- Amazing day working on an oldie, fed the carburetor by gravity with new gas, cleaned the points "et voila", engine started and is running beautiful. The drive was a wonderful time travel to the past... Love

Who has such a car has a colossal treasure. It was a prestigious brand and still is. Congratulations to the owner and that the "love" as he deserves.

That is one gorgeous car.
If that car could talk, could you just imagine the history it would say
"Americans can't build good cars, they can't build anything good". Those people are unaware that we built the world's finest cars hands down for generations. We built the best electronics, the best timepieces outside of Switzerland, we even built Rolls Royce cars for several years. Rolls also gave Packard the rights to build their aircraft engines during WW2, and they improved the reliability of the design. This car is in amazingly beautiful and original shape and survived many hard times in this century. I don't see any car, including the most exotic lasting the next 50 years even when in a museum. A car from a time of hand building is still drivable and does well, such a treat to see.
I enjoy Pacabels Cannon. But I really would have loved to hear that Packard straight 8....

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas
station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel
pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in
the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems,
turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and
New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be
done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of
crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. :-((((((///
I hope that doesn't end up actually happening. Electric cars are bloody expensive, and very limited range. In some places it would be outright dangerous to force people to use electric cars because the limited range would see them run out of juice between towns, with several days walk to get help (no phone service)... People will die.
It's honestly like going back in time to the days of horse drawn carriages.
Not to worry. That law is too retarded to ever be enforced and everybody will just pretend it does not exist. Assuming, of course, anybody from then will actually remember that such a cretin law, made by retarded politicians at the behest of special interest groups, exists.
