hillsides. They have been giving you quizzical looks occasionally. The final drone scene/music/editing was supreme and the very last glance at the sunset from the top of the cloud deck left me in awe. Thanks again for a wonderful glimpse into your days.
People helping each other is what this world needs. One of my favorite features in these videos are the cowbells. Every time they’re in the background it reminds me of my time spent in Switzerland.💖🍻🐄
...and the tinkling of the goat's bells that are smaller and chime at a higher pitch. It is charming ...makes me long to be in a "Heidi novel" with Heidi and Peter and the old grandfather! Or the possibility of visiting Martijn at least. I have an old (brass?) goat bell that was actually made in Switzerland ...it says "SWISS MADE" with a "2/0" engraved above that and an emblem of a goat on a mountain inside a shield above that. We used to have a cow bell with a wooden clapper as well but it seems to have gone missing. Got them in Europe when I was a child with my parents. Hope I can go back someday.
I am I awe of your ingenuity in solving problems. There seems to be no difficulty you could not find a solution for. It's good to see though that sometimes only community is the answer. By helping you, these guys also inspire all the viewers, showing us that we can do increadible tasks when we stand together. These days, standing together is the most important task for humanity.
Another fantastic update on your progress. Watching you organise and wall mount your tools was very satisfying, so neat and methodical. Looking forward to next week's installment.
Again Martjin your videos amaze me at the quality of your artistry and filming. The way that you use your surroundings and engage your audience tells me how much you care about the content that myself and everyone else sees. Like a lot of others I do wait every week to see your videos and just unwind and relax and enjoy the beauty of it all. Love it, keep up the great work.
Nice job men…….. There is truly power in numbers……. Your editing skills for your videos are very impressive…… This is the best channel on RUclips in my opinion…… I’ll be waiting for next weeks video…☮️
Since you aren't here right now, I've gone back to review some of my favorite weeks. This episode was truly amazing! Loved the cowbells in the distance and the cows grazing on your land. So excited to see when you have your own cows . . . someday!!
Thanks for having us Martijn. Aching arms today but a good ache. It was so satisfying to stand back and see the beams in place. If you ever need a place to stay in Aotearoa New Zealand, give me a message. Ka kite ano e hoa!
Wonderful stuff. Whenever placing the last beam, you need to have a 'topping out' celebration. I hope you cracked open some beers with the helpers! Also I am glad you leaned on help. Building something should be a communal experience, where you work together with friends, family, neighbors, extended kin, etc. Now whenever you sit down and enjoy a nice day next to the cabin, you are also filled with the memories of teamwork and comradery that made it possible, and whenever a friend who helped you comes to visit, it solidifies mutual bonds in a way that is much deeper than if you just did it yourself, or if you paid a subcontractor stranger to do it for you. Great stuff! Remember to have a 'topping out' ceremony if you ever replace the beams on the 2nd cabin!
I could hardly watch you straddling those roof beams to remove the struts. I gave a loud sigh if relief when you were done and still in one piece. I think it’s amazing how you manage to get volunteers just when you need them. You must be over the moon to be done this difficult and very heavy job. Goodonya.
All this adventure is so beautiful ! I'm so happy to watch this every week ! Thank you Martjin ! I really want to come and help you.. but i can't now.. may be later, I hope one day ! I'm 20y, i work during these holydays.. but one day i will come !
I get, I feel, why you say you are not lonely there. And I am not quite sure which I enjoy more, the beautiful aerial flights or simply seeing you in your environment. It touches my heart every time. I love your life and I am so grateful that you share it with us. Here's to some rain - we need it where I am too. Blessings to you, dear human... you are a good one. BTW, those beams are gorgeous, and hopefully worth all of the effort that they are taking!
I kind of thought the crookedness of the old beams and roof was part of the wonder and beauty, but I get it,... when you have an opportunity to replace its very tempting to do so. Ive been wanting to say about your building,... I find it frustrating watching you tackle various tasks without the assistance of clamps. People see this and think that it's ok to do this. This is not a safe practice. You have inspired some young people to try to build with wood, and its so nice to watch. Your photography is wonderful of course, and well the place is just so beautiful.
Great help you got and no wonder they want to help you, they love the way you are - I am sure of that. Another video from you has finished and there is a whole week before a new one will be released! Thank you so much for the most beautiful and interesting videos Martijn.
It's awesome to see the crane in action! The building of the crane happened quite some time ago, and now it delivers! (Apart from using it for the picnic table). 🙌
Well Martijn you certainly like a challenge! Those huge roof beams certainly look very heavy! Another superb video full of such amazing skills and ingenuity. Brilliant!

Well this episode was nerve wrecking for a change! Pfff so happy the beams got in place without any backs broken!😅
You are a crazy man trying to move those beams by yourself. LOL. You are a beast.
Man’s ability is so inspiring. Great episode!
As I have been a job site foreman for an electrical construction company for 23 years I know how valuable it is to have help on heavy projects…… Glad to see you all working together safely…… Thanks for sharing your adventure…. Your editing skills for your videos are very impressive…… This is the best channel on RUclips in my opinion…… I’ll be waiting for next weeks video…☮️
The series is an adventure of accomplishments and satisfactions that one can cheer on, and admire.
I’ve been checking in every few minutes in anticipation.
What a hard job, well done to all involved, thank you Martjin I know it takes a lot of work editing and producing these videos, much appreciated ❤️
It was nerve racking watching the beams go into place, but you all did it, and worked together. Well done!!!
From step to step, from day by day I really appreciated your hard working Martijn.
Absolutely love what you are doing!! The imagery is top notch!
Hello Martijn, my family and I have been enjoying your videos so much! It's a grand endeavor. Hope you get some rain real soon.
What a blessing those young men were for you that day-- viewing from Texas USA -
Great help you got and no wonder they want to help you, they love the way you are - I am sure of that. Another video from you has finished and there is a whole week before a new one will be released! Thank you so much for the most beautiful and interesting videos Martijn.
the ending scene in this video is epic, with the music and everything
A very enjoyable watch, the evolving project, cinematography, think I’ll watch it again.
What a beautiful thing to watch. The generosity of all those men helping you. You are truly blessed!
That was INCREDIBLE!! It was beautiful to watch you all work together on the rafters.
Brilliant!
It's a miracle no one was seriously injured. I'm so glad it worked out cause it was quite dangerous at times.
Thank you! Your videos are one of the highlights of my week.
