Best video I’ve seen! This is my first time using my air fryer rotisserie function AND trussing a chicken. Thanks for the very simple demonstration. It’s not so intimidating now.
I just got a MIUI 10L air oven and this recipe worked like a charm, thank you. The only change I made is that I used butter because I'm on a carnivore diet.
I have done up to a 5 lb chicken in my air fryer on the rotisserie. It is a tight fit to not hit the drip try and the top heating element but if you tie it up right it will work. Air fryers are not really made to accommodate a whole chicken as they are not tall enough for the bird to rotate easily. The wider fryers allow a little more wiggle room as you can stretch the bird out and make the thighs less of a problem hitting the heating coil and drip tray. Well worth the hassle as the wife loves rotisserie chicken and as they say happy wife happy life.
Hi James, thank you for leaving a comment. Yes, make sure to truss your chicken and tie it up on the spit to secure. 3.5 lb is the maximum recommended weight of rotisserie chicken on the spit in the air fryer. You need at least 3 to 5 inches clearance from the heating element, so the chicken will properly cook.
@@jdashie I used the chicken setting. I have a Meater that is wireless so I cook to temp not time. I think it took 2 hours but that is a guess. 90 minutes is the longest time a unit will run so you have to add more time before it runs out and check the internal temp to make sure it is done if you do not have a wireless thermometer you can leave in while it rotates.
You're welcome😍 It should turn out like this. Please keep in mind, the air fryer's temperature may vary, check your air fryer temperature guidelines. Thank you so much for leaving a comment🥰❤

Thank you for the easy instructional video. I just got an air fryer oven and was looking for a good recipe to try the rotisserie function. Happy Holidays!
Cook the whole chicken weighing 3 to 3.5 lbs at 400°F for one hour or to your liking. Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it stand for 10 minutes. Please note the cooking time and temperature may vary slightly on the brand of your air fryer. Try at 360°F to 375°F the first half of cooking time then increase your temperature for darker crispy skin or until the internal safe temperature of the whole chicken reaches 180°F. This air fryer Rotisserie chicken weighs 1.5 kilograms and is perfectly cooked at 400°F for an hour. For more information please visit my website😊 maricelsrecipes.com/air-fryer-rotisserie-chicken/
The chicken looks amazing Marcel. I have a question, when using the rotisserie for meats do you turn the fan function off so that only the heating element is cooking the meat? I assume this would get a better result for the rotisserie function. I haven't tried myself but my instinct is telling me air fryer mode with the rotisserie will dry it out more and maybe burn the outside? What are your thoughts I just got a sunbeam air fryer with the rotisserie
Thank you😊 It’s a good question. I am also new to air fryers. According to my research, the fan main function is circulating air throughout the fryer, so the food will cook evenly. My Frigidaire air fryer setting for rotisserie doesn't allow me to turn the fan off. The only setting for the fan is low or high. The chicken weigh 1.5 kg cook perfectly on rotisserie at 400°F for 1 hr with crisp skin and moist meat. If the fan stops working, the fryer will shut off, which is the fryer’s safety mechanism to prevent overheating. You can adjust the temperature and cooking time, and it varies on the air fryer brand, the size of the chicken and weight. The safe internal temperature of the chicken breast is 165°F and chicken thighs or whole chicken 180°F.
Sure you can 😊 However, cooking time will vary depending on the size of the potatoes. You may want to add the 2-inch quartered potatoes about 20 to 25 minutes before the chicken finishes cooking.
@@SweetKingTannernot as smart as I thought, it is fine if you want just a few but they must not tough the heating bars and the tray cant be pulled out with the roast potatoes on it, they will have to be take out with tongs. I tried it with foil on the tray to stop the potatoes from sticking to it, they cooked fine, it was just getting them out that was the problem but it did allow me to do a rotisserie chicken about 2 kilo in weight, I tied the legs to stop them hanging too low but it did work.
I love rotisserie chicken but I'm conflicted on letting it rotate as all the juicy goodness seems to fall out! In an air fryer couldn't you argue that it cooks nicely enough without rotation, maintaining more juice? Or how do you feel?
Hi there, Thank you for reaching out. I found rotisserie chicken retains its juice and cooks more evenly. And you don't need to worry about flipping or rotating your chicken.
This was my second air fryer ruclips.net/user/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB . The last one worked fine but was large and a bit loud. This one is outstanding. It is smaller overall but still has plenty of capacity. It crisps the food better. You don't get one side soggy if you forget to turn it over. It is pretty quiet, easy to use, easy to clean, and works great. It chimes to alert you to functions, like when to turn over food that benefits from that. The automatic pre-heat is great. The display is large and easy to read, the light inside is actually useful. The window is worth the extra $10. It looks good sitting out on my counter. I haven't been this happy with an appliance for a long time. Good value for money.
