thanks for the question this is the bye pass valve or spin down valve I used www.surpluscenter.com/Hydraulics/Hydraulic-Valves/Relief-Cushion-Valves/SAE-12-30-GPM-Hyd-Motor-Relief-Bypass-Valve-Fluidtech-FTA1382-9-8745.axd
I’m looking to convert a PTO wood chipper to run independently of the tractor. Any ideas? I have a Honda hydraulic pack that I use for my hydraulic breaker. Could I utilise that or am I just wishful thinking.
Probably not because you need free spin when shutting down. But when running you want a non-slip connection. Slip clutches are for sudden impulses, not free spin. And they work both ways. So you might get spin on the shut down. But also spin when try to mow. A by-pass valve is easy, works right and only needs a few fittings.
@@kimgardner4464 Thank you for your reply. I thought an overrunning clutch was like a ratchet that only transmits rotation in one direction. This would be distinct from a clutch that uses friction in a disc pack to limit max torque transmitted (but transmitting the torque without regard to direction). I will have to learn a bit more about the various clutches available.
Awesome idea what did you use to couple motor to gearbox?
I am doing the same thing to the same bush hog, do you have a part number for the pump and valve control block?
you make it ??
Interesting tires on the Bobcat. Never saw that pattern before.
Good evening, I'm from Brazil! What model of the directional valve is connected to the hydraulic motor? Thanks!

@@rretter2 Very good, I'm glad you helped me. Thank you!
What did it cost you for the pump and bypass if you don't mind me asking?
$467 for both
@@rretter2 would you happen to have part numbers this late in the game?
@@dmsacco yes should be at the end of the video
@@rretter2 ty. My ADHD kicked in before the end.
Looks like the mower could be mounted higher so that the arms could go all the way down.

wishful thinking I am afraid

Surplus Center had a hyd pump to pto coupling, it is in the parts list at end of video
How did you figure out which motor to use
Hi, Instead of the hydraulic relief bypass valve, would an overrunning clutch between the motor and mower input shaft work?

@@ImTheWildManofBorneo you are right
where did you get the pump and check valve.
Do you know how to read????? Or are you that dumb??????
Still working good? anything you wish you would have done different?
not a thing, it works great, I did add a chain brush guard to keep things from flying out as bad.
What size hoses you used half or three quarter?
1/2
Doesn’t that motor require a case drain?
no I have a pressure relief and spin down valve in line on the hoses.
I see no difference. Other than the horizontal to vertical abilities. However that's a big deal. ❤ nice.
For me a big reason I did this was not to have to drive my tractor backwards to brush hog and I can drive the skid steer forward to use :)
