For anyone still struggling here are explainations for the takeoff manuver shown in an appropriate order. W - move forward (on ground) Shift - sprint (on ground) Space bar - Jump (on ground) F - toggle flight (transition to flight controls) Flight controls v S - pitch up W - pitch down A - roll left D - roll right Shift - accelerate Space bar - air brake (slow down) F - toggle flight (since you are already in flight this puts you into walking mode again and acts as "landing gear") Hope this helped as I found it hard to fly at first until someone explained to me why i was pressing all these buttons! :)
I loved practicing flight when I started playing DoD. Especially the nose-diving part over the lake, only to pull upwards just in time to not go for a swim :) very satisfying

I swapped my s and w flight controls because I couldn’t move my fingers fast enough and ended up diving into the ground every time, it’s helped me a lot and is more comfortable for me when flying and fighting while flying
I am actually looking forward to this a lot, I love how, in game , music starts playing once you go above the clouds and I want to know how to stay up there as much as possible :3 , it is so serene

great video as always! to add to how you can take off, you can also do the exact same thing you described but instead of holding space bar after the jump, you can just jump and then when you are high enough into the air you can press f to start flying. Thats how i have taken off all the time ^^
I've always had some personal rivalry with the flight mechanics in Legacy, but with these tips and new flight abilities, I'm sure the experience will be improved
I didn't know that about the second wind bar not replenishing your stamina if you have any stam decay, definitely good to be aware of! Second wind has come in very handy in exploring the map at great height lol

Honestly such a unique feature. I like it a lot! I saw a lot of people worried it'll be abused in PVP but I feel like it needs you to be at such a high altitude but it's barely noticeable unless you're going for the clouds.
I was thinking "this video will be great for new players" however the flight stamina mechanics seem different than I remember.. so this will be helpful for old player just coming back to the game! can't wait to jump back into this tomorrow!

Many people find it that way. I'm way too used to flight Sims in my younger days.

Yup, it might give PvPers a little boost who know how to use it, but it will also punish those that just hold shift and dont pay attention
