You nailed it! As a musician that travels and plays traditional folk music in eastern Europe. The joy and gratitude towards music, musicians, and just simple companionship is so great. Then I come back to north America. Im convinced we even forgot how to enjoy music. I onced played for around 30 western tourists in Sofia, Bulgaria. Playing Bulgarian, Romania, and Serbian folk songs. They did not even pay notice, except for the odd picture or 30 second video. They were all on facebook and Instagram posting about their trip rather than having one. One of my favorite things to do is meet travelers and bring them to places that tourists would never find, like gypsy kafanas on the Danube. That is living, seeing thr beauty in all of us. However tech is stealing our eyes ,ears, and our heart and soul away from us. It's truly palpable when your able to weave your life in and out of it.

Wherever we visited, literally everybody there took care of our baby, especially all of old people showed her big love with big passion. And whenever we ask the locations, people gave thr answer and offered tea and cookie or wine all the times. We were always asked what they could help us more.... We were quite spoiled by them, so after Georgia we had bit difficult time in other countries 😄 Since then, I always always always recommend to travel Georgia, especially with babies. This video reminds me all of kind and smiley people in there.
I was in Georgia in the mid eighties when it was still part of the Soviet Union. I fell in love with the country and the people. They were the warmest, friendliest people I ever met. Not at all the stereotype of what we were being fed to believe the Soviet Union was like. They also have a very old culture and are one of the oldest Christian nations in the world. The Russians were also warm, friendly people. We in the West were being told to hate them.

If you go to live in mountain regions of it, you will get into another dimension and it will be like paradise, every morning and evening, you will be encompassed with love, songs, laughter, great food, stunning nature, clean water and aromas of pristine vergure. You will not want to leave that place.

That is all we can hold onto when empires invade and try to conquer. We are proud of our ancient heritage without apology and proud to be caucasians.
