I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks for your content. Three years ago, I purchased a compound bow, and last year I decided to take the plunge and hunt for the first time-without any gear. No cameras or stands. I wanted to see if I would enjoy it, and now im obsessed. Already being a big hiker, this added another layer to my love of the outdoors. I now have three cameras and have spent the last few months chasing an 8-point buck that I’ve captured in 30 pictures. Your advice on tree stand location has led me to discover two great spots. After 4 sits I’ve seen over 30 doe and ready for my opportunity. Keep up the excellent work! Your passion for hunting and knowledge helps others like me. Happy hunting.
This channel has helped more than any other channel. Little overwhelming at first Becuz I’m so green. But you touch all bases not just land management. So much good public hunting knowledge here. Thank you for the content !!!
Been watching you for years and between you and a friend of mine who has quite a few P&Y’s I’ve learned so much and gotten addicted to how hunting. This year I feel like it’s all come together..got access to a neighbors property, was able to eliminate areas and concentrate on where I found sign and a transition of habitat, got a good 8 on camera at a scrape patterned (for now), and the cold front is coming over the weekend. Instead of hunting just whenever I can I’m staying out and I plan to burn a pto day Monday Lord willing and sell out for the evening hunt to play the predicted wind and thermals for my spot. Even if nothing happens I’ve never went into a spot with more excitement and confidence I was going to get an opportunity. We will see what happens but in short I greatly appreciate the content!!!
One thing I started to do was keep a small journal in my pack for things I did right, things I did wrong, and things I’m going to do next time. So far I haven’t made the same mistake twice lol
Not sure why Jeff does not have a million subscribers ?? He is giving out free gold and no one is sharing it !! Since my family started following Jeff’s advice we have all harvested our biggest bucks. Jeff is the real deal, wish I would have met him at Dunhams sporting goods back in the day !! Keep it up fine sir & Thank You from the Roy Family !!
I've seen more deer hunting in mornings since the 5th than I have in the evenings. Mornings right off the standing corn in a transition back to acorns before bedding. My target buck came through at 7:05am yesterday. Saw him last night after dark 800 yards away.
So far just seen a small 4pt buck. A bunch of does here in Northern Michigan. In the tree watching this love being able to watch deer hunting while deer hunting! 😂
My target buck showed up again a few days ago moving right at dark! Still waiting for some a daylight pic or 2 before im convinced to go make a sit for him
It's pretty bad for us in MN and WI! Made us make sure all of our waterholes are full right now, that's for sure. Crazy dry. I wonder if our first moisture will be SNOW!?!
Great content Jeff as usual…I always suggest my daylite pictures for mature bucks always begins around the 15th of October- I typically hunt those historical mid day spots as bucks begin to widen their range and mark their scent…great time to be in the woods…good luck brother May the Magic of The Whitetails forever Enrich your Life 🎯🎯🦌
Hey Jeff it would be nice to see a video on how to in-season scout during the early season. How to Balance avoiding pressuring your land versus the need to gather intel like finding early season rubs and scrapes. Thanks!
Been hunting the black hills of south dakota now for about 4-5 years now. I feel like im constantly learning but figuring out the food sources and bedding areas has been difficult and seems almost random. Could be so many different locations in such a large chunk of land.
SE Wisconsin going to have big temp drop Saturday. Had to plan my hunting days month in advance this year lucked out with a good front would prefer to hunt Monday after that front with high winds on Sunday. Still have a good feeling with Saturday.
2F Pa 🤌💯💪💪ANF Hunter since 8yrs old now 37.. oct 18th ill be to camp for Deer and Bear archery opener on 19th.. im do it different and get a climber involved instead of the ground. Atleast for them 4 or so days.
Hi Andrew! We begin sitting in the morning in about 2 weeks...still a bit early except for some really specific setups where you can get in way away from food, into the backside of bedding and wait for the deer to come to you in a very specific bedding area
I suppose we could do that Ethan, thanks for the suggestion. I will look into it. Not sure what the difference would be for someone just listening to it on RUclips instead of watching it? But I will try and learn a little more about it
@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751if people pay for RUclips they can listen to the audio while their screen is off, if not then the audio stops after the video is over I personally love hearing you talk and would love a podcast form!
Hi Caleb it really depends on the type of habitat and region...but 40-50 yards in very thick, small woodlot at land parcels...and closer to between 80 and 100 yards in big woods, open habitat areas where deer are less acceptable of human intrusion
My strategy this year was get my target buck on sep 22nd and lose my frickan mind the rest of the year wondering what im missing out on in the woods! Its cool getting what i wanted but being basically tagged out b4 the rut absolutely sucks
Jeff, had 3 nice bucks show up on camera last week. I hunted the cold front yesterday here in Indiana. About a 13 degree temp drop. Never saw them but did shoot a doe. These mature bucks actually began trying to make scrapes last week. Just curious on maybe I shouldn’t have hunted? I thought maybe them moving I would sneak in and get lucky. As you always say, I will stay out now until pre rut, so my area will have that 2/3 week rest period. Small parcel, 9 acres. Mainly a bedding area, I entered during grey light and did not spook anything out to my knowledge.
Still waiting for the big ones to show up haven’t sat once yet. Except for elk in early September. Any day now I’m expecting the deer to move into their fall pattern.
Beech tree nuts can be great in those conditions. Hardwood ridges right now along with swamp edges along hardwood ridges. Also marsh island funnels within 1/2 mile to 3/4 miles from big public land baiting areas...or distant private lands with food plots you can see from an aerial 😊
Jeff do you think its to early to hunt mornings. Suppose to have a good front saturday. I had 2 bucks on cam this morning 10 min apart in a kill plot of mine

