Eurylocus told Odysseus that if he wanted all the power, he would have to take all the blame. I'm not blaming him or excusing what Odysseus did, but it's something noted. The call back to the first song of the Troy saga got me. Zeus is forcing Odysseus to make an impossible decision, and Odysseus is begging him not to make him do this. Again. The prophecy is coming true. He sacrificed his men, and his crew and friend betrayed him. Odysseus is not the man he was when he left Troy.
The interesting about this call back is, in troy saga Ody didn't knew what to do. It was just a baby, he couldn't do that but he did here with his crew, him doesn't want to admit that his wife is more important than theirs lifes. Like some kinda of shame, in the moment zeus asked ody already knew the answer, just dont wanted to tell
I love this saga but i feel like it does not explain Scyla well for people who dont know the mythology. Scyla is a six headed monster and ody is giving six men lights to feed them to scyllas heads so they can drive away while she eats them.

Scylla is a nightmare to depict, curious about the animatics. Heads, tails even her groin is terrifying. Someone really had too much fun describing her monstrous form. But, hey it brought us the saying "Between a rock and a hard place" Scylla's lair is the rock
One of the first things Odysseus said to these men in the musical was "do what I say, and you'll see them (their families) again", It was almost a sort of promise. The 6 torches were the first real time when this was truly broken, an order which knowingly cost lives. It's as much a betrayal as the mutiny is after.
Eurhylochus opening the bag did infact get 558 men killed. If you remember, they could SEE ithaca when he opened the bag and sent them to the land of the giants. Scylla sinks ships if you dont feed her 6 heads. He did the only possible thing to get through.
557 men actually, at the end of Ruthlessness Poseidon says there is 43 men left under Odysseus’ command; in The Underworld they say 558 men died because Elpenor died on Circe’s island after falling off her roof.
@@feistsorcerer2251 yeah but they were only able to be on Circe’s island because Odysseus tried to save the left over wind from the bag of Aeolus and he thought to open it after Poseidon killed his men

@@JoeySings And the first slash is a random crew member (could be Perimedes, Eurylochus' friend) stabbing Odysseus in the back signaling the crew picking their side. This then ushers in the luck runs out parallel.
I didn't even think about the crew not knowing about Scylla because of the wax, that makes so much sense. I assumed Odysseus was singing "the lair of scylla, this is our only way home" to the crew but I guess with this context, he would've been saying it to himself sort of like convincing himself that what he is about to do is worth it. Although, how did the crew hear his order to cut off the sirens' tails? Does beeswax only block out the sirens' voices?
This saga did something to me... Anyway, if you want to know what exactly Scylla is, she's a female creature with six heads and twelve feet. The men who were holding the torches got eaten by Scylla and Eurylochus would have too, but I believe he handed a torch to someone else. Also, the crew didn't kill Odysseus. Before he got the chance to finish off Eurylochus, one of the men stabbed him, he was knocked out, and they ended up on that island with all the cows. Eurylochus killed one of the cows by slashing its throat and... Yeah. The female voice in Suffering and Thunder Bringer was supposed to be Odysseus' wife Penelope. This saga is the beginning of Act 2, as well.
Eurylochus did open the bag, but Ody doxxing himself for no reason was the reason Poseidon killed everyone. Poseidon was gonna kill him either at sea or flood Ithaca. Both honest and stupid mistakes, but Ody making Eury light 6 torches to unknowingly mark 6 of his friends for death after he was guilt ridden over the bag was pretty cruel. Glad they still cared for each other after the fight at least, even if it ended tragically. Eurylochus calling him “Ody” and saying they weren’t gonna make it home was so sad, he just gave up hope
The problem with that is that yes, Ody was stupid to leak his full name and address like hubristic dunderhead he is, but they were going to make it back home to Ithaca regardless because the wind god was helping them there. Poseidon would only be able to strike with the storm which was in the bag. Because the bag was opened, it sent them all the way back nine days worth right into Poseidon's territory. Eurylochus and the crew made every stupid choice after another while Odysseus only made one. After all of that I do not blame Odysseus for feeling betrayed, and I guess since there wasn't a choice but to make six sacrifices he had to chose the ones who slowed them down the most, and I can see why Eurylochus was among them lol

Thank you so much, it's always so entertaining to watch your reactions to Epic!! Answering your question: nobody got killed during the "Mutiny". Odysseus was about to kill Eurylochus ("i am not letting you get in my way!"), but got slashed by crew, trying to stop him ("my brothers, why?"), and then knocked out and woke up ("my head.. where are we?") when they found the island!
