to be fair, it's a good comercial. Hes gotta make as much money as he can to stay on air. if another show can make nbc more money he might get booted (might). most fans see nothing wrong with Jay doing these plug-ins. especially the smaller companies he promotes, probably for free or for free parts.
See! Jay's really still a car-crazy punk kid at heart. Going around town, looking for places to do burnouts in his borrowed Camaro. The silly part is, he knows which parking lots are best for that, so he must do it a lot.
I would've Never Thought any car manufacturer would do that this day and time with a "Line Lock" installed on their car's for just anybody to buy........that just amazes me.
A few years ago, I sold a few of my collector cars for some late model muscle. My ZL1 is scheduled for 1st wk of December. It has a 6 speed manual (a 10 spd auto is an option). It has a line lock, but so does my GT-350R. Not expecting it to out run the GT350R on the track (I don't drag race). At the Track, the GT350R gives our Z06/Z07 a run for it's money, but the Z06 is a much smoother street car. It's an interesting time for American Muscle Cars, I'm having a blast.
Wow guys i had no intrest in this car but now im going to rush out to my local Chevy dealer and have one ordered right away! I guess commercials DO make a diffrence :P
Mustang also had ''Burnout mode'' or whatever they called their version of line lock. Dodge also offers it on their Hellcat models. It's called ''First gear''.
All the mustang fans are like "mustangs had line lock since...?" Jay said "I rarely see line lock on a production car!" ZL1 is still a better car than a stang, by far!
They just throw 7th gear next to 5th. Then depending on the car reverse can be a few different places, you could put it under 7th, or either to the left of 1st or 2nd, or just plainly pushing down.
***** I didn't know it was. I haven't looked at the 2017 yet, since he was talking about 7 speeds I was just referring to any 7 speed car (such as the C7 corvettes).
Mr Leno... given that you're such a car guy, I highly recommend you come to Australia one year for the Summernats in Canberra!! Its a truly epic experience
Chris S because muscle cars, even though they are lovely! they suck at crash tests and i mean really bad... id rsther get a c63s coupe and renntech tune than this zl1.
Shitty Chris I agree, why is it always crash tests? folks who buy classic cars don't moan about stuff like crash tests. like myself I'd be happy with the camaro next to my classics.
Insurance cost kills sports cars for me. I'd rather have the M4 or AMG, both would have cheaper to insure for me. Plus both those would be much more reliable than anything GM makes.
I love when Jay says to Brad, "when WE were kids". Um, love you Jay, but you're old enough to be Brad's father. I guess it's a compliment to Brad, that Jay thinks of him as one of his crew, but it's still funny.
You know people say when they pop open the hood of the Camaro ZL-1 they immediately say that it's a corvette engine. It's not, however it does have the same supercharger and catalytic converters as the monsterous corvette ZR1 from 2012
Hey Jay, You haven't done a proper review on the ZL1 Camaro yet. I've only found this Paisley Burnout video. It would be great to see a full episode on the greatest Camaro ever build by chevy. Plus 2023 might be the last year ever for it. It would be a great episode. We would love to see it.
they are supposed to but sometimes they make exceptions. rarely but the vast majority get crushed. an example of the alternative is the Mclaren 675LT Coupe. before the Spyders were even confirmed to be made they had just 500 cars. the press 675LT's and all that were the last customer cars. but before the cars were delivered to customers they went back to the factory to be rebuilt as new. and i guess they probably threw out anything like the engine, transmission brakes and so on. maybe more.
Nope, Jay didn't say "rarely" he said "...something I've never really seen on a production car"...so he kinda did say the ZL1 was the first. Nobody's perfect.
sciedpower I paraphrased it. How did you interpret that he means the ZL1 is first from "something I've never really seen on a production car"?? Don't you see the word "really"?
All these folks talking about how Mustangs had line lock in earlier models. None of my business, but Ford had to do something to keep a Mustang in the road and not in a crowd of people at a local car show.
RALPHLAURENISTHEBEST that may well be, but we (uk) only have had access to the mustang, with the wheel in the right place 😋, for 12 months. So I don't know what came before this current one.
Yeah dum dums, Jay knows the GT350/R have line lock since he owns one. The idiocracy of street burn outs is evidenced by Jay's refusal to do one in the GT350R he actually owns.
Wow MT on an american muscle car? that's a revolution!!!! normally they have those boring 3 or 4 speed AT . and a cluster with real gauges amazing!! while the germs use the boring i pad screen bah. I love this car!
it's not in GEAR ! I almost choked laughing so hard. Jay will never let him forget .
how to engage 7th speed? LOL
This commercial was brought to you by Jay Leno's Garage
Was it about the car or the guy I never heard of?
to be fair, it's a good comercial. Hes gotta make as much money as he can to stay on air. if another show can make nbc more money he might get booted (might).
most fans see nothing wrong with Jay doing these plug-ins. especially the smaller companies he promotes, probably for free or for free parts.
Bilb Ono I only see the YT side of things. And indeed, Leno has a garage to keep up. He employs so many people in that vast building.
A 4 minute commercial no less. Cross branding too, gotta sell those Brad Paisley albums.
