- In this video, I am using one of my favorite welding cups, the Jazzy 10, and I show why it's one of the best welding cups for TIG welding certain projects. Download the mobile Weldmonger shopping app here if you're on mobile:

man Jody I think I started watching your videos in 2008 or 09- its been over 10 years! I dont watch youtube as much but you still have the best welding channel on youtube.
These #10's are the bomb! Pretty much all I use on my projects. Except for aluminum that is.....................but that's another story. You can get them anywhere, but why? Jody has taken the time to show us how's it's done. I buy them exclusively from the Weldmonger store to support the local guy doing a good thing.
I've had a few furick cups over the years and purchased the furick tig pro kit from you to support the channel. I have to say the 10 jazzy cup is one of my favorites. It works well on many applications. Thanks for the videos...
I love my jazzy 10 that I ordered from you guys about a year ago, so I ordered 2 more about 3 months ago from you and it is my go to for mild steel almost every time! And the fupa 12. I get just as good of results out of the 10 with less argon so I primarily use it.
Got the app. Bought some gloves. 🧤 got the cup! You showing my how to weld. Priceless! Thank you Sir. You have brought another income stream into my life!
thanks for taking the time to teach us it's really keeping my mind fresh and ready for work
Thank you for the excuse I can give my old lady to finally get the 10 cup. "But its free dear" :) thank you for all your knowledge. You have without a doubt made me a better welder. Cant wait to try the new cup.
Thank you very much for all the videos Sir! I'm attending Tulsa Welding School and many times I've been helped greatly by your videos. I think it's absolutely amazing the amount of information you have shared. I owe you
Very amazing video on TIG. I was going to "convert" one of my many welders (Mig, arc, arc, arc, arc) , but after watching your videos; I need to buy a real TIG. Keep up the good work on your videos.
Wanted to say that the new app was super user friendly and easy to use. I picked up a couple things to capitalize on the free jazzy 10! Thank you! 🙌🏻
I have been a metal worker for 36 years. The blacksmith type. As my farrier career is winding down I have been considering doing welding work. So I can work from my home shop I would like to become a tig welder. Also I am very attracted to pretty tig welding. I am a fan of it and also fascinated by it. I am 56 years old. Is there enough time left in my life for me to become proficient enough to really lay it down? Build a small side business? If money was not an issue, what machine would you buy? Thanks for you videos and podcasts.
Got mine in the mail yesterday - apparently ups use pigeons to deliver to Australia. Can’t wait to give it a run on the weekend 👍🏻
Done! Just bought an AHP so thanks for the brand new cup for my brand new machine. Bought the stubby converter!
👌sweet video! Thanks Jody! Won’t be long now and I’ll be tiggin!!!
Blessings!!!
Off topic but would you please consider doing a video on how best to see the welding process when you are welding? I can see better with TIG and Stick but MIG is a constant problem. I have tried several helmets and all of their adjustments with little consistent success. Every once in a while the sky opens and the weld is perfectly visible but I can't ever figure out what I did differently. The best help I have found so far is using bright light on the weld. I'm sure you have some insight into this issue and I would be very grateful to hear it. Thank you.
Nice! The jazzy 10 is my go to! Thanks Jody
I love the quite, clean no splatter of Tig.
I have a Miller Syncrowave 250 but haven't used it in some time. I had a job to weld several thousand stainless steel collars onto 1-1/8" stems but the job ended.😀
Mine only has a foot pedal which is sometimes inconvenient.
Just got my jazzy and furik set up, I love it!!!! Thank you!!!!
Mr. Jody, i don't remember if i ever seen you weld aluminized steel like the kind that's used for automotive exhaust tube. thanks for your teachings💪
Exhaust tube is both aluminum killed and aluminum coated. The aluminum coating is easily removed in weld areas but even GTAW doesn't have a problem in my experience. It acts like a deoxidizer, the same reason it is used to "kill" steel after the oxygen lance has burned out excess carbon, chromium, phosphorus etc. The steel is now a fizzy ladle with lots of carbon dioxide, monoxide and oxygen. Adding silicon or aluminum reacts and stops the bubbles, forming small amounts of silicon or aluminum oxide. Most of it floats to the top of the strand casting tundish.
1 of the best channels on RUclips....Thank you Jody....!!!
