Thank you everyone for all of the birthday wishes under my last post! 😊 And sorry again for being so inconsistent lately! 🙏 I'm in my last days of writing my bachelor thesis and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to upload every week until I'm done presenting it at the end of march... BUT I'm trying my best and I'm looking forward to the time after where I have some exciting things planned! Thank you all so much for watching and sticking with me! 😊
WOW for someone that has no experience doing the van build, Lena this is looking good. I know you get that great feeling when you do something that came out well, don’t you? I wish you the best of luck with your van.👍
Awesome job. You did it well.. But I just want to let you know; the crack happen because your screw is closer to the edge, the addition of the screw to the piece creates force that could crack the wood. I saw it happen a lot. If you want to insert a screw in a small piece of wood, or near the edge of a piece of wood, drill a pilot hole first. Pilot holes remove the excess wood before the screw is inserted, so that when the screw enters the wood, there’s space for it. This makes the wood less likely to crack. This makes it easier to drive the screw into the wood. Because of this, screws in pilot holes are often neater than those driven with brute force. And one more thing it is easier and more neater if you just use wood filler from the store, is just cost couple of buck.
You're a sweetheart. A brad or finish nailer would have been much better than all the screws. Nice work though. Very pleasant to watch and listen. Keep it up.
The contrast between the dark and light wood is something I would not have thought would work but I think it looks amazing. Well done the van build is really coming along. Stay strong...
Lenja - Can you please show the details of how things are made? I'd like to see how you wired the electrics instead of you explaining after the fact, or how you created the window frame, or assembled and built the cabinet? That would be very helpful. Keep up the good videos!
Lenja, the van is looking awesome so far! Can't wait to see the final stage, I'm SOOOOO looking forward to it even though I really enjoy watching this process. You're doing an awesome job, but you know that already! Love from Argentina
I little trick to getting deep stain color into wood is to dampen it a little with water before applying the stain . This allows the pores in the wood to expand a little and the stain to penetrate a little deeper . Try it on some scrap material to see if you like the results .
It's weird to see someone else going through an almost identical phase of life as me, our sprinters and learn as you go building styles are so similar. I think it's weird because I even have the same colour power tools haha Hello from Australia.
I really liked your solar panels. Its looks like 100 percent good enough for your lights, refrigerator, and heating system. What kind of refrigerator do you want to use? People are using 12-volt compressor one, that's the best so fare or same one converting compressor from 220 volts to 12 volts. Convert one is cheaper than the direct fabrication refrigerator.3 system it is very old nowadays Regards and stay safe..
@@lifeoflenja390 I'm doing my build also. 2 years now. What I have learned..Everything takes 2-3 times longer than you thought and you have to do things over and over again to get them right. What fuel source? Electricity?
Hey, thanks! I actually filmed all this in summer but I'm only releasing the vidoes now because it takes me such a long time to edit them! 🙈 Thanks for watching!
As someone that has worked with timber for a fair chunk of my life I did on occasion go without a mask when sanding the timber. Please remember to use a mask as it will affect your lungs. Nice contrasting colour that you used there. Also the diagonals are a nice touch. I will be avoiding spray foam in my rebuild. I think that you end up wasting so much and then you have the mini environmental issue when discarding the waste.
Hi really like the colour match of the window surround and kitchen top, nice touch and your doing a brillant job. Happy birthday for when it was. How came its alway sunny ? Greeting from England.
Hi Lenja Now I'm not here to teach you how to spell, "Install" instead of "Istall" lol In your first title. But you did a nice job making the window frame and trim, and hardly got any mess with that can of foam, very impressed, because using that stuff ca be a messy job. Mmm Notch or groove? Groove, lol. You've done a great job on that counter. Just a thought, is the stain a waterproof one? Just read above, you're doing your thesis, Lenja, YT videos can wait, and I'm sure people would understand thats far more important for you.
Just found your channel, love the van build - I know you've already probably done your van since this was in the summer, but are you staining all your van that dark colour?
Hey, thank you so much! 😊 I'm actually not done with everything yet and hope to be able to work on the last bits and pieces again soon! Only the horizontal surfaces and some details are going to be this dark, the rest will be with slightly white-ish color the walls have.