If you look at Jorge shorts there’s a animatic of Odysseus in the water while the ending melody of Thunder bringer is playing in the back. He played it as a teaser to promote the Thunder Saga however with context now it’s the aftermath of encountering Zeus. If you watch it carefully, he is bleeding from a abdomen wound. A crew member stabbed Odysseus that's why he says "My brothers, why" not "My brother why". And why the crew then sing afterwards. They have picked Eurylochus and stopped Odysseus.
Eurylochus messed up but he didn’t know he’d end up causing most of the fleet to die by Poseidons hand. Odysseus was well aware that six men needed to die, he ordered Eurylochus to choose five others to hold torches. Odysseus made Eurylochus unknowingly choose five men to die along with Eurylochus himself. That is incredibly twisted. It’s only thanks to Eurylochus dropping his torch that allowed him to survive Scylla.
exactly what happens in Scylla and Mutiny can be a little hard to follow with audio only, especially if you're not familiar with the original story or what Scylla even is(beautiful woman upper half, 6 headed sea-serpent/dragon monster lower half). its why during the livestream premiere for these song he had animatics/rough animation showing the action scenes and not just the lyrics and some extra text saying what's happening(though that was there for other parts). other comments have explained what happened in the scenes well enough already so i wont go into it here, but i do hope the animations that were made for the livestream either gets released onto youtube, or those animators do the rest of the song and put it up as its own animatic.
To answer a couple questions you might have... 1. Odysseus had Eurylochus light six torches to mark the men Scylla was allowed to take as the toll for allowing them to pass. I think Ody had Eury light the torches hoping he'd keep one and end up being fed to Scylla as payback for leading them to poseidon by opening the bag costing the lives of 557 men 2. It was Odysseus that got stabbed in Mutiny... During the livestream Jay chose a animatic that showed this... Ody had actually beat Eury quite easily and because of this a crew member stabbed him in the back to save Eury from Ody's final blow... 3. Essentially Zeus destroyed Ody's ship killing the entire crew except for Odysseus himself but as Zeus was flying down to do so Eurylochus and the crew attempted to kill Odysseus missing him by a hair as Zeus kills them.
Fun Fact: Eurylicus is Odysseus's Brother-In-Law in Homer's The Odyssey. Whether that's still the case in Epic, I don't know, Jorgie's taken a lot of liberties so far. Scylla is also a giant sea monster with a beautiful female as a lure, and six hound-like heads that sprout from her groin, no I'm not kidding.
In case no one has said it before the Troy and Cyclops saga got renewed and now you might want to listen to those so you can hear the newer versions of the Cyclops and Troy saga :)
18:41 around here, you were asking who was killed, nobody was killed, the sound you heard was a member of the crew, specifically the one who says "how are we supposed to trust you now?" Before the rest of the crew join in going behind ody and stabbing him in the abdomen before he killed eury, eury then knocks him out and he wakes up when they're at helios' island
In Scylla Scylla is a 6 headed 12 ft tall beast, she uses her false body to lure in people and then eats them kind of like a lantern fish. In the song when she says “Deep down” and “Give up your honor and fame!” The reason her voice is layered is because all 6 of her heads are singing in unison. I thought that was really cool.
being p well versed in greek mythology, the moment Odysseus said "light up six torches" I knew where this was going.. it also made the end to Mutiny torture - I was just going "nooo you idiot Helios sees EVERYTHING!" the entire time
So idk if you intend on watching the whole livestream that the Saga was released during, but either way, Jorge had numerous short animatics commissioned for many of the songs. This is especially true for several songs in Thunder Saga. What's happening makes more sense because it's being explained on-screen by Jorge or explained via the short animatics. Someone named 4W Element Ender uploaded the Thunder Saga segment from the livestream if you'd want to watch it, it makes things make more sense for pretty much all the songs. It's especially true for Scylla, Mutiny, and Thunderbringer.
