Not everything is always as it first appears, especially in Scandal and how Shonda writes. There are always stories going on within the stories and is part of the reason why they left Scandal open ended. Jake was and still is a good guy, but someone had to take the fall and keep Olivia out of prison. The fact that Jake doesn't harbor any ill will towards Olivia and that he isn't phased about going to prison and "losing" his freedom is an indication that Jake is still good and may have pulled of the biggest con within Scandal. Take comfort in that fact and in the fact there may be a spin-off in the near future and that Jake most probably will feature within it if they ever do go ahead with it.
