I agree I miss mine! My father bought a 99 Cherokee sporty before I got into high school he loved these Jeeps and in turn I love them now that I got older and see how badass they are. I drove it all throughout high school, but the only thing I cared about back then was skateboarding lol! I sold it when I went to college and just recently got it back after 6 or 7 years. She’s gunmetal pearl sport version 2 wheel drive I’ll end up converting it at some point. She’s in excellent shape down here in the south for sure needs some TLC. My pops bought two pre 97 XJ’s when I was a kid and swapped parts until it was running like a sewing machine! Anyways what I mean to say is enjoy your pops because I sure miss mine! I came across a video of my dad on RUclips because we use to own a skate shop and it made me so happy a (few happy tears). Can’t wait for your next upload Mr. Dan!
Great job! I had a 2000 for a while. I'd love to get another one. I'm sure you already know, but make sure you have a couple pre-2000 cylinder heads on hand. 2000 and 2001 had weaker heads that would tend to crack and push coolant into the oil passages (ask me how I know). Pre-2000 heads are nearly indestructible.
Awesome! Can’t wait to see the results! I was able to drive mine yesterday for the first time in a couple months. I know it feels good to complete phases of a WIP.
Hey Dan! I've always wanted to add the overhead console on my 95 Bumble Jeep. Would the wiring be there in my 95? I have an unused plug on the right side of the engine bay, I now know is for the under hood light that isn't there. Will be doing the rear main seal on Bumble Jeep in the near future along with the filter adaptor and of course oil pan gasket. Fortunately for me I'm now lifted about 4.5" so the oil pan should come out without too much trouble. Thanks for the tour. Great stuff. God bless and stay well.
Question… have you ever had any of your XJs radio LCD screen stop working? If so, what do you recommend to remedy the issue? My radio turns on and plays music and all but the LCD screen doesn’t light up so I have no idea what radio station I’m on or what time it is without checking my phone.
I see it has the over head console, does the display have its own fuse? Mine intermittently works and every fuse I’ve found, I’ve replaced but still nothing, the lights work. Mine is a ‘92
What do you think about replacing the header panel from a ding that split the fiberglass and bumper? I saw on Amazon there was a header panel kit, but I thought I’d ask you first Dan! I’m not against a junkyard run and paint match it later
Why would you take such a clean and rust free XJ and paint it with bed liner. Maybe it's not as clean as it looks. That's another story. And apparently the Raptor / bed liner is something popular in the south /south east. But really, clean XJs are getting prettys hard to find. Why coat it in sandpaper paint. IMHO
Nice job Brother!! Tell your Dad I love his shirt 😂😂 Please spend as much time with him as possible, you never know what tomorrow will bring.
That awesome lost my dad 35 year ago still miss him he was my fishing buddy.

Yea, you can carefully disassemble the radio and replace the display.

Hey man I see you have alot of parts I been looking for a working window regulator for 2000 xj 2 door. Wouldn't happen to have any laying around?
Sorry man! I sold my 2 door regulators.. one time I modified a 2 door regulators and put a 4 door motor on it.. maybe you can get it to work.
