Got this for Christmas in 1970. I was 6 years old. What was even cooler was I actually got to see the real funny cars race back in the day at OCIR, Lions and Irwindale. Great times!!!!
How cool it is to see this commercial. Had this as a child and as an adult. Cost a helluva lot more as an adult!!! Hot Wheels and Don Prudhomme were a big part of my childhood back in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Man what fun we had with all the Hot Wheels and track sets. Good times.
I'm shocked Mattel allows this video on RUclips!! I used to have lots of vintage Hotwheels commercials on my website in the late '90s and they sent me a letter threatening to sue me if I didnt take them down!

The voice of the announcer in the commercial should be familiar to anybody in Southern California as the voice of KABC Channel 7.
@vintagetvandexciting In Cleveland Ohio in the early Sixties, he was the horror host, Ghoulardi.