That's awesome...My buddy did the same thing in his mustang trying to figure out line lock.
Jay please you need to do a full on show on the ZL1 1LE M6 and give it the full treatment just like the recent Mach 1 and C8 Z06 shows.
See! Jay's really still a car-crazy punk kid at heart. Going around town, looking for places to do burnouts in his borrowed Camaro. The silly part is, he knows which parking lots are best for that, so he must do it a lot.
1st attempt...priceless..."dump the clutch...I did....are you in gear?...ohh...thats the problem"
Brad Paisley always seems like the nicest guy in the world.
0:13 Isn't that a 6 speed with reverse? I don't see a 7th gear option.
davidjhutchins yeah
Auto Young it's a 6 speed. Look at the shifter.
GradyRho92
You're correct...
smokey burnouts = guaranteed smiles! there is no way known to mankind to keep away the genuine happiness burning rubber brings the driver.
I would've Never Thought any car manufacturer would do that this day and time with a "Line Lock" installed on their car's for just anybody to buy........that just amazes me.
LOL! I love Brads face when he was trying to do the burnout the first time!
Thanks Brad! Needed a good laugh
A few years ago, I sold a few of my collector cars for some late model muscle. My ZL1 is scheduled for 1st wk of December. It has a 6 speed manual (a 10 spd auto is an option). It's an interesting time for American Muscle Cars, I'm having a blast.
I've been watching this channel for so long that the outro clip almost feels nostalgic. I need to start watching the TV show, I'm sure it's good
Lol all the mustang fan bois "LINE LOCK LINE LOCK LINE LOCK!!!! ME!! MUSTANG!!"
I have line lock in my 2016 Mustang GT Automatic ... maybe first for Standard Transmission?
Robert Glen nope my 2015 GT 6 speed has it
Robert Glen really 😂😂😂😂😂
Smoked it up like a champ
Wow guys i had no intrest in this car but now im going to rush out to my local Chevy dealer and have one ordered right away! I guess commercials DO make a diffrence :P
Awesome beast, such quality and power. LOL the shredded tire rubber!
7 speed? you can seen the H pattern stop at 6
6 forward, 1 reverse
They just throw 7th gear next to 5th. Then depending on the car reverse can be a few different places, you could put it under 7th, or either to the left of 1st or 2nd, or just plainly pushing down.
***** I didn't know it was. I haven't looked at the 2017 yet, since he was talking about 7 speeds I was just referring to any 7 speed car (such as the C7 corvettes).
it shows an "o" as in overdrive, which is the 7th gear. 1-6, then overdrive.
that is no "o" ist an "R" look closely 😏
Goodyear must love this.
Line lock avail since 2015 on the Mustang. With the performance package.
jay doesnt your 2016 gt350 has line lock? regardless the 2015 mustang came out with factory line lock
I had to google Brad Paisley to find out who he is. Never heard of him before.
Call me lazy 'cause I don't know who Brad Paisley is and don't care.
Mawerick77 lol trolling
jbob787
Trolling? How am I trolling? I genuinely had no idea who the guy is.
Mawerick77 must not listen to country
ProformanceTrucks
Nope. And I don't live in the US.
Guess jay hasn't seen the line lock that ford mustangs have had for a couple production years now...lmao
Mr Leno... given that you're such a car guy, I highly recommend you come to Australia one year for the Summernats in Canberra!! Its a truly epic experience
GM is putting out some really nice stuff at a cheap price, why the hell would you go for an M4, AMG or whatever if you could have that? :P
Chris S The eurosnobs will tell you it's a different "demographic" who buys their cars.
Shitty Chris now that's ironic with a name like shirty Chris ;)
I love when Jay says to Brad, "when WE were kids". Um, love you Jay, but you're old enough to be Brad's father. I guess it's a compliment to Brad, that Jay thinks of him as one of his crew, but it's still funny.

@ 3:20 - Are those big chunks of tire?!
Thomas Ferrugia yes
The seriousness in his face on the first attempt made me laugh so hard I started crying and I missed the second attempt.
Jay leno please review the original NSX
They'll probably take that car back to a local dealer and sell it as new
Martin Quin It's worse than that. All media and early production cars have to be crushed to avoid legal issues. I wish I was joking
nice hokes m8
they are supposed to but sometimes they make exceptions. rarely but the vast majority get crushed. an example of the alternative is the Mclaren 675LT Coupe. before the Spyders were even confirmed to be made they had just 500 cars. the press 675LT's and all that were the last customer cars. but before the cars were delivered to customers they went back to the factory to be rebuilt as new. and i guess they probably threw out anything like the engine, transmission brakes and so on. maybe more.
Nothing of value will be lost in this case.
That seems harsh, do you know why they have to do that?
Very cool i don't care if Mustang had the line lock first chevys got it now thats alot of car for in the $60s great video thanks Jay
hey jay how many garages do you have for your cars?
That red looks awesome on the zl1. Way better than the red displayed when it was first revealed
awesome J great video
First! Love the sneak previews guys. Awesome.
So the calf has low emition engines. But the smoke from the tires don't count ?
