You definitely play kingdom hearts, two after chain of memories, I mean, why wouldn’t you? I mean the events of this game were explaining what you go through in kingdom hearts 2 That much was clear to me and I don’t remember that much about the second game but I know it’s basically what happens as a direct result of this chain of memories fiasco The other ones are definitely gonna confuse you anyway
Chain of Memories is a wild experience, lol! It's so much more complex story-wise than the first game. I get that a lot of people didn't like the card system for it. But honestly, I appreciated it quite a bit. It was very different from anything else, and STILL is. It blew my mind that they ended up doing this full scale remake for it. Not sure if there were any other GameBoy Advance games that got a full-on remake like this game did.
And now you’re ready to begin playing Kingdom Hearts 2! Thank you for taking the time to watch these cutscenes to keep up with the story. I’m looking forward to your playthrough of Kingdom Hearts 2!
I think this is the best story in the Kingdom Hearts series and you may find yourself appreciating it more and more over and over again as you progress. Especially if you really get deep into the heavy lore,
Oh my God, Marluxia was totally the inspiration for Lightning Faron, and Snow (FF 13 I know I’m not the only one that sees it. It’s so damn obvious.) the hair, the color of his hair, the rose petals! Come on..
The Heartless' colour pallates are from the pre-Final Mix versions. People complained about the PS2 soundtrack, that they didn't even use the first game's remastered music. Both details could be taken as a story choice. Namine is recreating the original adventure on the villains' behalf, only for these crack to appear. The final boss's third phase was only in the remake. Lord of the Castle being the only song to recieve a remaster is because Sora is going off script at this point. This is another translation issue, but a more understandable one. Namine refers to the promise child with a specific pronoun in the original script, and doesn't react when Sora assumes she means Kairi. That pronoun (aitsu) is the last thing Sora says to Riku in this game, indicating that he is the most special person. I have seen people say that Mickey couldn't possibly be the voice that spoke in the first game's prologue and to Riku, because he's "never shown that ability before!" They clearly hadn't played this game, which has Mickey use telepathy. Wayne Allwine was sadly succumbing to Cancer at this point, which is why Mickey sounds off. This game was packaged with the rerelease of Kingdom Hearts II, hence that game's full title of Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix +.
Its been very nice reliving the KH series through your reactions, I very much appreciate you giving the series a go, its been a blast so far! With all that i would request is that you give a go back to KH1 and take a chance to battle the secret super boss in Hollow Bastion. This boss, from a series of bosses in the franchise you'll find in future games are like teasers to what is in store for the next game you play! They really hit you with that event when it comes full circle in the next game. I hope you'll experience it before you start KH2, which is the next game you must play. You may hear 358/2 should be next but it was released after KH2 but prequel to it, and you should definitely play by release order to fully appreciate the passion the creators gave to tease next games. Keep it up Jade! Btw, if you're still unsure to go back and play the secret boss in KH1, then I'll let the likes the others will leave in this comment to decide if that helps. I'll be fine with whichever decision you make next!
Do KH2 and then Days. Days happens next chronologically but KH2 not only was released first but it 'plants the intrigue' for Days to be played next. Playing Days before 2 is more of a thing to do if you've experienced both before already. I personally don't recommend it for new players as someone who has recently caught up.
Oh my gosh “thank Namine”. Aww so is the fake Riku still around in kingdom hearts2 *GASP* I wonder what I actually understood from that game now if he is a factor😳 i’m excited now
Even though Kingdom hearts 358/2 days takes places before kh2, you definitely need to play kh2 first then watch the 358/2 days movie. Because 358/2 days contains many spoilers that ruins Kh2's story! Basically play the games in release order, not chronological order. Basically: 01. KH1 02. Re: Chain of Memories 03. KH2 04. 358/2 Days 05. Birth by Sleep 06. Re: Coded 07. Dream Drop Distance 08. X Back Cover 09. 0.2 Birth by Sleep 10. KH3+Re:Mind DLC 11. Melody of Memory
Rewatching these cutscenes does make me appreciate the original GBA script, gotta be honest. Without the constraints of having to try to match lip flaps in a dub, and limit dialogue because of voice acting, the script feels clever and witty and flowing, and of course doesn't have to deal with weird random pauses in lines. Plus Axel gets to say hell and call Zexion Zexy. Fun times. That said I'll never forgive Square for recasting Billy Zane's Ansem. Can see your brain already breaking. No choice but to get used to it lol. KH2 is next, yes. Chronologically released after CoM, and watching Days first instead will spoil a lot of the mystery of KH2.
If you want to maximize the mystery of the story play kh2 next, if you want the story to make the most sense and be able to understand everything sooner play 358/2 days. My personal recommendation is to play kh 2 first, especially if you want the closest experience to the story as the games were released. But of course the final decision is up to you
Really enjoying this series, Jade! Loved how you called the "you just stink" line haha Kingdom Hearts II is best to play next, then watch the 358/2 Days (HD remastered cinematics). Days takes place between 1 and 2, but will spoil 2 if you watch it first.
When you play through Riku’s story, it’s a lot more streamlined when it comes to his card battle system. But he has unique gameplay style from Sora with his own combat gimmicks. It’s really cool to play as Riku for the first time through this game. This also begins Riku’s redemption arc. His character development growth is SO good. It is very important to see how his story continues, and where he ends up. Especially leading into KH2. Glad they even shown the aftermath end credit cutscenes! At this point hopefully maybe you get through 358/2 Days. At least now you are MUCH more prepare or can hype yourself for KH2!
Now that you've seen chain of memories there's one more thing to watch before KH2, the video 358/2 it's in the menu. Once you watch it you'll be ok to play
358/2 spoils so much of KH2. I don't know why people keep recommending new players to play it in that order. Tetsuya Nomura even recommends playing the series in release order
Welcome! 💜

