I just wanted to explain that the Volkswagen Gol shown in the image is not powered by a 1.0L engine, it uses a 2.0L engine, it is our GTI version of this vehicle and is still successful today as a landmark car today.

A lot of these are not sold in America, which is a shame. Most of those from the 70s and 80s that we didnt get are GORGEOUS. If we got those instead of the crappy Rabbit and other junk boxes, I would have a higher and more positive opinion of Volkswagen than I actually do.
You say European cars are rare in America, but it's the opposite where I'm from. Every few years, I see at least one 1970s Eldorado which I've actually known since primary school.

In Brazil, there was a special version of the Type 2, with side and rear windows from the T1, but front from the T2. We never had a T3

Well I tink the best period of vw is 1960s-1974 . After this moment vw begen ruining itself but somehow managed to become even more popular. Yea,ok the golf,passat were popular but the air-cooled vw are still the best.I hope vw will make one day a compromise to work with porche and restore the great air-cooled cars.