@JoeySings The whole stream might be on Jorge's channel, I haven't actually checked yet. Been meaning to and adhd goes "you sure about that when there's a shiny over there?" lol. Idk if you pieced it together, but in the beginning of Munity, Eurylochus is particularly mad at Odysseus for sacrificing SIX men in the lair of Scylla. Scylla is a sea monster with SIX eel heads. In Scylla (the song), Ody asks Eury to light SIX torches, meaning he purposefully made six of his men targets for Scylla so each head would be occupied, knowing his men would die. He willingly gave up the lives of his men to ensure he'd make it closer to home.

Odysseus really can only do extreams, from mercy in the worst places to, fucking letting the sirens drown instead of just killing them... Like wtf odysseus, you damned hypocrite
Fun fact: The livestream reveals that Odysseus intended to sacrifice Eurylochus as one of the 6 as revenge for opening the bag, but in the chaos of Scylla's attack, Eury handed his torch to someone else so he could help, unintentionally turning them into a sacrifice in his stead.
Fun fact about Scylla, she used to be a Nymph like Circe but got turned into a monster by her, cause she was jealous of a mortal-turned merman who was crushing on Scylla (pre-dog headed serpent body) and asked Circe for a love potion. So Circe, angry at Scylla for stealing her crush (even though Scylla wasn't interested in the guy), used a poison to turn her into a monster.
Scylla was a woman but turned into a water monster by Circe. As the monster she has 6 long snake like heads and rows of shark teeth. Odysseus knew they couldn’t get past her in “Suffering” without a cost = 6 sacrifices. So 6 men were killed by holding 6 torches to distract her 6 heads. As the song progresses with her attacking his crew you can hear 6 men screaming to signify their death. Jorge also layers Scylla’s voice 6 times to represent her 6 heads/voices.

I think people get so hyped up because of the amazing melodies Mr. Jalapeño creates that the information just skips through their minds 😂
The first red flag in suffering was the lack of violas, watch out for them motifs y’all!
Eurylouchus had killed the cow. 18:34
Favorit moments
Oh no....
Mutiny: my heart just shattered
Me: just wait another minute (l live your reactions)
In mutiny, the first slash you heard was Odysseus’s crew stabbing him
I am literally obsessed with your energy, you're JAMMING IT OUT and it's so contagious 😭
To answer a couple questions you might have...
1. Odysseus had Eurylochus light six torches to mark the men Scylla was allowed to take as the toll for allowing them to pass. I think Ody had Eury light the torches hoping he'd keep one and end up being fed to Scylla as payback for leading them to poseidon by opening the bag costing the lives of 557 men
Love that "no longer you" tells us whats to happen but still leaves surprises as to how it happens
I freaking love your reactions to EPIC ❤ The emotional rollercoaster is so relatable
i love it
Fun Fact: Eurylicus is Odysseus's Brother-In-Law in Homer's The Odyssey.
I knew you would love this. Honest I was looking forward to the Thunder saga more than any other saga and it did not disappoint!!!
Amazing video!
You are so kind thank you so much
Joey you need to watch the VOD of the live stream, the official animatics he included will BREAK YOU
Checking that out today.
THIS IS AMAZING- btw, your singing voice is HEAVENLY!! KEEP SINGING, BOY!
Awwww thank you so much
Yo, I'm new to this series too and it's been one of the greatest adventures I've ever been on!
i couldnt agree more!!!
I love your expressions ! This saga is truly an emotional rollercoaster !
Man had the same reaction as me during Mutiny 😂 perfection
18:41 around here, you were asking who was killed, nobody was killed, the sound you heard was a member of the crew, specifically the one who says "how are we supposed to trust you now?" Before the rest of the crew join in going behind ody and stabbing him in the abdomen before he killed eury, eury then knocks him out and he wakes up when they're at helios' island
I absolutely love your energy.
First time here, but girl your hair looks AMAZING
Thank you!!
In Scylla
Scylla is a 6 headed 12 ft tall beast, she uses her false body to lure in people and then eats them kind of like a lantern fish.
In the song when she says “Deep down” and “Give up your honor and fame!” The reason her voice is layered is because all 6 of her heads are singing in unison.
I thought that was really cool.
i love how excited you are to see the animatics!! i feel the same LOL I know they're going to eat for this saga (but at what cost to my emotions 🙃)
THUNDER BRING HER THROUGH THE WRINGER!
woo! first premiere I've gone to!
Hope you like it!
