Your ould lad moves fairly lively 😂😂😂 BTW we don’t put the pipe in the bulk tank until the water is pushed out of the pipeline first otherwise you will water down your solids.
That is one thing I miss from when I worked on a fishing boat the morning sky's and the piece and quiet with just the birds as background sound, but since I had to stop fishing not often I am awake between 3am and 4am these days
Make the most of dad my father used to do all the getting cows in move the fence scraping feed the calves while I was milking didn't realise how much he did until he stopped but he was 80 by then
Thanks for that Dan, very informative. Looks like the variable pump system could be in short time saving you 1k per annum. Also it might give you a few extra points towards any Goverment green grant.
Never seen a tail trimming device Dan, I've been out of farming a long time but back then I just used tuff cut scissors, quite a slow job. The variable vacuum pump looks good and probably less stress on the motor, great that you can keep the old one piped in to the system as backup.
As an arable farmer that was very intereting had a little to do with milking when i was about 7 yrs old, up here in nth lincs only know of 2 dairy farms.
Good video Dan 👍 apart from the new pump your routine was pretty similar to what I was used to 🤔 does the hot water from the cooler get used again after further heating for the wash cycle 🤔👍

How big is the parlour Dan? How long does it take to milk and wash down?
Do you have a stand-by generator to cover power cuts ?
Best part of milking - second breakfast

What time do you start in the morning? Been starting early here for lambing the last three weeks, it's finished by the time I'm used to starting early
