can somebody from pickpocketing countries explain to me why they do nothing to these people? no police surveillance in metros? no arrests? nothing?
@@maaaaaapI actually don't know, I think because it's very expensive to monitor these people or even find them properly on cams as sometimes they could be wearing heavy clothing or something that obstructs their face, very costly for the country but really all it needs is a few experienced officers (which I doubt a country is willing to give) for every metro station or tourist attraction
@@maaaaaap because police has more to lose than to win by stopping them. They can’t search them without a reason and even if they come to that they then can be violent. If they are arrested they are just going to see if their documents are all right, tell them they can’t steal and put them back on the street. Jails are overloaded, if you have a minor crime your sentence is going to be pardoned anyway and they often declare as penniless so they can’t event collect money from them.
Unfortunately this doesn’t happen just with pickpocketing, but also sometimes with minor robberies. In Italy gangs who assault houses are on a daily basis just because they know that even if they are going to be catch the stolen goods will be waiting for them after they serve a jailtime as quick as a fart, or directly being on home detention.

I am from China, and almost every person who travels to Europe knows that there are many pickpockets in Paris. It's common in our country for tourists to complain about losing things after returning from Europe。Thank you so much for your brave work in Paris! I travel with a minimalist wallet and my phone, both in the front pockets of my pants. Going to notice if someone is trying to put their hand there. If I need to carry more, put it in a locked backpack. Many cities will also have pay lockers or locker services for a small fee. So if you want to do some shopping or are tired of carrying a bag around, you can put it in one of those lockers and go about with your hands free, then pick up your stuff before heading back to a hotel.
The people doing the pickpocketing usually aren't Europeans and do not represent Europe. I hope people from China realise that.
