@@alexanderlorida2215 I haven't ever played Honkai Impact but I really like how mihoyo actually goes into these themes of age, especially when their characters are thousands of years old and you actually get a sense of their past, trauma and wisdom as a result of that. Many times animes/shows have characters that are hundreds and thousands of years old but it ends up just being a number, because they don't explore those themes and the characters don't end up acting in a meaningful way that reflects how old they truly are.

With emphasis on sweet, because Zhongli's was not just another clichéd "fallen angel", "sacrifice", "last minute redemption" or cheesy "ascension/going to heaven" ending. Those endings are just feels bait because they do nothing to acknowledge the heroic characters' past deeds. They also deny any hope for those characters or anyone who sympathize with them because the plot point is literally that they're dead and gone and that is the only way to restore "cosmic/narrative" balance. Zhongli's story however had him take his own destiny into his own hands. Despite being immortal, he was able to realize that immortality did not define him and did not have to define him. His story was not bound by the old and tired "power corruption absolute power blah blah" trope. His story is about a good king who was aware of what his responsibility was doing to him and actively work toward taking a nice long vacation because the world isn't going to stop turning just because he isn't there. In his story, you can see maturity, humility and most importantly personal agency. It challenges readers to be hopeful and responsible, instead of just moping and waxing philosophical about tired tropes like, "hmm yeah live long enough to become a villain (guess I'll become a villain too someday LMAO XD) ". Sorry for the rant, but your post made me realize how special Zhongli's narrative is compared to other ostensibly similar stories.

This video made me cry at around 1:04. Zhongli stepped foot in Liyue thousands of years ago, teaching the people how to build homes and forge weapons . . . and then he watched all of them perish before his own eyes. Even though he knew that death was inevitable, Zhongli continued to defend his people when gods struck them for millenia, slaughtering and killing to protect the Liyue he'd crafted with his two hands. I used to want immortality as a superpower, but after learning about Zhongli/Xiao/Qiqi's past and the suffering they went through, I think I would want immortality AND the ability to give it to others.

The 1st one is how every time Qiqi sees a happy family holding hands and having a good time in the streets of the harbor, she says that she feels something really painful in her chest. She couldn't explain what that emotion is and eventually just breaks down into tears in Zhongli's arms. Asking in confusion of why her chest hurts so much whenever she sees a happy family.
The 2nd one is about Qiqi's friendship with Klee. Klee says that they will be best friends forever, which makes Qiqi happy at first. But Qiqi's thoughts soon became depressing as she monologues that Klee will grow up and will one day die due to old age while she remains the same as always because of her nature as a zombie. Just like all the other friends that she made and eventually forgotten over the millennium.
And Qiqi doesn't want to forget Klee.
It was a really sad read to be perfectly honest.

I really wanted to know what the memories that are hidden on the stone dumbbell that Guizhong left to Zhongli. Even after those years, he still haven't solved the puzzle to unlock that stone dumbbell. Cloud Retainer is still alive so Guizhong was probably dear to Zhongli. Guizhong was a weak god but she somehow made Morax into the god we know of today. Had he not met her Zhongli would probably end up rampaging or dead and most importantly Liyue Harbor wouldn't exist because the first people of Liyue as the lore stated are the people of Guili Plains where Guizhong and Zhongli made a prosperous city and now has been lost to time.He lost a lot of his friends as well :((.
Memory of dust (the stone dumbbell Guizhong gave to Zhongli) is a 5* Catalyst btw that is available only on special limited banners. I just recently learned about the lore and tbh i'm so sad over a weapon T_T

It would be amazing to see her as a playable character though!

At first I thought the Genshin equivalent of Fu Hua would be Xiao, as they both share the same backstory of being alive for thousands of years, facing betrayal, friends dying, etc., but Fu Hua's story lasts longer. However, now that I think about it, almost every archon and adeptus in Genshin is the equivalent to Fu Hua, just because all of them will face the same things throughout their immortal lives. Smart move Mihoyo, but ive already given my tears to you during final lesson, im not giving them up yet.

Title of this video, “欲买桂花同载酒，终不似，少年游", comes from a Ci (poem/song) of Chinese Song Dynasty, 《唐多令·芦叶满汀洲》, by Liu Guo 刘过.
The poet was traveling to a place where he visited decades ago. He still wanted to enjoy the scene, osmanthus, and wine there but all of a sudden he realized everything had been changed dramatically. The reality made him really depressed because his beloved homeland was in turmoil (like in Zhongli's trailer, he cannot watch the common folk suffer). But he himself was not that carefree confident youth anymore. That kind of young fella who thought everything could work out soon and the future was bright.
But I think Zhongli is a little bit different. He feels empty without old friend Guizhong by side. But he has gained new hope after seeing mortals of Liyue united together and successfully beat Osial.
