    LOG was so epic when Chris Adler was in the band.

    • @Cvillain626
      @Cvillain626 4 месяца назад +16

      They're still epic, the haters are blind. I loved Chris's drumming SO MUCH, but it's time to move on and accept that Art is also really good, just different. Saw them open for Pantera recently, they still kick fuckin ass. Going to see them again in a month with Mastodon and Kerry King, can't wait

    • @TheSilverGate
      @TheSilverGate 4 месяца назад +1

      @@Cvillain626Art is good, Chris was superb, he had his own style. Art is the equivalent of the current Korn drummer, Silveria was superior creatively

    • @PowerfulWarbird
      @PowerfulWarbird 3 месяца назад +3

      @@Cvillain626 The bigger issue is that it feels like they lost their creativity after losing Chris. They never had two albums that sounded the same before self titled, and Chris did make some vague comments about "selling out" and hinting at wanting to get more creative, which the rest of the band didn't.

    This is, without question, one of my favourite LoG tracks. Songs like this and "Overlord" where they experiment with something outside of their usual formula are invariably great.
    When it drops back down to the cleans and deep voice in the middle of the song, fades down to just the operatic voice for a bar longer than you expect, and punches back in at full force? Goosebumps, every single time.

    The number of layers within a song in any LoG's song is insane! Only Opeth can match that insanity.... and I loved it since the very first hearing. Not even TOOL can touch those two bands from that point of view.
    PS: Speaking of Randy's voice... the spoken words in this song make me always think about Phil Anselmo in Pantera's *_Suicide Note Pt.1_* and about the fact I always wished Phil gave more space to that speaking voice in their songs. Impossible for me to not put Phil and Randy always together when it comes to their low deep voices. I could listen to them talking like that all time long, even if they were just reading cooking recipes!!!

    Visitation is my favorite song from this album. Man I love Lamb of God. I've got to see them 4 times live. Ozzfest in 08, then the LC Pavilion in Columbus. For the life of me I can't remember where I saw them the other two times. I know it was in Columbus, Ohio. Doesn't matter really. All 4 shows they sounded incredible.

    The lady singing to me is the siren song of the alcohol addiction Randy was suffering from. Also when this album was being recorded it was mentioned that there was a bit of Mozart requiem mass in the record. I don’t know if it’s this song but I’m wondering that.

      @@Psykostatik I dont meant epic tracks, I mean epics. Like large wall of sound, multiple layers in the mix with orchestra and backup vocals and multiple signature changes throughout. I feel like there are very few of those in their catalogue, the ones that feel like a journey more than a song if that makes sense?