Used the cold front during WI youth hunt to drop my sons first deer on Sunday morning! He’s already talking about trying bow hunting!
That's awesome! I just got my first ever deer (doe) here in WI on Friday with bow

Just killed a WI public land buck at six thirty the other day. First public land deer and first buck! 7 pt

It is DRY here in mid-Wisconsin. No rain for weeks, and none in the forecast for the weeks ahead. My food plot is awful.

When you pick out a ground sit by those scrapes, what is your strategy? Look for a down tree? Sit on a log? Ect?

We've had rubs and scrapes on the property for a week already here in Marquette County Wisconsin
Sat this morning and saw nothing

Same I’m just about done with archery. Seems like you have to have private land. Anywhere else is a shot in the dark.

Thanks Jeff, so far no lull got an average of 15 deer on my holding plot, they can’t wait to get there and are there for two hours a night.
Great video Jeff this weekend is going to be great here in Wisconsin! 80 degrees on Friday then dropping to 60s
Love the blacked out furnace!!! Mines on the way!
I’ve been out the last few days and I’ve seen nothing but small doe. lol I typically see a few mature does and at least one buck. Makes me wonder

How close should parallel deer travel corridor be to property lines that we use to travel to stands?

when would you start hitting a grunt call or banging antlers?
During the rut.
Got my 14 days of hunting scheduled. But if the wind is perfect around muzzleloader or gun imma be real sick that day 😂😂
Should you set up like 50 yards into the woods?
Saw some fresh ones yesterday.Do you blind call much?Or wait on natural movement.

How would you target bucks in the UP on public since there's no acorns or apples this year?

The whole country has a huge cold blast coming next week. I’m in Louisiana and it’ll be 45 degrees here next week🎉🎉
I’ve noticed I don’t see deer until about an hour after sunset.
Once again thanks Jeff, forgive me if I missed it but do you have a "how to buy a hunting property" video?
Jeff do you think its to early to hunt mornings. Suppose to have a good front saturday. I had 2 bucks on cam this morning 10 min apart in a kill plot of mine
My first chestnut bur just fell, too bad all I see on camera is coyotes, they still haven't left.
Jeff do u have a site that we can send are buck pictures too ?
Can you start doing some public land strategies videos.
Sat all day yesterday. Saw nothing
Why are you sitting all day already!?

Thanks a lot Connor!
New bucks showing up everyday on my cameras. These 40 degree mornings are getting them on their feet.