1:28 I find this true, but have noticed a ceriated tungsten stays sharper on AC with the newer inverter welders and their new fangled programs! Seriously Good videos!
Best tips from the best welder...
I love your videos, best information, best results....
Good work.....
🤗🥇
So glad to see an app! Looking forward to ordering from there. Great video as always. Really appreciate the details on what hardware you’re using. Also I really appreciate your scientific method of isolating and testing variables. Great learning tool. Thanks!
Good timing for a video, I have an exhaust job coming up
Just ordered a 2 pack of jazzy 10's through the app!! I love a 10 over an 8 on stainless, but I don't like the big 10 cup on a large gas lens.....prefer the stubby GL, now I can use a 10 cup!!
As a novice welder with a MIG on hand, I'm thinking of getting a TIG. Any suggestions on an inexpensive home/DIY model? Do I really need a foot pedal?
As always, thanks for the knowledge on the videos.
Just added the app! Looks great! Also did the jazzy 10 set. Keep up the great work!
Your always valuable tips, thanks.
Thanks Jody. Nice video!
Nice camera work as always Jody. What are you using? Cheers for all your contribution to the welding trade. I will have to get one of these cups.
Sweet app! Easy to use just placed an order! great video as well thanks Jody.
Hey Jody the clear cups are the best thing I’ve ever used!! Any idea when the store will have 10’s in stock?
It might be off topic but in regards to scratch start tig, would it be feasible to wire a foot control disconnect into the ground clamp circuit to start and stop the arc? Thank you for the excellent content you put out there for us.
Done, didnt see a way to add the jazzy so hopefully that is automatic!
it is automatic.
May be a silly question but, oh well.... Would it be correct to compare MIG to TIG in terms of strength. For instance when welding a trailer would TIG welds be as strong as MIG? Or is TIG actually stronger? I know there are probably a ton of variables but still. Thanks! Always enjoying your videos.
absolutely appropriate. Tig is far cleaner and stronger but its still not used for everything. Mig stick great for dirty metal, lawnmower repairs, farm equipment, manufacturing etc etc. Tig is used a lot in aerospace titanium/inconel, They xray the welds on some parts to make sure they are perfect.
Love the tube welding videos, next time could you do some side profile of the bead. I’ve been practicing on tubing as well, going to build a drag car one day. I’m just not sure if I’ve got enough reinforcement, my bead lays in nice but it seems to be laying down below like if I held a straight edge over the 2 copes. I don’t know if this is acceptable in the roll cage industry? Thanks for the video, going to go and get the app, going to need some stuff here soon.
what is a good welder for a beginner? I'm not a pro but like to do some around the barn on projects for friends and neighbors to do aluminum and other metals?
@weldingtipsandtricks Hey Jody firstly thanks for all your vids they have been a real help for me as I am a boilermaker apprentice. I was hopi g I could put in a request as I'm having a bit of difficulty with one particular position. I am trying to weld some long 150x75x6mm U-beams to a base plate (pipe support stand). However I am consistently getting slag inclusions at the inside corner. I have tried with 6010 and GP, upped my amps and so on. I could just tig it this time, but I'd rather find a solution incase I need to run the same position out in the field. Your advice would be a massive help. Keep it up and stay safe. Thanks again 🖒
I really wish I could see the puddle as well in real life as I do in your videos. I imagine it took a while to figure out how to film it as well as you do.
7:35 gota us the new app!!!! Woo howw, moving up in this moddern world .
2nd time today I heard about that is Cruisin the website when I got the notification about the video sign me up Scotty
Always nice vids n great info ! Thanks
Any chance of covering TIG welding for beginners with a unit with just 4 settings as on an older 110V MIG unit without digital read out converted to TIG?
every now and again i get a blinding white light from the arc...? what am i doing incorrectly - great video - ordered a jazzy yesterday...(stainless not carbon) - contamination?
Make sure you have a hood that has 4 sensors and not just 2.
@@Hunteratloppshop lincol viking hood 4 sensors - miller elite retro i think has 3 - any other possible
Great video.
great info brother thanks for the video😁👍
I'm happy to see your once, secondary avenue to show your worth is now becoming your primary source during these absolutely ridiculous times of the Ch-👁️-nese virus that somehow never stop?! On Android too, thank you sir!