Are you in gear? lmao best part
My 2016 Mustang GT has line lock!
The mustang design sucks near a camaro
Jay the 2015 Mustang GT had line lock before this ZL1....hahaha
Actually if you get the track package on the mustang it has a line lock
Too lazy to fact check this so I will take your word for it. Cool beans.
Factory New Garbo Yes it does and I'm surprised jay didn't know that lol
NarfBLAST aye
he never said "it's the only car to have it" so i'm sure he knows that, bitches
line lock existing in Mustang since 2013
vanessamaria hernandez Leno said it's something he's rarely seen on a production car. Never said the ZL1 was the first.
Raúl I'll admit that it's somewhat ambiguous.
Mustangs suck !!!! Camaro is the street king !
"Oh sure you can do a burnout in my garage... but you'll be scraping those tire marks yourself... with a shaving razor" XD
PS Jay, have you ever driven one of the big tour buses? Is there a show there? Does anybody collect 'classic' ones from classic music makers?
I`m curious about what tires are on this beast. Seems sticky.
I have a 2015, 50 years anniversary mustang gt and it does have line lock
*Jay's the Best* 👍
2015 Mustang gt performance pack has line lock. Not the first.
Johnathan Yinger You can see the 7
Every 2015+ GT Mustang has it
Johnathan Yinger No one ever said it was the first?
Raúl Jay Leno did in this video
Johnathan Yinger where? I only heard him say that he has rarely see cars with such a feature. never heard him say it was first.
So who had the line lock to market 1st ZL1 or demon?
Jay please give us vid on the blue bugatti at the back !
Does the new Camaro have line lock with the 10 speed automatic trans?
when the cars steals the show!!
Jayded Leno. He's seen it all.
Stock up on tires. Thank Jay.
Awesome looking Camaro! :)
If I were youtube, I would have hired Jay Leno and taken this show as a youtube red exclusive. I would probably have youtube red if that were the case
youtube red would pay way less than a nbc show
Nice Jay
This is a commercial aimed at people who listen to Brad Paisley. I think it's funny how Jay is wearing a jacket with a Corvette logo haaa
William Levy Brad's wearing Z06 cap too haha
Brad Paisley and a Camaro?! yes!
HAHAHAHAHAHA-Brad looked like he was going to pinch one out when he went for the burnout - LOL
I just love seeing chunks of rubber flying off brand new $300+ dollar tires
Had this in my 97 mustang. Is that special or something?
meek miLL not really, $40 kit and in can put it in any car.
but you also have to override the anti-lock, traction control as well. todays production cars wont just peel out like that.
I wanna try too!
awesome
Taking the car back with bald tires
Jay said when We were kids to Paisly. Paisley is a GenXer, probably grew up strapped in baby seat in the back of a Honda Civic.
I love this dude !
" Burnout Paisley"
i love my beast ZL1 1LE 2019
Must be nice dude I’m getting a 2020 1SS
AWESOME!!!
1:38 that roar
I need that Camaro
matching speed with traffic while doing a burnout
Stylo,nice!
Jay didn't you learn from your last burnout session ride along! Haha I guess not, well at least there was no flips this time 😜
Awesome Car!!!
It's nice that GM put that in the Camaro. You can only do it once, but it's nice.
you rite 😁 whoo line lock Jay that's so new
All these folks talking about how Mustangs had line lock in earlier models.
None of my business, but Ford had to do something to keep a Mustang in the road and not in a crowd of people at a local car show.
Line locks wow flashback to how long ago?
What kind of engine does this thing have? W12 Tripleturbo with compressor?
jhkkjhk it's the modern LT4 Supercharged Corvette engine. Same thing found in the C7 z06s.
Jay's kinda back handing Brad Paisley with this one
Did you put it in gear, Brad? heh, heh ;)
line lock is standard on the camaro.option on the mustang
Now scrape and brush up that rubber and use it to make a couple of tires for my Mini Cooper !!!
crazy car
Doesn't the 2016 mustang have line lock?
Stephen Butler I thought older mustangs like 2013 had it also
RALPHLAURENISTHEBEST that may well be, but we (uk) only have had access to the mustang, with the wheel in the right place 😋, for 12 months. So I don't know what came before this current one.
Jay the new mustangs have a line lock on them also.
Yeah dum dums, Jay knows the GT350/R have line lock since he owns one. The idiocracy of street burn outs is evidenced by Jay's refusal to do one in the GT350R he actually owns.
new cars are cool but the older ones are more cooler👍👍
Hey, Jay, the line lock has been on every GT Mustang for the last 3 model years...
His biggest hit is the nationwide theme song
Wow MT on an american muscle car? that's a revolution!!!! normally they have those boring 3 or 4 speed AT . and a cluster with real gauges amazing!! while the germs use the boring i pad screen bah. I love this car!
My adblocker didnt block this cheesy 4:14 long commercial?
Does anyone ( KNOW ) what Jay said at 1:30 length?. Couldn't make it out... Great vid Jay !!!.
A Chevy commercial (Hey What Ever)
you haven't seen line lock In a production car before? whatever happened to the mustang?
