You'd love it! It has a surprising low seating position. It feels a lot more comfortable, and somehow makes it much easier to ride than most other "sport" bikes
The red framed gladius looks great! I have the black one. You say it red lines at 10k. Should I not rev my gladius into the 11-12K rpm mark into the red?
@motorcycleluke hey thanks man, I have been avoiding redline now and I think it feels much better. The bike just likes to kick itself into the red so fast I thought it liked it!
Good review, Gladius is one of the bikes I'm considering for myself. Now, I'm 5'5 tall so most sport/street bikes are too tall for me, what kind of bikes could I also possibly look for(except cruisers)? So far I've found this and Yamaha xj6, which I passed my test on, but there ought to be more lowish-seat nakeds out there.
I came back: After 20 years. no.1 for beginers - smoothly and nice feeling of the power V2-650 +skilled, dexterous, naked ....2V-650 +............................... +economic, if you want +nice sound+2Vpower - backward feeling, no adjusted suspension ....+ snake frame steel - antihop clutch for 2V beginners ....maybe - fuel/range display Riders under 180cm, should be happy....
hey very nice review. I'm a beginner and looking for a bike. First I looked at the er6n but it appears to be too small for me. I'm about 6 feet tall, would this bike be too small for me?
@ethicz The Gladius is a twin, so it naturally has a lot more low down grunt, but even though this is a great ride, Id say the Kwakker and the Hornet have a much more powerful sporty feel to them! Ive just ridden the Z750R, it was lush, you do have to get the revs up to make it scream ad go like mad, but still nice and smooth low down! Im just about to review the CBR600F, and I'll post the vid in a week or so bro, maybe that might be your thing?
@chaseybears Hey bro!! Its very different, more torque and feels more nimble, Ive got a few days left on it this week - so will post more when Ive ridden it!
Im still torn between this the 2008 honda cb600f hornet and the kawasaki z750, all bikes have similar specs, around the same price and similar insurace bands...which would you say has smoothest power? so it pulls from lower down in the revs so you dont have to rev the nuts off it to get anywhere...just looking as im moving up from my 2009 kawasaki ninja 250r and found that i really had to rev that high Any input given would be highly appreciated thanks
hahaha.. im not new to liter bikes!! i still got yamaha r1 with me.. im still trying to get use to the handling on the 1198.. but my friend is thinking of getting the gladius.. thou i might just have the chance to ride a gladius soon. :)
Hey, between the Bandit and the Gladius, which would you recommend based on confort, power, smoothness, fuel consumpion and overall looks and feel? Thanks in advance
Im 5 foot nothing (female) will this lower enough for me? 27inch inside leg. ive been told this one is nice and light as well. Im really struggling getting a bike that my feet arent dangling on lol.
@motorcycleluke I'm not from english origin so I don't understand your sentence completely. Are you saying that any naked bike would fit me? I'm 185 centimeter so I don't really know how much feet that is.
Don't lower any bike ever, it ruins the carefully worked out geometry of any bike. In time you will gain confidence to cope with reaching the ground at a stop.
hi there, lm looking for my first bike and honestly i dont know what to look for, i would greatly appreciate your help, im 6'2 and i dont want anything to small, i was referred to a suzuki GS500 and a Kawasaki er6nl abs, if there is anything you would suggest as a first bike i would greatly appreciate you help! thank you and awesome videos!!
what's faster 0-60 a sfv or sv? I'm torn between the two!! i have a lot of riding experience but not on the road so im looking for a fast 1st bike but on that is small as i am only 5'5
@lovenamese Oh my god no dude!!! For a start the power band drops off quite abit before you red line (say 10k) , and the reason the red sections are there, is if you go into to much you buger the engine man!! Ride safe bro!
i'm immensely jealous of this color scheme.... we here in the States get CRAP for color choices : / if this bad boy was available here, i'd buy it tomorrow - literally
@ikkeennigij121 Yeah mate, pretty much buddy! Its only sports bikes that really mean you get cramped! im 190 cm! You would be fine, an upright bike is what you need!
This bike has three levels set by suzuki. It comes set at highest level. Suzuki lowered it for me to the lowest level. It's not a confidence issue I passed my test in the late 80's It's a safety issue. I bought it a year ago now. I'm five foot and 7 and a half stone it makes buying a big bike difficult. Not to worry though the geometry of this bike is set for three levels :o)
is this some kawasaki ER6-n, ducati monster and yamaha FZ6-n mutant hybrid? btw too much copypaste from suzuki, the new bikes look like kawasaki, the older gsr 600 models looked like yamaha, this one is rather an ER6-n, suzuki, be more original, unless other manufacturers stole the ideas from your prototype...
your comments about the differences between twin & inline 4 engines is very useful. Good review
You'd love it! It has a surprising low seating position. It feels a lot more comfortable, and somehow makes it much easier to ride than most other "sport" bikes
Very nice vid! Rode this today for the first time in my driving lessons, awesome bike.
Finally a man that can speak the Queen's English, and properly. The Gladius does strongly resemble a Ducati, hopefully more reliable than such.
wow, it's a fantastic bike!
next year I will buy it. It will be my first bike!
I'm so excited :)
The red framed gladius looks great! I have the black one.

Wow. BEST review I've watched on RUclips.

Which would you recommend the GSR 600, 600 Bandit or this? Or any other 600ish starter bike.
hey very nice review.
I'm a beginner and looking for a bike.

Gladius or bandit

i just saw one at the mall today.. im going back to check it out again.
i'm immensely jealous of this color scheme.... we here in the States get CRAP for color choices : / if this bad boy was available here, i'd buy it tomorrow - literally
Hi Luke. Aren't you a little cramped on this bike?
fz8 or gladius 650, Which is the better everyday bike?
Nice bike, but I don't want one, but I do want an SV 650, why?
a gladius is a sv650....
Damian Wightman gladius is the SFV650 not quiet the SV
how does it compare to the SV650?
Cool bike, and I like your reviews, but you should find a way to make your voice clearer and eliminate the wind noise.
you're on a testing frenzy right now - are you? :D
i heard you're 6.3 ft. how does the size work for you?
Good stuff..
is this bike good for me im 5''7 in height..
@ikkeennigij121 Yeah mate, pretty much buddy! Its only sports bikes that really mean you get cramped! im 190 cm! You would be fine, an upright bike is what you need!

I like the 2003-2009 sv650 looks a lot more. This looks way too lumpy to me.
@motorcycleluke ok thanks mate
Again nice video keep it up!

@menormice2 Never ridden one restricted, but should be cool mate, keep all the torque, just lose the top end power!
@andygruel Cheers mum ;-)
what top speed ??? bye .
hot damn that is a sexy bike
sad to tell you this i bought a ducati 1198 just a week ago
@ikkeennigij121 Man, any naked bike shouldnt be too small! Im 6 foot 3 bro!! Look at er6, gladius, or sv 650 if you want a twin, or even monster 696!
While walking round the bike, Luke seriously needs to sort out his knees squeaking. Get some knee oil or something man, seriously :P
You are driving on the wrong side :)
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

IT IS NOT worth the price. the bike slows down in heat. quite a bad technology.i bought one and got rid of in 3 months. go for Kawasaki KLR 650
135
Those mirrors looks like they came from the 60s, way to cheap out Suzuki !
just that exhaust looks bad
can you talk any faster? ;p lol
you need to get a better mic
You for real? Suzuki new to naked bikes? That's garbage
Speak English!
