💜💜💜 These top-tips are a great reminder and it’s so nice that a professional like yourself would take the time and energy to help others with simple hints. Thank you!
I have an addendum to tip #2. When I have a group of things to fussy cut on one sheet of paper, I first cut all around the outside edge of the whole group. Now you have a chunk where a third to a half of each item is already cut out, and if you have to stop, you still have a solid piece of paper to store. I love to fussy cut!
I watched Gayle's tutorial when she actually called butterfly antenni "antlers!!!" 😂 Thank you for all the great information. I learned something new! 😊
Many of these I have heard and /or used but it’s always good to hear it again and be reminded! I do love your countdown cards! Not only attractive but a great way to keep us focused on the various ideas! Love to listen to your videos ❤
You are sooo very charismatic AND ANNOYINGLY pompous I cannot get enough of you! I love to watch and listen and learn! Do not worry if the video has been done before because yours will be BETTER! I guarantee it! No matter what else... you are a terrific crafter! Never stop MAKING your awesome videos! IN REAL TIME!!!!! TY #carrie !
Great tips and the use of tools and paper effectively. Thank You for making videos for new crafters and introducing other crafters videos and products. Enjoyed the tips on fussy cutting and using the correct tools.
All very good ideas. I do tend to prefer a non-serated edge on my pieces. I understand due to hand size that it's a better option for you. I prefer the smoother edge. It amazes me how so many of us lean towards the same artists. Love Gayle, Tracy Fox, etc. Just trying to get back into the swing of things since hubby passed - two years this August. Crafting has always helped me keep my sanity even more so now. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with so many.
Jeanette if it wasn’t for my creativity I wouldn’t have survived the past two years, in that period I’ve lost ten family members and friends. It certainly helps one cope.
Thanks Ceri for those lovely common-sense tips. They are truly great time-savers and like you, an A4 page was previously pushed to the bottom of the basket. And I love your number cards. With love and appreciation from Pat in Australia. Xx
Thank you so much for sharing your fussy cutting top tips Ceri! When I have days when I don’t have energy to craft I find it relaxing to sit and fussycut and organize the cuts in zip lock bags.
💡Fussy cutting can help you sort and organize. If you are in the middle of a project and you fussy cut as you go, you have a harder time auditioning. I find I am happier with my results when I can try on a few different pieces of ephemera as I decorate and make a decision that way. ⭐Great Video! ⭐Super helpful and wonderful reminders. Many thanks!✂❤❤❤
Thank you Julie, I’m the same I don’t even touch images unless they’re already fussy cut........with the exception of a new image catching my eye as I create.
Thank you, Ceri! I appreciate you taking the time to help beginners. This may sound silly, but it never occurred to me to use a guillotine to help with fussy cuts. That's just one of the things I took away from this video. You are a gem!
Thank you for your videos, you are very helpful to us crafters. Sometimes I cut out the antennas, but sometimes I remove them, and replace with black thread. Take a piece of thread, longer than needed, pinch it in two and glue the pinched area. When it’s almost dry, glue it to the back of the butterfly. Glue down the butterfly to your project, now trim the black thread to the desired length. I LOVE my Tim Holtz scissors! Having large arthritic knuckles, is a cutting challenge. With large finger holes, I no longer have to pull or shake scissors from my hands- very frustrating and time consuming…🤗👏
Quite nice and thoughtful. Sharing your experience makes my hobby more enjoyable. Helpful: Cutting daily, the permanent marker for the antennas, scissor v paper movement, and the scheduled clean out/up (I do that in all aspects of my life. So appreciate you taking the time and energy to give these tips.
You have the best tips I have been binge watching you channel trying to take in all you tips and tricks . And since you mention another of my fav crafters, I had to subscribe my channel is a working progress now but everyday because of the work you all do I'm learning so much.
As always, Ceri, you have great ideas! I do like to fussy cut and will be using your tips. Love your tips for the punches too. Very helpful and things that I had not thought of. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
You are a great teacher Ceri and so easy to listen to. I am playing catch up on your many videos and getting so many ideas. I have started making Journals thanks to you Ceri and am loving it.
This is a very helpful video. I love fussy cutting, have done it for years, but I learned a lot from you. Especially cutting them in smaller pieces to put them away to cut later. Also using the punches. Sometimes I just don't like the whole piece and it sits there forever. But punching out the pretty part and using that makes so much more sense. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
The first thing I noticed was your grasp of the scissors, with the index finger UNDER the blade! I’m wondering if this is how youngsters are taught to hold scissors in the UK? It is the best way to stabilize/control scissors but in the US, most people put the index finger in the hole. I learned about the appropriate grasp from an occupational therapist and have tried for years to “retrain” teachers so that they can teach their students! Applause to you Ceri!!!👏👏👏
I didn't notice how he held the scissors so I am going to try his way. Yes, I always put my index finger into the other hole. Thank you for pointing this out!.
