Just checking in on the internet from the gulf south. Not sure how my wife found y'all but boy howdy I'm glad she did. We have a young church, around 6 years old. A very fine young pastor who is full of the Holy Ghost. I've had some health problems over the last 3 months that have caused me to examine myself. I needed the sermon.

Of a truth, there is a remnant of Preachers ready to address sin without painting it with kids gloves. Sin is cancerous and should be treated as such, and exposed in its evil with all seriousness and trust in God's Grace and Mercy.

Don’t think sin in a church will not spread I’m a eyewitness and got caught up in it started with the pastor to the youth pastor to the sound mans wife to the young people in the choir and then he saints. Knock knock came at the door who is it I asked oh just a little sin so I opened the door and all hell came in

We need to settle the "test yourselves" passage once and for all. Paul was dealing with people who doubted his authenticity as an apostle. He was just saying that if he was not a true apostle, then they were not his true children. There is a parenthetical element I'll remove and a word order that must be corrected. 2 Cor 13 This is the third time I am coming to you....since you seek proof that Christ is speaking in me. (.....parenthetical element) 5 Yourselves examine to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you fail to meet the test! 6 I hope you will find out that we have not failed the test. "Yourselves examine" puts the object ahead of the subject. In Greek, it means that Paul is focusing on "them," not any examining. In English, Paul is saying to the Corinthians that they were the proof of his authenticity and thus there was no need of him to prove anything. It's important that we don't pull out verses out of context.
