I first saw Alfie in the Les Miz 25th anniversary special on PBS, and I was blown away. I am 80, and I listen to his radio channel at home. Thank you for this interview. What a voice! I am so grateful that I have lived to experience the pleasure of hearing it. ❤🥰❤
this was most enjoyable. i had never heard of either alfie boe or michael ball until the last 10-14 days. then michael posted his 93 concert videos from london on facebook! now they both have new lifelong fans of these gifted, god-given voices, true entertainers, handsome, and humorous fellas who love pranking each other. betty gordon, ames, iowa, usa
This is my first musical Opera that I've ever seen and what made me fall in love with this was listening to this beautiful voice Alfie BOE . I I immediately I'm saying immediately fell in love with this man's voice I said in my living room watching this PBS special of Les Miserables and I was hooked all the way down to bottom of my soul I was hooked I have five of his albums I'm missing too and I still love to listen to him talk and sing
Alfie is simply Magic I adore him as the rebel Diva And his faith is like mine so that makes him Truly My Hero Ball and Boe May you Reign for decades! Much love Lauretta
Now I understand why he performs with Michael Ball. Alfie is still “moving up” and fulfilling new dreams. This video is essential for people who are just discovering him. Thank you to whomever was responsible for posting this video.
Wonderful man, wonderful voice: this is what happens when a family loves each other! So blessed & honoured to have shared this gift with us: thank you Alfie BOE & family!💝💐🍀🎵🎶🙏🌹
Love the little story, about Alfie waiting for his dad to come home and he would run upto him. I did exactly the same, I was close to my father, and I would watch through the window waiting for dad to appear walking through the wood. I would set off and run down the gunnel and he would give me a "twizzle". He would also give the kids in the street a "twizzle" too. Good Memories. Great Interview. And he sings my favourite song "We have all the time in the World". What a talent, what a man!
Fabulous. I hadn't ever seen the concert until a month or so ago. I honestly never thought I'd hear a voice that moved me as much as Pavarotti's... but Alfie has possibly the most beautiful and perfect voice I've ever heard. I thoroughly agree with Floyd T. That moment in the rehearsal is mind-blowing! And a genuine guy with a great sense of humor, to boot? I think he's my new hero, too.
What a lovely story! How wonderful that his family (especially his father) encouraged him in what was clearly his interest and his gift! So many parents would've told the kid to shut up and sit down. Can you imagine if that father had done so? We might not have this lovely gift today. Thank you, Papa Alfred!
I saw the 25th Les Mis anniv. on the cinema and I became a fan of him then. Seeing this now in 2020.. the more I admire his talent.. and he seems to be a real good person.
I don't know about you, but I think this man's life would make an excellent book and film already, and he's only lived a portion of it so far. Up to now I only knew his incomparable performance in Les Miserables. I now know he is a decent and kind man of faith at the top level of an occupation where belief is often scoffed at or denied. This means so much more to me than his talent. I'm never going to be able to watch that concert again without thinking.. he was back there praying to God and his Dad right then. Very moving interview.
Really found this interesting very proud of him of everything he has become in so many ways and they way Alfie enjoy everything one of my biggest fan love all his songs and everything else
Just watched this again after all these years...my life what a life Alfie has achieved, since this interview. .love him more than ever,,,hope I can see him again..before the inevitable happens,, LOVE Alfie. .A real, True Entertainer, ,Bless you..Alfie xx
What a talented Guy with a pleasant personality to match a wonderful voice. I'm sure his father is looking down on him bursting with pride at what he has done with his natural talent. What an amazing story!
Wonderfully done. What an amazing interview. Alfie has such an incredible story to share. He is an awesome human being as well as an extremely talented singer and performer. We (his fans) are so happy for him. Thank you for sharing this.
This is the best interview ever with Alfie. Fern was unintrusive letting Alfie speak. Wonderful to see the home life with his special family, and to see the faith that made him the wonderful man he is. He so deserves all his success. I have met him a few times and he is as genuine and unspoiled as he appears, always ready to ngive himself to his fans. Thank-you for posting and thank-you Alfie a thousand times for sharing your amazing gift with us, you are truly loved.
You've made a lot of Alfie's fans very happy. We've heard him on BBC radio, and seen his stories in print, but this is the first time we've seen as he talked on a full length program. That was a treat. Top notch interview. Home movies, photos, clips, and well edited. (I just wish they'd thrown in a couple of clips from this summer's concerts, but....) Thanks again.
Thank you so much for posting this. For me, the favorite part, the part you really get to see what Alfie can do, is the brief scene in the rehearsal at about the 45 minute mark. Him holding that high note, from the end of the Soliloquy, just rolling out the sound making it look as easy as humanly possible, hands on hip, scratching his head, almost as if bored. The rest of the cast is blown away. It is breathtaking. Thank you.
Now I understand why he and Michael are so close. Good for Michael, since he reached out to his friend. GOD has given Alfie such a glorious voice....and Michael Ball as well!!!!!! They sing so well together!!!!! I am so smitten with Michael!!!!!
His life story really help and inspire me to follow my dreams! I was big Alfie's Fan but now I meet a different Alfie, the person, the dreamer. Thanks for share this video! And thanks Alfie for inspire a lot of people around the world.
What a nice voice to be used as he sees fit. His family story reminds me of Susan Boyle and his mixture of music genre reminds me of Kristin Chenoweth. I wish Alfie much success!
Oh Hell Yeah! He's the real deal. I love it. I grew up with parents who sing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir...and this guy can do that...and he can do country, blues, rock, ANYTHING...I LOVE IT!!! I'm eclectic that way. My friends assume I should only like classical because of my upbringing. NOPE. I was a fan on music alone...NOW??? I'm a fan on a true level and not just his music.
Where was Alfie on Saturday night- we were told he was performing at the Albert Hall at the service of remembrance. Hope he isn’t poorly or his family are alright?
A truly inspiring story to us all. And I agree with Matt Lucas, I don't think i could hear BHH in any other way aside from Alfie's operatic style any more.
48:45 After the O2, interviewers kept asking him what it was like on stage after singing BHH. It wasn't until a year later that someone asked him what he did just before BHH. That was the first time Alfie talked about praying and asking his Dad for help. Now they all ask. And it was then we heard about coming off stage: "Alfie, Alfie, tonight a star was born!" "Who?" No wonder we all fell a little in love.
I think Alfie may have thought he made it into the d'oyly carte by the skin of his teeth -- but in fact it sounds like he was seen as a great treasure right from his audition.
Hello, I live in Greece and I like opera because it reminds me somehow of Ancient Greek theatre. Well I'm new to opera but I like to consider it more like some kind of theatre than another type of music, simply because it's not, although it combines music and other kinds of art. Thank you
Last year, I saw Alfie at a racing event where he sang an operatic version of Bob Marley's "No Woman No Cry/I Shot the Sheriff", and I can honestly say that my respect for him grew that night; the man can sing the phone book. I'm really jealous of Matt Lucas because he got to listen to him for free. Oh, and I think Alfie looks better clean-shaven!
I never knew anything about his dad, my dad was told he had 7 to 10 days left, he also lasted 10 months. I understand that emotion, that feeling of loss, that confusion. I said to my dad the day he died that he could go now, we would cope together. I love Alfie the more I learn about him. His voice brings such happiness and emotion. Long may it continue. Oh and him and Michael Ball together is just pure joy.

