Tune in again for another episode of the "Jersey Girl" Thanks for this Yvonne, fyi, in about 1993 I had a tour of the Canucks locker room on a game day, I was suprised to see the equipment trainer using a lighter to remove fraying from a jersey hanging up in stall.
Excellent. Ever try Shout? Also, I had a discoloration in denim that defied everything. I applied the liquid detergent directly to it before washing and bingo.
As a collector on older authentic ccms, kohos, and proplayers... I wash on a delicate cycle (cold cycle) and hang to dry. I also soak em in an Oxyclean bath in a plastic tub for 6 hours and agitate by hand once every hour. For spot treatment, I use Oxyclean spot remover max force (follow directions on bottle and use a soft bristle toothbrush to scrub out the stain). Always spot treat before you wash em if needed because if your jersey had hidden dirt/debris in the fabric, it will leave a ring shaped "stain" on it. Hope this helps you all out
Great tips Yvonne! Very helpful! I chuckled when you said Shannon had to leave the room everytime you got the lighter out to burn off the fraying. lol I've been doing that for years after learning that that honor guard soldiers do that on their dress uniforms before inspection.
over here in GER , I use Vanish for those white stains, works fine too. I used UHU glue and a toothpick to put the logo back together along the lines, sometimes I went a bit deep underneath the crest or in between it, and pressed it together....works fine.
Great video! Any tips on how to get bubbling out of a crest (damn Robopens...)? I have tried ironing, and heat pressing, and nothing works. I was thinking of applying fabric glue on the inside of the jersey to soak through to the back of the crest and then sit some phone books on top for a couple of days. Any help?!
Would the fabric glue work on logos that have little points on them where the factory didn't go all the way up I have a couple that are that way and it drives me nuts
Wow I will use this forever . Ive never liked a video this fast in my life😂 my blue Vasi jersey has 2 drops of pen ink on the white part on the right sleeve. Ive used so much shout. Idk what else to do
I use straight dish soap on grease stains. Soak before washing. Hang to dry just in case the stain is not out. The dryer will set the stain. Repeat as needed.
Hi Yvonne! I bought a Bruins jersey and unfortunately some of the stitching on the very outer edge of the Spoked B on the front frayed a little bit because it rubbed up against the strap of my crossbody purse. It's the centennial home jersey, so it's gold sparkly thread that frayed. Is there anything that can be done about it? (Other than not wearing a crossbody over it again, lol...) This was also a great video to watch. I would truly never have thought of FLAME to fix the tufty fraying of those letters!
I have heard Shannon talk about y'all Scotch-guarding jerseys. Do you literally just spray scotchguard on the entire logo? Numbers and patches as well? Thank you so much for the excellent advise, been collecting some jerseys that need a bit of love recently!
Does the baking soda + bleach combo work on badges too? I have a few stains on my bolt logo on my Tampa jersey that has been bugging me, thanks for the video though it was definitely needed.
Maybe I missed it, but what do you do if you have a dark blue jersey that gets a stain on it? Can’t use bleach. Just regular stain remover and put it in the wash?
Great job, Yvonne. Does Fray Stop work as well as the lighter for those not wanting to burn/melt their jerseys? Heard about it but never used the stuff.
Thank you for your very informative video, Yvonne! I do in fact have a question... how do you best get out any bubbling or wrinkling of the numbers on the back of a jersey? I have a scarcely rare authentic Phoenix Coyotes alternate jersey that has the back numbers slightly bubbling a bit and barely noticeable, but it is there. I don't believe I would need to pay the high cost to get the numbers stripped and replaced. As a separate second question, I also have an authentic San Jose Sharks road jersey with the original logo on it. I have taken such good care of it and has been stored properly, but I have noticed recently when I hung it up on a hangar in my closet that the white numbers have turned a very very slight yellow to it and most may not see it either, but I can. Does it mean I have to have it cleaned to get them back to pure white or do I get it customized again?
I don't put my Soccer & ice hockey jerseys in Laundry machines , plus it'll bust up my name number & patches as well I only clean them in hand wash cold water
Great video, so thanks for posting. I have the Kraken Winter Classic jersey with the felt logo, would you recommend washing that the same way as a regular jersey? (Inside out, Cold wash?
Get some fabric glue, put it on the back side of the logo, not too much glue, and as it dries have a book or something weighing it down. If you know someone that sews, I also stitch the logo on with a zig zag stitch and the logos tend to curl.
my hat collection needs help.i find that the sweat seems to leech the colors out of them. i have 1 reebok specifically i want to save.and im afraid to wear my expos hats outside because theyre blue.should i be spraying them with somethiing? hats are no joke,my adidas hat cost 45$ i also cant replace my expos hats.i really want to wear them again.could you spare some knowledge of hats please? everyone has a hat,not everybody can afford a jersey. a hat is the topper of the look i want to achieve :O never neglect that hat, like i seem to have done. great 1st vidja vyonne. do hats! gohabsgo
Oxyclean baths work on major staining..,in a laundry tub, dissolve the Oxyclean in hot water, add cold water to bring temperature down to warm, soak jersey in bath for about 5 hours occasionally brushing stains with boars hair brush or toothbrush to work stain loose.. give a good rinsing with cold water, then wash in washing machine as usual turned inside out I forgot to mention from beginning of entire process to end
Bleach on polyester is iffy to me…bleach pulls color out of polyester…white polyester is white bc it’s dyed white ..bleach dissolves that dye and causes yellowing of white polyester
This video needs to play on loop at the Hall of Fame
Fanatics needs to hire Yvonne.
This video has Bob Ross vibes!!! Great Job Yvonne!
ASMR jersey care! Brilliant ❤
Great job. This video has been years in the making, If only I could sew.
For a second I thought it was a bonus Boylei Hobby Time video
Great video, learned a lot before my first purchase of a hockey jersey!

