I think you can tone match any amp and any sound, the issue I have is the "in the room" sound, the dynamics and transients, the things you can't hear but can feel
I hear you for sure. If I had it my way I would always play amps, but with two young daughters that’s not the case. My goal is to offer the best tones I can from all modelers so even the amp purist can enjoy it. With that said, I personally feel like I’ve improved a lot more playing through amp modelers with studio headphones over using a real amp. The reason is (besides having more time to play because of this silent solution) I can’t hide behind any of the room ambience. The attack is so immediate that I have to be way more precise. Just my opinion, and I don’t disagree with you at all! This is just a different solution.
THIS is the best and most concise answer when comparing amps and modeling I have read in a while.
Referring to my response?
Amp sounds awesome and so does the tone match Jon - through my speakers from RUclips I think the reverb on the Fractal could be tweaked a little to get even closer but it’s pretty damn good. Thanks for the free update!
Thank you! After the video I tweaked the reverb a ton. But isolated with no reverb these two sounded identical!