@@marcbruneel1858 thank you so much for your support and understanding 💪
I was smiling n happy when you placed that sink. Satisfying. Good build 👍
Nice work and I am impressed with your ability to show your mistakes and then to adapt and overcome. I give all your videos a thumbs up.
Very nice result ! Keep going
Fantastic job. That was quite an awkward and scary job and done so well. Looks great :)
Coming along very nice great job
It's all coming together, keep it up and you will be enjoying your new home with all the mistakes just a memory's.
Thank you! That sounds like a great way of thinking, I'll try to adopt it :)
Pretty impressive!

Thank you so much! :) Yes, I'm defenitely proud of that part of the build and I like a good challenge 😁
Nice work. The van is coming together nicely. Look forward to your next video.

A belated Happy Birthday to you young lady! Your project is coming along swimmingly.

Sieht ja schon richtig wohnlich aus. Dann bin ich mal auf die nächste Folge gespannt.
Wow, looks brilliant. Your workmanship is great, this is going to be a great build.
You're a sweetheart. A brad or finish nailer would have been much better than all the screws. Nice work though. Very pleasant to watch and listen. Keep it up.
Thank you! :) And thanks for the recommendation with nailing it. You're probably right, I just got too comfortable with using screws for everything

Thank you so much! 😊 I'll do my best 💪
Hi lenja seat box ..nice touch with diagonal ..kitchen top fits like it grew there ..goes nice with window surrounds. Looking good keep going girl
very nice countertop. looks awesome

Thank you! 💪
I always loved "Made in Germany"

The window frame and trim look great! Nice job on the countertop and excellent choice to go for a big sink 😀👍
Thank you! Yes, absolutely zero regrets with the big sink so far! 👌
Absolutely gorgeous countertop! Well done!
Thanks Marco! 😊

Aw thank you so much Ana! 😊Your excitement is contagious and I can't wait to share the finished van with you!!!

Van is coming along nicely !
Thank you! 💪
Happy Birthday by the way....xxxx

Lenja! You totally just gave me ideas for how I want my van. That came out so nice!
That's great! I'm super happy if you can draw inspiration from the build!! Thanks for letting me know :)
That is a great job Lenja, the bit you cut out for the sink would make a great chopping board.
Thanks! I actually kept it and I'm thinking about using it as a lid/chopping board 👌

Satisfying progress to watch, keep going Lenja! :)
Thanks! Glad to hear it was :)
You'll be cooking with gas soon! Great job and remember to pre-drill your timber especially right at the ends where it will split!
Yes 💪 but I'll try a different fuel though ;) you're absolutely right, being lazy there has proved to cost me MUCH more time!

'Kick back' from table saws can be very dangerous. Stay safe 🚑🏥 ☺ 💚
Yup 😨 I guess that wood was a little to light for the saw... Thanks, I'm extra careful now (and paranoid also...)
Excellent !!
Nice. Still wondering how there's a sunny Germany in winter but who cares 😀 Thanks for the update.

Going better. 👍
Not a notch. Groove, or better a slot.
Nice video Lenja!!I would also like a big sink.
Thanks! It takes up a lot of space but it's great!
😁👍
Oops...missed your birthday 🎁 🎂 .....belated best wishes! Good luck with your thesis😖 oh and the counter top looks awesome👍
Thanks, I appreachiate it! 😊💪
This time I'll use woodprix to make it by my hand :)

That makes absolute sense and I hadn't thought about it! Thank you for sharing that insight, I'll make sure to use one next time!
It looks like very good. Nice job Lenja. Birthday ? Congratulations from Germany. Greetings from Germany. Andi