I learned how to fussy cut when I did decoupage as a hobby. I used to use a scalpel to cut out white inside an image and I still do. ♥️ Thanks for the video and we do the same for 7
Love these tips Ceri! The one that stood out to me is the fussycutting that piles up so quickly. I’m overwhelmed right now because I got a few gorgeous magazines that I started to fussycut, but bought another before I got all the others magazines completely done. Now I’m overloaded with fussycutting! If I do some fussycutting daily then that will sure help me to keep up better. Thanks so much! ❤
Ceri, I love watching your videos! You are very detail oriented artist and easy to follow. Thank you for taking the time to show and help others with your keen inspiration. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Awesome tips! I always enjoy your videos. I'm going to have to borrow your countdown card idea😊 I got a tip I would like to share, and hopefully, it will make sense in text and be useful So imagine a picture of Superman with his fist on his hips cape flying, and you want to collage our superhero... the outside fussing cutting is quite easy, but you got those two spaces of background between the body and arms you want gone as well A craft knife is the best option, but you can do it with a pair of tiny scissors I cut that space out in two different ways In the first way, i will make the tiniest fold in the middle of the space you want to remove, then make a small snip. This will give you room to get your small scissor blades into that space... then carefully trim The second way and easiest way is to actually cut where the hand comes off the body so it's an even cut. You will have easy access to cut out the space you want to remove When you glue the figure onto the substrate you will fix it by carefully lining the hand back to the body wear it was cut and it would be hard press to tell that the hand was cut away from the body in the first place. I hope that makes sense
Thanks for sharing this Ceri. So many helpful tips! And you explained them so well! You’re an excellent teacher! I absolutely love your number cards, too! Have a great weekend!
Thank you Ceri. I like he idea of drawing in your own "antlers" on the butterfly 😊 Leaving the white border or not has been troubling me for ages 😀 Ty for releasing me. I've said it before, I love your teaching style ❤
As always, a video full of wonderful tips presented in an organized, clearly understandable way. Your preparation and organization makes your videos a pleasant and educational experience. Thank you! You work very hard on these and I appreciate your efforts.
Ceri, these are great tips. I picked up a couple of tips. Using paper punches, cutting things into smaller pieces & doing some each day. Thanks for all you do.
Well you really out did yourself on this one! Thank you for all the amazing and well presented tips in this video; I have learned so much from you. I continue to look forward to all you bring here on You Tube. By the way those countdown cards are fabulous!😊
I love your tips, Ceri, and I especially like the one where you said to cut off the excess as you're moving along. I see some crafters who leave it all attached and I wondered if that was the more "professional" way to fussy cut.😄 I like to get rid of the excess.
Thank you SO MUCH for the "beginner" info! Ive been paper crafting now since right before covid. I feel like I missed something along the way, or was in definite need of taking remedial kindergarten over again, specifically for fussy cutting! You have now cleared that up for me (all I have to do is remember), even though you've been doing these videos for years! ❤
I’m new thank you for taking the time to instruct on all of these things!!! I’m watching a bunch of them. A fan from across the pond who loves your accent too. !!!! Howdy!!!!
I love fussy cutting. Sometimes I’ll look for things to fussy cut rather than actually making the project. I was keeping my cuts in different storage size baggies. Just looked and found two empty shoeboxes. Well looks like I’ll be doing some sorting. Thanks for the tips and looking forward to seeing what you do in the collaboration. 😊
Fabulous tips, all of them, but I particularly liked your last tip and the bonus tip, I used to pile up my fussy cutting but now I do some every day and I back it to cardstock before I cut! ❤
I AM the newbie that you made this video for, I JUST heard of Tracy Fox today (sorry if I spelled the name wrong) and Tim Holtz 😲! I just started my journey into this hobby about 2 months ago and loving it. I keep hearing the term 'fussy cutting' and had No Idea what that meant (although I had an idea and I was right). The aesthetics, the way you did your numbers (Wow! 😍), just Everything, especially all your amazing tips for the newbies like moi. Thank you so much for making this video for those like us.
I just LOVE your videos, Ceri~ #7 is pretty difficult for me, the intricate cutting. I am a big fan of your bonus tip. Actually, your voice is worth the price of admission. You guys across the pond are just awesome. I find your voices to be very soothing. Have a glorious day, Ceri! Betty :)
Ceri, best video on fussy cutting I've seen, by far. Wow! Very helpful! Thank you! I'd also love to see how you store your cuts when done. TFS. From Cheryl in AZ
Thank you. I think the last tip about a digital used for journal cards being glued down as one piece, and then cut out is a big time saver. Once to glue, once to cut is more rewarding than doing each one multiple steps. We want art to feel like sitting down to a delicious dinner, not like washing up the dishes.
Today is cleaning day 🤦🏻♀️ so I have Ceri on the t.v. high volume and getting it done! I need my Ceri fix!! 😂🤗📚✂️📝🥇
I hope everyone has a great day❣️
Thank you Debbie.
Ceri, I love your number cards. What a unique idea for your countdown.
Thank you Kim

