I dropped a fish into a pool of sharks. They all went for the bait and Dropbox didn't like the overload. Guessing everyone just selected the download from the root. I removed the runtime engines and NIVISA which made up the majority of the files.

I was already asked about which files to get from NI. Make sure you READ the readme file in the runtime directory. This isn't something you can just guess at.

Thanks Joe! Always fascinating to me. I'm a Ham and you are so right that your software is so much more I'll need but I still find your explanations fascinating.

I have no doubt there is still a small percentage of hams who like learning and experimenting. The Sounds like your part of the 1%ers.

Thanks for everything you’ve put out in the world, I appreciate the efforts and have learned a lot from you. I wrote up a markdown README for the NI dependencies with direct download links and installation instructions, it saves a good bit of time if one doesn’t have an existing NI account for using their software portal. I’d be glad to send it to you if it helps?
No worries if not, I’ll post it in the forums for others. Really enjoy your work, thanks again.

If you like, you can add it to a comment, or send me a PM with it on EEVBLOG and I can add it to the directory.

I am actually reading the manual. I think it's in the human being to seek help for any problem (in their life also) and waiting for a reply instead of do your own exercise/research for the information. Maybe that's the reason why people read so many books about stories but not so much for a book that can give you something you can learn for later use. My two cents btw.

That manual is long out of date now but should mostly match up with the older software. The right thing to do would be create a new manual for Solver64. I suspect a new manual would be about 4X it's current size to cover the topics. A lot of work for a free project with very little benefit.

I'm confused. If I remember correctly, you've said that development of 64-bit version is stopped due to NI license issues. And here it looks like it's in the next version. So what's is mothballed and what's not?

Assuming you watched the video, you know the direction I am taking. If not, I suggest watching it.

GitHub workflows and release artifacts are too good.

funny.. if I go into a code section on github the "download as zip" button is literally the biggest most colorful button on the whole site, how do ppl manage not to find it ^^ (good luck with your license issue.. closed source sucks)

why anyone would download to their phone has me stumped.

@@vincei4252 Oh, you are right.. I never even tried that.. ^^ There are some hurdles on android as it seems.. but jeah .. who would want to download that on android ^^

@@vincei4252 on the other hand.. there is a github app for android that makes it really easy and nice and convenient to pull content ;:D

The button is named "< > Code" and when you click it opens a mini window that has several link and one is the Download option so not so obvious if you don't know. But if that was all, it would be all good and well but the weird thing it is ONLY showed on the top structure of a repository, if you have drilled down a level to for example check out a doc folder then it is not visible.

Because it’s 2023. Idk about anyone else, but If I see a giant, colorful “download” button on a website, I, having been systematically trained throughout my formative years of navigating the early-mid 2000s internet , will automatically assume it’s some scammy ad redirect link, and not the ✨actual✨ download button.