...not exactly 😂

I don’t think it’s more complex it’s just there to fill in plot holes left behind by the first game and otherwise would be by the second game❤
For these games it's best to play them in release order.
kH2 next then 358/2 cinematic, then Birth By sleep then recoded cinematic
Yeah, it's wild to me to this day how many people say to play/watch 358/2 Days first. Spoiling basically every major plot point of KH2 0.o
Not sure if anyone mentioned here, but Riku's weapon from this game forward is named Road To The Dawn
And now you’re ready to begin playing Kingdom Hearts 2!
Thank you for taking the time to watch these cutscenes to keep up with the story. I’m looking forward to your playthrough of Kingdom Hearts 2!
Aww, thank YOU for joining me on this adventure! I’m so grateful to have you along for the ride!!

I think 358/2 Days is better played after 2.
@@Xeno_Solarus I wouldn’t mind if she did. It wouldn’t hurt her to skip Days for now.
Can't wait for KH2!
I’m hhyyyyyypppeeeddddd
Totally play KH2 next. According to release date order. IMO thats the best experience
I never played chain of memories so its going to be interesting to see your reactions to KH2 when relevant content comes up
Oh that’s awesome! I hope you’ll enjoy seeing my reaction with having this perspective!!
Forsure Kingdom Hearts 2 is next. I can't wait!! Also definitely play them in order of release.
Bring in KH 2!!!!! 🫡🙌
Excited for KH2 next! Days should come after, followed by Birth by Sleep
I see you enjoyed that Chain of Memories adventure Jade. Next up is KINGDOM HEARTS 2!!!

@@JadeJoob Can't wait!!!😉😁👍🏿
If you do not mind me asking jade what was your favourite part of the game which story 😊🤔
Hi Jade hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤

Kh2 is next
You are so beautiful Jade love ya
Now that you've seen chain of memories there's one more thing to watch before KH2, the video 358/2 it's in the menu. Once you watch it you'll be ok to play
NO! Do NOT WATCH DAYS BEFORE KH2!!!!
Why would you say that? It’s so much better to watch 358/2 Days AFTER playing KH2!
Imo watching 358/2 before kh2 kind of ruins the mystery in kh2
