quite a funny take on hillsong, i can understand why people would think this is the attitude of the church. the reality is, seings as people are so keen on reality, that Hillsong is a massive global church with hundreds of smaller plants and so it actually needs quite a lot of money to be able to support itself as well as to run missions and charity events. Also Brain Huston praised the pope JP2 for doing great evangelism job around the world!!!! im a christian and i love the chasers war on everything and this song is awesome my parents love hillsong probly because they make 'good' music (good meaning most christians who listen to it because they dont know what music is. its pretty much a christian lady gaga or whoever is top of the charts now) ive been forced to go to a few of the anual week long conferences they do and this is actualy very close. so sad that the chasers have stopped what a waste of tax payers money ;)

The problem is not that Hillsong collects an offering. Paul tells us that we should each give to our church, and that churches should give money to each other "so that there might be equality." The problem is that Hillsong selectively teaches Old Covenant law (law which Paul and the early church agreed does not apply to gentiles) and distorts Jesus' teachings and the Pauline epistles to support their cash flow.

I must say Hillsong is a great example of how large numbers don't make sense to most people. You've got 30,000+ people every week. Even if we just go by what your average church member gives in every other church around the country, something like half of the 10% they're meant to give of their income... Actually let's go stingy: $10 each. 10 X 30000 = $300 000+ EVERY week. Hillsong don't need to beg; large numbers do the work.

I'm a christian and sing alot of hillsongs stuff. However, did you know that nearly all Australians regard Hillsongs as either evil or if it feels good go there. The problem is as christians we have to radically change how the church communicates to the population in a 1st world nation. I like the song and sing it. Its a kind of "wake-up church song" and quit performance christianity - love sacrifice death suffering are the hallmarks of faith in Christ

Hillsong bring this all on themselves. If they put all those millions into helping people, nobody would be able to criticize them. I have no doubt that if every penny of their millions was focused on 'Blessing', they would be a shining example to the world. But only a small percentage really does!!Why is it blasphemy to hold someone to account?Hillsong's millions could do so much good!!

YAY!!! This is what the god-fearing hillsong performers and their priests say! When they drive around in their Porsches and sleep in their multi-million dollar beachfront mansions they know god gave it all to them - and by the same logic all the poor, abused and dying are in their situation because they did bad things so god is punishing them. I guess there is Karma in Christianity.
Our God is a God of provision. He loves to bless his children, and in abundance. Not only are you criticizing Hillsong, but you are criticizing God himself. You have no idea what Hillsong has done for 3rd world countries and the help that their message of HOPE has caused all around the world. God is merciful, seek Him, know His truth, and the truth will set you free!
I must say Hillsong is a great example of how large numbers don't make sense to most people. You've got 30,000+ people every week. Even if we just go by what your average church member gives in every other church around the country, something like half of the 10% they're meant to give of their income... Actually let's go stingy: $10 each. 10 X 30000 = $300 000+ EVERY week. Hillsong don't need to beg; large numbers do the work.

I don't think there's anything wrong at all with this song. it's good to take the piss from yourself and your "relegion" from time to time. God's a big boy...he can handle it....and saying 'crazy bi tches" isn't so bad...come on now...he makes a good point in the song. I truly think there's a time and place for stuff like this...good on them. And Jesus..you know Jesus would ./ did have a good sense of humor. it's okay Axemurder..honest.

Yes, I agree that some of their principles are off and some of their actions need to be revisited and reforned, but at the end of the day who are we to judge. LET GOD BE THE JUDGE OF CHASERS AND HILLSONG> It's not out place.
But as a fellow Christian this is so saddening. They shouldn't mock what they know nothing about!
I'm a christian and sing alot of hillsongs stuff. However, did you know that nearly all Australians regard Hillsongs as either evil or if it feels good go there. The problem is as christians we have to radically change how the church communicates to the population in a 1st world nation. I like the song and sing it. Its a kind of "wake-up church song" and quit performance christianity - love sacrifice death suffering are the hallmarks of faith in Christ

You wanna tell me I don't know what freedom of speech means. I spent 8 months in Nam, almost losy my leg, came home with a habit, got strait with no help from Chezzus. I then spent 23 years in AIM (The American Indian Movement) fighting fo free speech and a bunch of other rights that to this day "some ppl R still trying to block.
I dare any man to say to me that I don't know the value of free speech!
@sarahbelle988 The band is not the actual church, they might be ok people, doesn't change the fact they came from a word faith/ prosperity gospel megachurch that preaches heresy.
And Hillsong United is still contemporary fluff, regardless of how humble they may be.
