The Mason Dixon line is where the south begins, the upper south is called Dixieland. Maryland is indeed in the south. Culture wise, like many states its heritage and culture has been diluted over the years. Baltimore was one of the biggest cities in the south at the time of the War of Northern aggression. Southern Maryland, the east eastern shore and parts of western Maryland you will see very southern culture, food and politics.
@@SouthernGentleman Consider doing more current and historic research. Maryland has been and always will be southern. Baltimore city, which is beyond disgusting now should be abandoned but the rest of the state shows very southern culture like NC and VA. By the way, the 2nd Maryland Confederate monument at Gettysburg, on Culps Hill was the first Confederate monument on the entire battlefield.
The South and love of Maryland