Bring Him Home just reminds me of when my Dad was dying in a hospice and all I wanted was him back with us all.
What a sweet soul - this really touched my heart. Thank you so much for posting.
Alfie singing bring Him Home = goosebumps :) x
I had the privilege of seeing him in Les Mis and Finding Neverland on broadway and meeting him. He's very kind to all of his fans.
You deserve it all Alfie
Salt of the Earth. And I can’t think of a better Tenor.
What a nice voice to be used as he sees fit. His family story reminds me of Susan Boyle and his mixture of music genre reminds me of Kristin Chenoweth. I wish Alfie much success!

A truly inspiring story to us all. And I agree with Matt Lucas, I don't think i could hear BHH in any other way aside from Alfie's operatic style any more.
I hope Alfie and Michael do a soundtrack with Country music.

I saw Alfie Bow at Aberystwyth University and enjoyed it. ❤

Thanks for uploading this.
?? The voice is just as glorious, with or without the beard.

Alfie you ROCK
awesome
Please watch his role in Les Mis! It takes a lot to impress me, and he sure did it. He is incredibly talented and seems like a nice guy too.
I love Alfie🥰

BRING HIM HOME ........ tears : 0 )
Very entertaining man.
How embarassing must that be to have your baby pix on national British television. xD
Love this man, great tenor.
It's only embarrassing if you were an ugly baby.
I'd watch a movie about his life.
He looks so much like his father.
I did. As a matter of fact I bought the dvd.
He's like if Sean Bean became an opera singer!
who is an international opera singer in the world?
Lo amo
I'm not saying his voice, it's his appearance. I first saw him in the 25th Anniversary, with the beard, and I'm just so used to it.
hey dad, I have a question who is an international opera singer in the world?
Yay! Another fan is born!
Wonderful r
🎉😂❤❤😂❤❤
Hahaha, great moment at 48:25
"Who's your brother!?"
"I'M JEAN VALJEAN!"
