Carranger was however was a change of pace as it was a parody series with it not trying to be serious and it works. Carranger was very much the Den-O of the 90s.
He was also once married to fellow sentai ranger.(its deka pink) Speaking of deka pink, she turned to voice acting after deka. Landing the voice of tsubasa/ holic Mokona and Mai otome's Arika.
I was actually wondering if Love After World Domination's idea had been done in a Super Sentai or tokusatsu series. Considering Super Sentai's been a thing for 40 years, I figured the "ranger" and villain love story *had* to have been done at least once.

I actually love that the anime is pretty much a love letter to these concepts and ideas people had during Super Sentai's run and somewhat during some of the Power Ranger series. It still does a good job to bring in the comedy but immediately go back to the idea that they are genuinely fighting to stay together.

Also in Jetman - Ryu/Red Hawk and Rei/Maria. Although it didn't come to plot until late in the series. Rei was a subordinate/partner to Ryu in the squad they're in. When Vyram attacked their space station base, Rei was sucked out into space and was taken and brainwashed into Maria.
But mask fishing exists...and, they end up having high expectations for what you look like...still, I find it adorable how she likes him with his mask because it's not just his looks...which is a bonus by the way!

I just finished watching Carrangers as a Whole earlier. From episode 1 to 48. God the Mecha fight Drama do not compare to the new ones. The drama in the older ones are MUCH MUCH better than the newer ones. The newer ones win in terms of design but thats it. Oh and zonnette and Red racer was such a good development.
Nah, not a fan of current Sentai and Rider designs, makes me glad that Ultraman is still consistent and only saves the crazy designs for power ups or spin off characters
After watching ep 1 of Love After World Domination (which you indirectly recommended with this clip, thanks, I needed a wholesome show now), I can honestly see the writer taking heavy influence from this side story XD
This concept actually is quite popular in the western shows. Time Force did it, Ninja Storm did it twice with two different pairings, RPM did it while also doing the "it is my sister" twist at the same time, more recently Beast Morphers too. Its quite fun.
