I used to listen to this song a lot when I was going through some tough times.

i hope you're doing better now
You know when your drowning you do not actually inhale any water until you almost black out. I bet you know that feeling when you walk into a classroom on the first day of school and you do not know anyone? That fear that you are going to be alone and no one is going to know you? I get that fear every single day. My sophomore and junior year were the worst. When you have a panic attack it feels like you are drowning and no matter what you do you can not get to the surface. That the air you need to consume to live has been cut off and you can not find a way to get it. Now imagine having that feeling two or three times a day. You get so exhausted even the simplest things feel like a marathon. You start to think that no matter what you do you'll still have this stabbing pain in your chest. Your world starts to revolve around that feeling. When someone asks you why you haven't been to school in weeks you struggle to find a answer because you know if you tell them the truth they won't understand. The time in between your panic attacks starts to become shorter. You now struggle to function. You start to think there will ever be a way out. You eventually stop going to school all together. You think I'll just catch up before the end of the school year since second semester is already half way over. Without any real help and no one really understanding why you are still in bed even though its 6 pm you begin to loose hope. You feel like people are just going to forget about you. That you will be just a whisper in the wind. Looking back at it you realize that it's been almost 2 years since your first terrifying panic attack and that ignites something in you. You decide you are going to try and win this fight so you go to finals and try to pass your classes that you were not in. You end up failing everything because you did not go to these classes. You loose hope completely. You start slowly some how getting better over the summer. Like all you needed was a break away from all your struggles. You slowly start to advocate for yourself and open up to more people. That throbbing pain in your chest begins to slowly disappear until one day you realize its not there anymore. Looking back at it you realize something had to of clicked. Whether it be being able to coach the middle school bowling team or getting a dog who comforted you when you were sobbing and shaking uncontrollably. Before you know it it's the first day of your senior year. You realize none of your teachers have had you before. They do not know you as the kid who never comes to school or the kid who struggles to speak without a stutter. This opportunity to start over takes you by surprise but you take full advantage of it. Before you know it you have been going to school consistently for a few weeks. That anxiety you once felt gets weaker and weaker until you can handle it and it only over powers you occasionally. it hits you like a ton of bricks. you are starting to not drown. even though sometimes you go back to that place when you are in the dark, but you still don't revolve around that pain that use to subside in your chest. slowly but surely you began to fight your way to the surface. even though you have lost some friends along the way you have made even stronger ones in replace of those who left you. you begin to realize your panic attacks make you who you are. that without these terrifying experiences you would not be the person you are today. that strong courageous being who has a heart bigger than most would not be looking at you in the mirror if was not for those awful days when you couldn't get out of bed. you finally actually open your mouth for the first time in what feels like decades but no water comes in. that agonizing fear you once had is no longer there and you can breathe freely. You have finally made it to the surface. so one day when someone is joking about how you did not go to school the previous year you let them in. you are no longer afraid to tell the truth, because you have your truth to thank for that person you became and no one can change that
I can’t actually go to school anymore and that has absolutely destroyed me because I have lost all contact with friends and now I don’t know what to do I’m just trying to keep my pain hidden inside because I can’t just let it out that’s not how it works with me, everyone says to me just let it out and everything will be fine but I can’t do that because i have 1000 things rushing around my head at once
I see the finale of the best show of all time, Six Feet Under when I hear this song. Love it
