Thank you for a real world review. There is very little info out there about this roll cover. I am considering the toolbox/cover combination.

I don't get much snow here in Texas. But the few times I've taken it up north it does not handle snow very well it locks up the cover and you can't open it if you had a heated garage that would melt the snow overnight I think you'd be fine. But again I live in Texas so I'm not the authority here.

Rain it does ok with. The water barrier between slats is a tape which was terrible in the first generation but the second gen has held up well. The PE Full metal integrates the water management into the metal interlocking slats which I prefer. Either way it's adequate but does need maintenance to keep the water channels free of debtors. Otherwise you end up with lots of water in the canister and subsequently the bed

How do you fix/adjust the spring tension so the cover will retract? the one I have quit retracting

2 things. #1 clean the rails that the cover slides in and lubricate if it's still not sliding along easily. If it slides along easily then you remove the top portion of the canister where it retracts and pull the cover all the way out (tailgate must be down) to where you can see it connected to the axle which has the torsion spring inside. Disconnect the cover from that axle holding the axle tightly and wind it up one or two more rotations which will make it a stronger pull than reattach the cover and see if it pulls it in. If it still doesn't pull it in you'll need to wind that spring up another couple rotations. It might sound intimidating but it wasn't that difficult when I had to do it to mine.
