    Excellent, very informative. The scatter rap has a similar lip to the old Heddon river runt, which was a hot bait over 50 years ago, on which my Dad and Grandpa caught lots of big fish. Wish they still made 'em.

    Tom, great video. I think between this video and then your live videos out on the water reviewing what you explain here, you cover everything that's needed. I know my family has learned quite a bit over the past few years watching your videos and have gotten great results on our body of water, Petenwell Lake (WI). We appreciate you covering all different types of water as well since we do not have close to the water clarity as you do up in the Hayward area. Keep up the great work!

    A little off subject but, last fall I was catching some nice fish. Eventually it went from hooking in the mouth to snagging them in the side of the face and sometimes in the side. Have you ever had that happen and what can you do about it? Great information and an incredible teacher.

    Awesome info! I watched it twice and took notes the second time! Do you think this in general would relate well to reservoir fish? I fish a relatively small reservoir less than 6,000 acres that the lake is at winter pool when the walleyes try to spawn but I think there are still some flats where I can apply most of this.

    Tom. Another amazing video. The walleye fishing community in Mn/Wis look forward to new videos like these. I have a questions regarding your spot lock position in relation to the rocks you speak about at 12:30. Are you up wind of the rocks in your spot lock, or do you prefer to lock your boat to the side of the rock structure and cast to the side. Thanks again!!

    • @TomBoley

  • @jimloehndorf3077

    Tom,
    keep up the great job! I do have a question. Why do you run two fish locators? Are they both Side Scan Illumination (SI) capable?

    • @TomBoley
      @TomBoley  4 года назад +2

      Both are capable but I like to have 1 fully devoted to si. The other I typically run chart and sonar.

    • @ballhawk387
      @ballhawk387 4 года назад

      I do something similar, and run my cheap old GPS, cheap old monochrome down-imaging sonar, and the SI sonar. That way all screens are up at all times, and I can have the best view of the small units I have.

    Hello Tom
    Your videos are so helpful. Thank you.
    Question.
    It is cold and early in Manitoba. But it is finally warming up.
    The walleye in my home lake seem to be suspended at 8 to 15 feet in 20-30 feet of water!!!@#$%%
    What is going on?
    How to I fish for these suspended fish?
    Trying drop shot and jigging but not getting them to bite.
    Please help

    Scatter kills trout and salmon too. Best action

  • @partialrecall5455
    @partialrecall5455 4 года назад

    You certainly know your stuff, but when I look at all this space age tech for catching fish, it reminds me how bad walleye fishing has gotten in northern Wisconsin...we have to use side imaging to sight fish the tiny schools of walleye still remaining.
    I'd much prefer to go to a fly-in Canadian shield lake where an angler of average ability can catch walleyes without so much effort - in a simple 14 foot boat, bench seats, 10 horse motor and basic sonar just to tell you the depth.

Is the tackle no good anymore or is there away to get scent off them? Please help any feedback is helpful. Thanks FROM SAD ANGLER.

    I have a question, you said the walleye spawn 40-47* ... is that roughly the general rule of thumb for all bodies of water? Like every walleye spawns at 40-47*?
