    Proceeds to fold and spike his Jack on the river. Will likely play them even worse next time.

    If the A2 hand was early on in the session, some people do over fold; until a awhile later, they become extremely sticky. It's like they get sick of being steam rolled / believe people don't bluff early but bluff more later on

      Interesting point…
      I watch the game to see the changes in momentum on the table as it progresses and I have found that the aggression tends to grow the later it gets.. Almost every single Night!! But good point - Interesting Perspective (basically the same concept I have just a slightly different way of looking at it..

    • @ewallt
      @ewallt 6 месяцев назад

      @@hickoryst.6961 You’d have to point out an example. I think his analysis is excellent. Every game has its own dynamics and a good player needs to figure out how others play. That Bart is very good at this is evident by watching his play on stream. In the phone calls, he’s trying to explain general ideas that can be applied across a wide range of circumstances. There’s no way a person is going to consistently guess what players have in actual hands. Human behavior doesn’t work that way. Especially bad players; they could have anything.

    Ive seen guys like the K9 guy who absolutely feel like they have to bet something with their top pair. While it’s true a lot of times that they will have a weak top pair, it doesn’t mean you can easily bluff them out of it. Not cause they have some read on you, but because it’s too strong for them to let go. I usually just call getting good odds, but I will raise them off if I think they’re capable of doing it with middling pairs or draws. It’s actually makes ir easy to play against them as they will telegraph the strength of their hand

    I feel like it really matters where and when you're playing. Also player pool's "skill levels" vary for completely different reasons. For example if go play 1-2 at my local casino at 1pm on a Wednesday it's going to predominantly be a bunch of retirees and low level grinders nitting it up, the best strategy is likely going to be general aggression and winning lots of small pots without even showing down. Whereas if it's 11pm on a Saturday I'm going to try to be at whatever table has the most people drinking and there to have fun, and the best strategy is going to mainly be getting value out of people playing too many hands and under folding. I've also found the second strategy works better at 2-5 because the player pool seems to care less about the money and have larger leaks.

    On the A88 hand people won’t call without an Ace or 8? There’d have to be at least pocket pairs calling too, wouldn’t there? That’s not defending nearly enough. And people complain that bluffs don’t work “because they never fold.”

    I agreed 100% on every street with Bart. It is exactly what I would have done. Only difference is I have a different betting style for my games. This is spot on on how to play 2/5 and any lower stakes game where you get 1-2 callers on a raise with at least 100bb stacks in this kind of game. When you have 3+ callers your game needs to change some but it is still profitable.
    I prefer these kind of games with 1-2 callers. It is like printing money.
