I went to med school … and this is how I feel in the ER daily. It’s not all glory on the other side.
At this rate, his trial will take years. What a clown. I feel sorry for anyone that has to be around him. Even other inmates.

Once he gets to prison gen pop, he'll tone it down or be beaten to a bloody pulp on a regular basis.
I worked my local county jails for 20 years, if the other inmates can get to him they will kill him as he deserves!!! First he will suffer a severe beating and be rushed to the nearest level 1 trauma room to see if they can save his life. If they succeed and he comes back to jail they will do everything in their power to end his life. He sure did not think of the lives he took. The beating should be slow as the inmate beating him reminds him of the lives he took and that his going to be taken.. This piece of crap needs to face the families with complete immunity for the families while they do justice on this worthless Punk!!!!! He is not fit to breathe!!!!! They should put a stun belt on this bonehead and shock him every time he acts out. 50,000 volts will get his attention!!!!

The judge decided to televise this circus. Ppl can form opinions and voice them. Happens in trials all the time. Even professional defense attorneys attack victims in the most horrendous way.

Believe now that hearings and trials are held in person, he has the right to be there. This thing may take a very long time. He is likely not impressing the jury.. May be part of the strategy to claim the jury was tainted by his behavior. He is a very twisted man.
Seeing a person exclusively on video can be dehumanizing in both ways that the jury doesn't see a human when sentencing and oppositely his behavior for contempt of the court. The conduct of Darrell Brooks is contemptable and repulsive so it's in the prosecution's best interest to have him there in the court.
Agreed, and you know Brooks is only doing this crap to hope he can get a mistrial and walk free, since he isn't the type of person to accept responsibility for his actions.

So NOW the pendulum has swung so far from “beyond a reasonable doubt” to “beyond any doubt at all” in order to find someone guilty or even to remand them (no bond) after an arrest.

@@Wildstar40 Because in the end of all this he is going to try to overturn any verdict by saying he was at a disadvantage in court due to him representing himself or some other braindead argument along those lines about his lack of counsel . The Judge is giving him every single break and explaining everything so that argument holds little water as he was warned not to represent himself to begin with AND was given all these advantages and explanations during court.

I think someone needs to test the judge to see if she if sane and fit for judging. These two seem to feed off each other and in the end she keeps allowing blatant contempt of court again and again and again, over and over again like she is expecting different results. The very definition of insanity is repeating things over and over expecting different results every time. This is a Kangaroo Court and a change of venue and judge is greatly needed here.

She is being patient because, once she has a solid enough foundation, she can revoke his self representation for deliberately obstructive and dilatory behavior. It take a lot to get that far to a level that can't be argued and it seems like she is giving him enough rope to hang himself.
Doubt it... Defendant will get a public defender soon whether he likes it or not, because the alternative will be that he forfeits. It's hard to represent yourself when you're stuck in another room or, worse, in a jail cell for contempt.
She is wisely giving him just enough rope to hang himself. She definitely has patience to deal with this behavior in the meanwhile but she'll be forcing an attorney on him very soon or at least that's what I assume.

Toward the end of the video, he says that he does not consent to an estoppel, but just because this legal term contains 'stop' in it he THINKS it means she is pausing the trial against HIS wishes. Estoppel means something else entirely!
There is no need to feel bad for this judge. She is trained for this. She knew in advance that even on his best days, Darrell Brooks was nothing more than a petty, argumentative, disrespectful jerk.

Well the problem is that when you are someone facing the death sentence or life in prison there isn't anything they can do to him there that he cares about so he is just going to prolong this trial as long as possible. That is his only goal right now and they don't have any tools that will dissuade him from doing it.

If he continues after that,, she needs to cease the court hearings until further notice. Plain and simple. She has the power to do such thing.

This is frightening. I’ve seen dozens and dozens of sovereign clowns and they mostly waste time in traffic courts or tenant/property disputes. But something as serious as murder!? Now that the trial is over I don’t feel bad for DB’s mom. She put up with this time and time again and didn’t do anything about it but gave him an excuse for his actions.