👀one step closer to Yvonne doing a how to on sewing on a jersey kit video
Oh...there's an idea. I did a sewing on patches video once. -Yvonne
Yvonne, great video thanks for making it!
Hockey jersey collector from Rome, Italy here. Great video Yvonne, thank you so much!!!
Excellent. Ever try Shout? Also, I had a discoloration in denim that defied everything. I applied the liquid detergent directly to it before washing and bingo.

Awsome video Yvonne is amazing, I have about 150 jerseys and will check to see if I need to use her magic
Thank you for the info. It really helped me out.
You are both a wealth of knowledge. I love it!
My new favorite ASMR video
Thanks Yvonne!
Great video, thanks Yvonne!
Nice one! Thank you, Yvonne. Great tip about Velcro.
P.S., There is absolutely no "soap" in Dawn dish detergent. Vastly disparate chemicals.
This was a video I didn’t know I needed
Great tips Yvonne! Very helpful! I chuckled when you said Shannon had to leave the room everytime you got the lighter out to burn off the fraying. lol I've been doing that for years after learning that that honor guard soldiers do that on their dress uniforms before inspection.
Awesome video thank you very much!!
My Reeboks are dying, this is a huge help
Great video. Thanks for all your content.
Yup more of these videos please

This was very helpful, thank you!
That was wonderful to listen to & learn from! Thank you, Yvonne!
Amazing!! More please
Thanks for sharing Shannon and Yvonne! ❤
Scotch guard should be a sponsor. Thanks for doing this. Velcro == evil.
Haven’t watched, yet, but I love this idea for a video! I’m a newbie when it comes to owning jerseys, would love more jersey care content!
Great video!
Thank you so much! :)
Omg Yvonne thank you so much, I need to preserve my reeboks
Was about to go looking for one of your older videos about jerseys repairs. Good timing!
Definitely gonna be coming back to this video whenever i get a Jersey, knowing how bad i am with clothing and keeping them nice 😆.
What would make Shannon leave the room?
"What you need to do is burn this."
Aaaaahhh😱

I haven't found a solution, it's a bubble between the layers and is so annoying. -Yvonne
Anyone else found Yvonne’s voice to be therapeutic…anyone?
ASMR vibes!!! ❤❤
THANKS!!!
Would the fabric glue work on logos that have little points on them where the factory didn't go all the way up I have a couple that are that way and it drives me nuts
I always sew the points on logos and glue doesn't seem to be enough, the snag on things and lift again. -Yvonne
Great video
Best content so far
Thank you, Yvonne. Expert advice
this is solid ASMR I return to listen to this even though I don't need to repair a Jersey
Wow I will use this forever . Ive never liked a video this fast in my life😂 my blue Vasi jersey has 2 drops of pen ink on the white part on the right sleeve. Ive used so much shout. Idk what else to do

Extremely useful video thank you very much Yvonne

Bro same😂
More Yvonne!
Totally information that i have no use for, but i enjoy watching!
Awesome thank you. How do you fix coloured fabric that bleeds into white areas?
I would wash with a bit of oxy and use a colour catcher in the wash, though I've never seen a jersey bleed as they are polyester.
The hockey lady channel happening when?
Yvonne does ASMR.
Excellent stuff Yvonne. Would the grease/oil stain tip (baking powder and Dawn dish soap) work on cotton coloured tee shirts too?
I use straight dish soap on grease stains. Soak before washing. Hang to dry just in case the stain is not out. The dryer will set the stain. Repeat as needed.
@@valeriehowden471 thanks!
This is really good unintentional ASMR 😴
great look thx yvonne
Hi Yvonne! Watching in the UK.❤

Yes, I sure do. I hang it outside and spray the whole thing, two coats. Works great.
@@TheHockeyGuy Thank you so much for the reply, I will definitely be doing this with my jerseys from here on out!
this is a long time coming
W Yvonne!
Was kinda hoping for a Scotchgarding demo... 😅
Great vid

Sounded like she only uses on white areas.
@@valeriehowden471 the inside of the bolts logo is white........
I have before, if it like time spot stains. Be very careful though. You can't have the bleach touch any colours at all.
@@TheHockeyGuy Thanks so much, I shall try this as it is laundry day. Thank you for all your contributions to the channel as well!
Maybe I missed it, but what do you do if you have a dark blue jersey that gets a stain on it? Can’t use bleach. Just regular stain remover and put it in the wash?
Never use bleach on colours. Never never. For colours, I use a Dawn dish soap and baking soda mix or stain remover.
@@TheHockeyGuy Awesome thanks I figured as much. Of course, my best move is to not get a stain on my custom jersey! ;)
I would never wash with Hot or Warm water . Cold is better . I always hang mine to dry .
Holy lord.If I can quote the late Norm.
I'll leave you to your own devices then. Uncle Hector, ya damn fool! That's Kitchener Leslie's girlfriend!!
The closest thing we’ll get to the THG April Fools ASMR video. I’ll take it.
Great job, Yvonne.
Does Fray Stop work as well as the lighter for those not wanting to burn/melt their jerseys? Heard about it but never used the stuff.
It doesn't work nearly as well and doesn't clean up existing edges which is why I use the lighter. -Yvonne
good stuff
It would be cool if Yvonne had her own channel.
I thought she did.
I did at one point, but people that didn't like Shannon's channel came on to my channel and were horrible, I just don't have time for that. -Yvonne
Understandable, I wish people were kinder to each other. @@TheHockeyGuy

So the mix can only be used on white jerseys?
Yes, bleach can only be used on white. Do not let it touch colour, it bleaches. For stains on colours you can use a Dawn and baking soda mix.