Podcasts , listenbooks and fussycutting is such a relaxing combo
Sounds perfect Wilma.

Fabulous
Thank you so much for your helpful hints on fussy cutting😊
You’re welcome
Thank you for the fussy cuttings tips today. ❤

All very good ideas. I do tend to prefer a non-serated edge on my pieces. I understand due to hand size that it's a better option for you. I prefer the smoother edge. It certainly does help.
Sending a gentle hug across the miles to you both 💙
Thanks Ceri for those lovely common-sense tips. They are truly great time-savers and like you, an A4 page was previously pushed to the bottom of the basket. And I love your number cards. With love and appreciation from Pat in Australia. Xx
Thank you Pat
Thank you so much for sharing your fussy cutting top tips Ceri!
When I have days when I don’t have energy to craft I find it relaxing to sit and fussycut and organize the cuts in zip lock bags.
Anne thats so true of many of us, we just sit and do simple tasks to refuel our batteries.
Thanks for the tips. I love your videos.
Thank you Felicia

Ceri, wonderful information. I'm new to fussy cutting and love how you use the punches.

Thank you for your tips. Your videos are always so enjoyable. I am not a great lover of fussy cutting but I have to do it.
Unfortunately we all have to fussy cut or pay for someone else’s time fussy cutting.
Ceri, I love watching your videos! You are very detail oriented artist and easy to follow. Thank you for taking the time to show and help others with your keen inspiration. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Awesome tips! I always enjoy your videos.
I'm going to have to borrow your countdown card idea😊
I got a tip I would like to share, and hopefully, it will make sense in text and be useful
So imagine a picture of Superman with his fist on his hips cape flying, and you want to collage our superhero... the outside fussing cutting is quite easy, but you got those two spaces of background between the body and arms you want gone as well
A craft knife is the best option, but you can do it with a pair of tiny scissors

Totally! Great tip!
Thank you I've seen Gayle do the four cut method and I learnt the cut where there's a join method from Dyan Reaveley, you're in very good company.
As I am still a beginner I found these tips extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing!
Great news. Thank you.

Denise I always say do what suits you best and for me the excess just gets in the way

Hi Ceri! I love your countdown cards. I've probably said that before but they are so wonderful! I cannot think if anything I would add to your list!❤
Thank you Laura
Fabulous tips, all of them, but I particularly liked your last tip and the bonus tip, I used to pile up my fussy cutting but now I do some every day and I back it to cardstock before I cut! ❤
Hope it’s helping.
Thanks, great tips!! Looking forward to fussy cutting!!
Have fun.
Good advice thx. I usually fussy cut in the evening while watching a series.
Good time to do it if you’ve got good lighting.

Thoughtful and time-saving. Thanks!

Thank you ever so much for these tips! I am horrible at fussy cutting so that punch idea is great for me.
Wonderful
I AM the newbie that you made this video for, I JUST heard of Tracy Fox today (sorry if I spelled the name wrong) and Tim Holtz 😲! I just started my journey into this hobby about 2 months ago and loving it. I keep hearing the term 'fussy cutting' and had No Idea what that meant (although I had an idea and I was right). Jennie it’s starts my day and keeps the fussy cutting down.
Betty :)

Thank you. I think the last tip about a digital used for journal cards being glued down as one piece, and then cut out is a big time saver. Once to glue, once to cut is more rewarding than doing each one multiple steps. We want art to feel like sitting down to a delicious dinner, not like washing up the dishes.
Absolutely
Great tips! Thanks for sharing these ideas. I have always avoided fussy cutting, but these make it seem much less daunting. ;)
The secret is to do a little each day and often therefore it doesn't get overwhelming