Thx for the reaction
being p well versed in greek mythology, the moment Odysseus said "light up six torches" I knew where this was going..
it also made the end to Mutiny torture - I was just going "nooo you idiot Helios sees EVERYTHING!" the entire time
You may have my favorite reaction of all time.
This video was in my recommended, I’ve never seen your channel before, but just from the intro, you have a cool and chill vibe so take my subscription
They killed one of Apollo’s cows. That’s whose throat got sliced and why Zeus came and delivered justice
not apollo, helios
@@penguin50279 Apparently for this musical, it might be Apollo rather than Helios, i saw a lot of people talking about it
this is the immortal cattle of helios. this is odyyseus, its always helios
Oh thank you. I didn’t know about the stream video until after I finished filming this.
@JoeySings The whole stream might be on Jorge's channel, I haven't actually checked yet. Been meaning to and adhd goes "you sure about that when there's a shiny over there?" lol.
Okay finally checked, I didn't see it anywhere on his channel.
Also be prepared for More Trauma at the end of Thunderbringer cuz it's so much sadder with the visuals imo.
WILD Act 2 opener! It made sure I’d hate Odysseus until the end of the musical tho 😡
What a cool sing intro
Damn you switched up on Eurylochus QUICK.
Like fair.
Offf I CANNOT WAIT for you to react to the newest songs he's JUST released 🤩🥰
its already out
Flashy Hades haha
This is a old vidio from johnnie the name of the vidio is i can't belive i did this and colby from sam and colby are in it and johnnie geting his love and hate tattos you shuold watch it. But it's really short like 5 min. Love you and you're vidios
At 8:53 I misheard you into thinking you were saying “I am gay”. This may be due to me looking at your most viewed videos and reading the title of your Jadien animation reaction
I love this great job and can you react to Deaf, Mute, and Blind making pizza from Johnnie
Coming tomorrow
@@JoeySingsalright then thank you
LOOOL BRO when you said "I'm gagged" I heard "I'm gay" hahhaha like nothing wrong with that but that caught me so off guard haha love ur stuff as always tho
😂😂😂😂 although that is very much a true statement as well.
Odysseus really can only do extreams, from mercy in the worst places to, fucking letting the sirens drown instead of just killing them... Like wtf odysseus, you damned hypocrite
Fun fact, Scylla was originally a nymph, but was turned into a monster by Circe due to jealousy
Every time I hear Zeus: I AM UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE ENERGY WE'VE CREATED IN THE STUDIO TODAY!!
❤
You should listen to kim Dracula's music i think you would like it
Fun fact: The livestream reveals that Odysseus intended to sacrifice Eurylochus as one of the 6 as revenge for opening the bag, but in the chaos of Scylla's attack, Eury handed his torch to someone else so he could help, unintentionally turning them into a sacrifice in his stead.
Jorge also layers Scylla’s voice 6 times to represent her 6 heads/voices.
whEN👆-eVER, i speak of the thunder saga.. I (me) oNLY speak of Luke Holt! NEVER🙅 Zeus. Hera I mean nOTHING by any compliment I give. It's aimed at Luke! Thunder Bringer is pro-Zeus propaganda and we are all victims. ✨Please don't hurt me✨
Poseidon not afreyd from scllya this write for the musical
Scylla used to be a nymph until she was mutated by a offended Circe turning her into a leviathan ish like beast
Zuze killed the rest of odyssey man but odyssey is just droning in the water and then he will end up and calypso iland and if Athena can’t convince zuze and the rest of the gods to let him go then he is stuck on that iland for ever
Let’s not spoil yeah
Why are you spoiling the rest of the musical? I mean, I happen to know this but not everyone knows
@@carterblack5615 I mean Jorge has taken a lot of creative liberties, that may be a few events that happen in the Odyssey book but who knows where Epic will take us!
r.i.p but I still can't bring myself to like eurylochus lol, at least in this version
I MEAN HE OPENED THE WIND BAG (Ithaca was literally in sight when he did it, THEY WERE SO CLOSE TO HOME 😭)
ALSO HE WAS SO READY TO LEAVE THEIR CREW ON CIRCE'S ISLAND AND NOW HES LIKE "omg why did u sacrifice them"
AND HE WAS BEING LIKE "ur choosing penelope over us?? 😰😰😰" WHEN THEY WERE IN THIS SITUATION CUZ HE KILLED THE COW
