This video is a recreation of a gift I made for a dear friend.
A quick search turned up a hundred similar projects on YT. Because I wanted my project to be unique I ignored them all with a strict “no peeking” rule.
Most of the patterns were etchings of my daughter’s ukulele. Patterns for the un-etch-able areas were figured out through trial and error.
And, no, this uke does not play. Actually, no ukulele plays. You have to play them. Or, play with them. Otherwise they just sit there. And that’s fine. They’re lovely to look at, like little baby guitars.
Very well done, Jon! It's shot well, funny, and the crafting creativity is sky high. You're very good at this. I also love the ending music and hard edit out. : )
Hi :) -if you haven't seen it, you MUST go watch his Flying Narwhal right now.
Thank you so much! I worked really hard on this. I tried the hard out on a whim and it made me laugh so I kept it. I really appreciate the encouragement!
I second all of Craftastrophe's comments. Plus I like your little glue song and the dramatic, slo-mo dropping of punched dots. So well done!!
True, the glue song and the slow mo dots were mucho cool!
Thank you, Rachael! I often mutter silly things while I’m making stuff. My wife made me leave that one in!
I have a ukulele but I am obsessed with making homemade instruments or diy stuff that I already have
Wow that's amazing
Suenan precioso! (...)
Which string you have used
Hello! I used hemp cord.
Hey Jon, I have a question, can it be played?
Hi! No, it’s only a decorative ukulele. I did give some thought to making a playable version, but I think it would take a lot of engineering.