Free cup for a purchase... 🤔 I reckon you have yourself a deal 🤝 & boy did you add a metric TON of new gear to the store too!
After what I assumed would be a quick look for gear... has now turned your application into my go-to shop for all things and the biggest pain is trying to find those darn diffuser screens for the Furrick cups! The actual screens for these cups, not the out of spec Amazon junk you'll find...
thanks for your support
So, I purchased a CK-17 flex head torch and a stubby gas lens kit from your web site.
So “any” of the Furick cups (alone) will adapt to my torch , without buying anything additional, correct?
I do sch 40 anodized ect..ac on 225, 300 amps 3/32 same right on down to polished 65 wall ss tubing...332 2% lanth all the way
Are Lotos 3 in 1 welder/ plasma cutters any good? Lotos CT520D in particular
I have a question...I was a professional Mig welder for a company for a few years...got hired by another company to be their Mig welder but when done with the Mig (for the day) was asked to do Tig...( i have never been a good Tig welder but I did pass their Tig test) at the end of my Tig welds (not all the time and not in my TIg test) but I would get porosity just at the very end of the weld. Or when connecting a weld to another. My Tig welds looked great except for the very end. Any ideas as to why? This was years ago and I have since gotten out of the business, just curious why.
I was welding steel 16-14 ga
Hey Jody? Where did you go? I hope you are well.
Jody your the man to ask Is their a CK flex head torch that will work with my ahp alphatig 201? Thanks drake ps im downloading the app
Barbie welds here I come. GTAW is the Barbie process, accessories out the yazoo.
But since my next big project are two stainless exhaust manifolds, a Jazzy cup will complement the gas lens kit.
I ordered gloves on the app Friday night after I got the email about the free 10 cup, but I noticed the offer said it was good for this weekend. Does that mean I ordered too soon for the free cup or am I good?
Jody, great vid as always, but I'm building a rollcage and need to know how to tig those joints while I'm laying on my back with the foot pedal between my knees. How do you tig out of position?
Thumb switch/dial helps.
Is there any kind of heat sink used while welding thin materials?
I’ve had big problems getting a clear pyrex cup to slip over the o rings. They either won’t go or they push the orings oiff
Can you detail how to setup tig machine for welding steel
What camera are you using please....
Good job
Do you have to order so much to get the free 10 cup
A sincere thank you for your videos Jody. I find them so helpful. Do you ship to Australia?
Yes we do
Left handed? Or using the torch in dominant hand?
OK I now see him screwing on the tips with his left hand also.
Very clearly ..
Does the 120 amp to .120 stay the same with other types of arc welding?
Damn wish I could tig like him
What is the 'cup'?
Como puedo ordenar en español y recibir aquí en Nicaragua please answer
How do you oxy fuel weld a 2" pipe
What amps you recommend for 1/4 cast aluminum
A lot more than you think you need! Aluminum welded too cold means you spend way too much time trying to weld it. If I recall welding 1/4" 6061, I was up around 180-200 amps and moving quickly.
I ordered from the app but I didn’t know if I needed a code for the 10 cup
no code required, we are keeping track and will add the jazzy 10 cup
weldingtipsandtricks thanks
Mais um video exelente! Parabéns e obrigado por tudo que eu aprendi sobre solda com o senhor (tig, mig, e o que eu mais gosto , ( eletrodo revestido )
Just put an order in on the app and didn't receive an option for the jazzy 10?
It will be included with your order
@@weldingtipsandtricks awesome thanks!
E3 is best for everything
Can you comment on the utility of the Jazzy10 cup for welding Al?
its not recommended for AC welding. I have used it on a few aluminum jobs where I needed a long stickout but normally, there are other cups that work better on aluminum.
Awesome, thanks Jody. Do you have any videos covering cups for Al?
Why not do world wide shipping for your products?
He has done in the past, I purchased the Furick kit off him and he shipped it to New Zealand no problem, very happy. I suspect Covid has limited international sales/freight.
Классно) Спасибо!
Just installed on all 3 of my phone's 😅👍🏽
👍😍
So my question is when you hit the tungsten with the filler rod do you grind it off or just cut it off & make a new point?
A hot tungsten to the back of the leg is my favourite mistake 😫
Necesito gas lens
молодец
✊🏼
Biggest mistake in tig welding, listening to people who can't tig weld tell you how to tig weld!!!!!
